Lyngseidet Experiment, Mountain Biking in Norway

This was a big question mark for me. I didn't know what I would find. I didn't know what I should expect.
Every ride start with a huge climb here. There's just no other way than to go up a hill. I started my ride next to a cemetary and I arrived at the gate.
Climbing was hard. Even harder than I expected because ground was soft and wet. I was riding so slow, but on the other hand that was also a good thing. I had time to enjoy this amazing scenery.
There was one thing that I was doing over and over again through the ride. Yeah, there are lots of fences here.
Water crossing, climbing all the time, mud and slippery roots. The trail didn't look so special, but it was challenging enough so that I started to feel exhausted pretty quickly.
It's easy to lose focus when tired. There were many close calls that I managed to save somehow. But I kept pushing forward, since I wanted to also enjoy the downhill.
It was time to jump over the final fence. When I was cruising back to the village I was thinking that Lyngseidet was challenging, but in a different way than what I had thought.
When I was talking with the locals after my ride I learned that the best trails are on the other side of the Lyngenfjorden - in a place called Skibotn.
We did drive through Skibotn on our way back home, but unfortunately we didn't have time to stay there. The locals described the area as a mountain biking paradise. That sounds like a place I want to experience in the future.

Porot eivät ilmeisesti osaa kavuta tikkaita :-D Skibottenin ohi on kanssa tullut joskus autolla ajettua - täytyy pitää mielessä jos joskus sinne päätyy pyörän kanssa. Hyvä pätkä taas!

Kiitos! Poroille kiipeeminen on ilmeisesti vähän vaikeampaa :) Meillä oli hotelli tosiaan vuonon väärällä puolella, joten kävin tutustumassa Lyngseidetin polkuihin. Skibotnissa on kuulemma paljon paremmin ajettavaa.
