Exploring West Bank Trails in Tikkakoski
I traveled to Tikkakoski to explore the west bank mountain biking trails.
I found smooth and fast trails without any technical sections. There were wide ski tracks, narrow single tracks and also come duckboards.

I have ridden my old cross bike everywhere and in every weather. I have experienced a lot with it. It became a day when I decided to ride a modern cross bike. This is my review of CaadX 105. Belgium vs Finland Cycling Culture Comparison

European Union invited me to visit Brussels. So I was in Belgium. Now a really wanted to see a local cyclocross race, but that wasn't on the agenda. It was my first time in Brussels and I made some observations about the cycling culture. I noticed that locals used bikes for commuting even if the weather was not so great. Here is a commuting culture comparison between Brussels and Finland. Stree...

This was my first time riding in Salpausselkä. The place is known for steep uphills and downhills, so I knew from the start that this would require a lot of energy it would be a tough ride. I just didn't know how tough this would get. That's the nature of mountain biking adventures. I didn't like the rain. It was so cold, but I just kept riding to explore more trails. Why should I go mountain biking in Kilpisjärvi?

I had one of the best mountain biking seasons I have ever had and now I want to make some kind of summary of different places where I have visited. First off Kilpisjärvi. Why you should go there or at least why I want to go there again? The place has some magic. It's different than the rest of the Lapland and it's also not a Norway. The place has a character of it's own and I find it very fasci...

I started my mountain biking ride from Peurunka and I had a plan to ride towards Kuusa. The ride included almost everything from dry and hard packed terrain to soft mud and gravel roads. Do you ever have a shaking bike at high speeds? Went in the highway today at around 65 miles and the bike was CRAZY shaking

I haven't noticed any shaking with my bike. I have mostly driven 55 mph because of the roads, but I have done 65 mph too.

That was helpful thanks. Elite don't give any details on how to use their app, which makes it really difficult. Then you get their rapid snappy videos with music for equipment that I don't have, which is also not helpful. I want an old fashioned slow video like this that goes step by step through all the features.

"There were two deciding factors. If the bike is on the roof I have a clear access to the trunk. If the weather is bad bike behind a car will collect all the possible dirt. " - that's a good insight. I think it depends on the rack and the car (sedan vs hatchback/wagon/SUV). There are some rear racks that dont use the tow ball, and thus follow the car shape on the back, and also the bikes become closer to the car, some even tilt foward depending on the car shape, avoiding most of the dirt. I can understand nordic countries like Finland, with rainy/snowy weather conditions throughout the year, will create a lot of dirt. But what is strange to me is that I see many more bikes mounted on the rooftop than on the rear, in Portugal, compared to Denmark or Sweden, where I see more rear mounted. Probably because most cars in nordic countries are sold with tow ball. In Portugal it is frequentely an optional, maybe because in Portugal you need an extra driving license set to drive with any type of trailer. I think you do not need that in Denmark or Sweden. I can understand that with a rear rack on a tow ball, it might be difficult to reach stuff on the trunk, although not impossible. On non-tow ball rear racks, probably you cannot access/open the trunk with the bikes on the rack on a sedan/berlina (4door), but you can on a hatchback/wagon/SUV (5door).

On the Internet there are always reports that the claw had come loose during the car ride. To follow up on these worrying events, I noticed after countless videos and forum posts that quite a few users do not follow the instructions correctly. Like here in the video, the torque was not observed correctly. One must absolutely turn to the torque limiter (loud click) that the claw is 100% correctly locked! If you happen to find other video with incorrectly presented application, share it necessarily.

My advice is, watch this video. I recently purchased an Elite Suito cycle trainer; taking it out of the box was simple but setting it up to work was not. This Ant+ video is helpful; it confirmed by own troubles and that I wasn't just me. I am very disappointed with Elite who reminded me of Garmin several years ago who also used Ant+ to operate their products and thankfully, Garmin listened to its customers and removed a need for Ant+ but sadly, not Elite who today remain very much behind the times.
