I carved my own face into a pumpkin. Again.

Ever wanted to carve your own face into a pumpkin? I have. In this video I'm bringing you a tutorial that'll let you carve a personalised pumpkin #selfie.
Believe it or not, this is not the first time I have carved my face into a pumpkin. What's that? You do believe me because I make a plausible crafty narcissist? Wish I could argue with that...
For this video I wanted to do something even scarier than just a plain old selfie, something more frightening even than a no makeup selfie - so I gave myself a Halloween makeover before I made my stencil. I tried to make myself into a vampire, but I sort of ended up looking like a reject character from Nightmare Before Christmas.
To make one yourself, the process goes something like this: first, take a selfie. To turn this picture into a pumpkin carving template, use Photoshop to increase the contrast and reduce the image to three colours, black, white and grey. In the black areas, you'll leave the pumpkin alone, in the white areas, you'll cut all the way through and in the grey areas you'll peel off the skin of the pumpkin. Print out your template and stick it to the pumpkin with tape. Next, prick around all the outlines in your design with a pin. Finally, remove the paper and use a craft knife to cut out the design, using the holes you pricked as a guide. Lastly, light a candle, say a prayer to the craft gods and turn off the light to see the finished result.
