Imalent RS50 Flashlight Kit Review! (20,000 Lumens, 1160 Meters Of Throw!)

- Here is the all new/brand new Imalent RS50! This is sporting eight of the newest Cree XHP50.3 LED's for increased throw. The ability to throw by the RS50 is incredible. This uses a special fan shroud to cover the body of the light which can be removed and charged separately. The cooling fans do well on the lower light outputs of 6500 lumens or less. The turbo 20,000 lumens is for short bursts only but will cycle down automatically for safety. This uses a magnetic charging system to charge the fan shroud and lights three 21700 cells. Would you go Imalent RS50 or Nitecore TM28 for a combination of spill and throw for walks out in Montana where you want to see out far for wildlife and some spill for walking. Also wonder which you think would be better for a defensive strobe Light in wildlife encounters?

Best combination beam profile l have ever seen ! Has such nice spill , even at low setting's . Never need to use it at above 3500 Lyman's unless to show off it's capabilities. I bet you will own that ! 😁

Where would you rank this light compared to others you have tested ? I am curious on your opinion of what is the brightest light but one that you can still carry comfortably, thanks 🙏🏼
It's design is cutting edge which I prefer over their huge lights. The DX80 is one of my favorites because of runtimes and it's just small enough for it's big size to carry it easily. I like the shroud idea but fans are a bit weak to help with increasing turbo runtimes. Thanks for watching!

@@CharlesBridgTec The technical data on Imalent website shows both the MS08 and RS50 are both the exact same dimensions... 74mm x 51mm x 125.5. Is that incorrect?

@@CharlesBridgTec no worries, I totally understand. I actually just received my MS08 yesterday and love it. The flood volume is crazy! I’ve already got a Weltool LEP for throw distance, so I figured I had more need for the MS08’s flood, which seemed superior to the RS50? Or are they the same for flood? I screenshotted from both of your videos on those Imalents for flood comparison, and the MS08 seemed to be a little fatter on its flood. Either way I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate you taking the time to make these videos. It’s so much nicer being able to make an expensive purchase with confidence. Thanks for doing what you do, and please keep them coming :-)

En mi unidad MS08 la luz led verde está fuera de las aspas de los ventiladores por lo que ve perfectamente, supongo que actualizaron la carcasa de ventilación. Tengo que decir que la parte de la carcasa donde va alojado el tornillo es bastante débil ya que sin un mal uso y sin que se haya caido se ha partido la sujeción donde va el tornillo. El uso que le doy a la linterna es casual por lo que no entiendo muy bien que ha podido ocurrir para esa rotura que no tiene arreglo posible. He comprado dos carcasas de repuesto a Imalent China por un precio de 19 € cada carcasa, estoy esperando la entrega. Buen video, como siempre. Saludos cordiales.
On my MS08 unit the green LED light is outside the fan blades so you can see it perfectly, I guess they updated the fan housing. I have to say that the part of the casing where the screw is housed is quite weak since without misuse and without it falling, the fastening where the screw goes has broken. The use I give to the flashlight is casual, so I don't really understand what could have happened to that breakage that has no possible fix. I have purchased two replacement shells from Imalent China for a price of €19 each shell, I am awaiting delivery. Good video, as always. Kind regards.

I own 5 imalent lights including dx80 R60C, mso6, ms03, dm70. The R60C is my favorite it throws 1038 meters. I love all my imalents I feel they are the best high performance led flashlights on the market. You can buy. Them from Going Gear in georgia they are an imalent distributor. Much better than dealing with China

Greetings, Charles. As I said in a previous comment to you, I bought the RS50 on your recommend. My concern is that to my eye it does not seem to reach the palm trees in your video any better than the R60C, which has less lumens and far less candela. Watching another well-known reviewer feature the Manker MK38 and the RS50, the throw on the RS50 did not seem stellar either. When I told him, he said he was not surprised because he heard reports of the RS50 having roughly half the candela stated by Imalent. Can you comment to this? Has anyone tested the RS50 for candela to see it it reaches close to the stated 336,800? Also, looking at your videos for the R60C and the RS50, is my eye wrong when I see you focusing on the palm trees? Thanks a bunch.
Previous comment, when? I lux test all my lights and if they fall really short then it will not make it to my channel and report it to the manufacturer. This is not really designed to throw distance but flood it with a wall of light. Any light ratings in meters means at the end of the beam there will be at least 1 lumen to qualify for its ratings. I think for its size it does very well. I have not tested the Manker MK38 so I have nothing to say for it. Thanks for watching!

You do bill this light as having an "incredible" ability to throw (your word in the description up top: "The ability to throw by the RS50 is incredible."), but your response to me here says that the light is not "really designed to throw distance but flood . . ." The statements do not square. Also, I do not know a ton about lights, so "lux" does not assist me when I am trying to figure out candela. Anyway, it's fine. @@davidricci7736 For it's an incredible flood light. Its one of my favorites. Throwing a huge wide flood beam it does. I never said it was a dedicated thrower by any means which is confusing you. Take care.

What is the run time in strobe mode? Does the light intensity remain constant when the strobe is on?

@@CharlesBridgTec Thanks. This is what I am doing for 30 min now :). I don't see significant differences beside the color temperature. Wondering what difference you have noticed testing it "live". Especially, because I just ordered R60C and therefore wondering, if I made a mistake. However RS50 seems not to be easily available. BTW, for 3 years I am owning DX80, but finaly accu got broken as well as 4 of 8 leds in the reflector. Now I was looking for sth. with more focused beam beacuse such a strong power having a short range (like DX80) is not really so useful.
I tried to compare your R60C review but unfortunately there is more haze in this review compared to the R60C’s, so the impression I got, the R60C is the better thrower, if you’d kindly do a side by side comparison, we would appreciate it !
@@Evochamp I already returned mine R60C, bought on Amazon as a new... (was incomplete, used, and accu was in bad condition). Probably I will go for RS50, the cooling system let's use high mode much longer and I believe it is simple brighter for the same size, so R60C doesn't make sense. Moreover R60C has not nice color, sth like greenish. I prefere white, like DX80.
