  • In this clip I share a couple of stories where I have felt a bit whakamā - followed by some sentences in Te Reo that I wish I had have known at the time.
He aha te kupu Māori mō ______
What is the Māori word for ______
    Kāore au i te mārama.
    I dont understand.
    Kia āta kōrero.
    Speak slower.
He aha te tikanga o tēnā kōrero?
    What does that mean?
He pai ake tōku reo Pākehā i tōku reo Māori.
My English is better than my Māori.
    Kōrero mai anō.
    Say again please.
He iti noa iho taku reo Māori.
I only speak a little Māori.

Kia ora. Just watched a few videos as i was looking for te reo Maori videos. Im not maori, i dont live in NZ/Aotearoa, im in the UK but i love the language (even though i don't understand and only know the odd word) and the history, the accent. Something about i love reading up on the history and just listening to people speak te reo Maori. Such a beautiful language
