The clones' memories being altered, to drive them to complete Order 66, was such a cool idea. Awesome job!
Edit: where did the idea come about?
It was a random thought while thinking about the inhibitor chips. Like obeying a command without question is one thing, but there must be some sort of reprogramming going on, so they accept the order without any conflict or resistance. That's where I had the idea that by altering their memories the clones can feel like this is a justified thing to do!
^ I want to know this as well! Not only is it an incredible idea, but also phenomenally executed!
@@WoofWoofWolffe yeah same I mean u don't see the commander in the ending scene though

exactly to me it's abit satisfying and heartbreaking at the same time
It's most sad when it's those who were close to you. When you are an ARC trooper with free will, it's a pain seeing your brothers like this. The only thing you could do is either persuade them, or fight against them.

It pains me so much how the captain stared at his Jedi General like asking for permission to go get the transmission...
Feels more like the General giving Captain a choice if he wants to. He clearly respects the captain.

Looking back, I wondered how Cody and Rex would have felt, going through this, considering Obi-Wan and Ahsoka were close with them.
Visceral anger perhaps? The closeness would have been poisoned and inverted, the betrayal feeling even more deep. Once the effect wore off and they realized what they'd done... Can't even imagine how shitty that would feel.

The idea that the inhibitor chips alters their memories of the Jedi from being heroic to monsters is such an amazing concept. I love this!
IKR this is awesome
Yeah, and it wouldn’t have made much sense if it was the legends reason, basically without the chips. There’s no way that the ENTIRE army of clones who, for years have bonded with the Jedi, execute them just like that. I don’t believe it.
@@stormpants1638 correct me if I'm wrong but i thought it was generally discouraged for jedi to bond with clones? with the exception of Anakin, Ahsoka and obi-wan i vaguely recall Mace Windu criticizing Anakin in the animated show for just that. jedi code forbids forming attachments I'm sure jedi where heavily discouraged to befriend their clone child army.
always thought inhibitor chips are dumb they're clones not droids.
they're bred for combat and to follow orders they're children soldiers basically and presumably they all have the various orders drilled into em from birth so while a few that did bond would find it difficult (and theres some legends stuff of clones going rogue) id absolutely believe the overwhelming majority would execute em.
OriginalDan you can’t form personal deep attachments as a Jedi, but that doesn’t mean you can’t be close to the clones. The Jedi are friends with one another, it shouldn’t be different with clones that fight to die for you and you doing the same for them. Even if the Jedi themselves aren’t personally attached, the clones for sure are going to be attached to their generals who try their hardest to keep you alive.
Yeah Mace Windu actually was very close with the Clones he served with. Especially, Commander Ponds, who he formed a strong friendship with. He is shown throughout Clone Wars to care greatly about the Clones he served with.
Can we just appreciate how much that jedi cared for his troopers, he was a true MVP. Going out of his way to save random clones who were probably doomed anyway.
F in the chat.
man didnt even raise his lightsaber not even self defence
They probably weren't random clones to him
Makes it all the more saddening because he's one of those Jedi generals who treats Clones like actual soldiers instead of cannon fodder. Anakin, Obi-Wan, Plo-Koon, Ashoka, Ima-Gun di, and Yoda are the only Jedi who genuinely cares for them.

This would be so fucked up. You'd think order 66 would just be like "Kill the Jedi, don't question it. Orders are orders." and that would be that. But actually manipulating their memories to burn all the friendship and respect they may have had for their generals at a tip of a hat in order to make their status as traitors undeniable? Truly diabolical.
Definitely would fit to Sidious' perverse satisfaction. The situation was rather messed up from the start though, considering that the Jedi had basically assented to commanding an army of conscripted child-soldiers in what was supposed to be a fight for freedom.
sadly this wouldn’t make sense because the main reason the Jedi didn’t sense it coming was because it wasn’t hate, they just did what they were told but due to this theory it kinda messes things up
@@ray3413 It doesn't though. There was no hate prior to the order being issued, and the issuing of the order rewrote their memories in order to make them hate the Jedi. The memory rewrite happened instantaneously in real time and in what would seem like the flip of a switch they would turn on their old friends. It makes sense too for Rex at the end of Season 7 as he was very strong minded, so the rewrite would've been rather traumatic and the old, original memories would've been conflicting with the rewritten ones, causing him major internal conflict.
Raymund P Jabla Yeah, what Sorrrbet said. It was a more or less instantaneous rewrite, a temporary one. And the Jedi DID sense the hatred. Why do you think Ki-Adi Mundi stopped leading his charge in the middle of a full-on firefight and turned to see his men. He sensed their hatred for him, and he was both confused and hurt by it.
Personally, I prefer the simple, here's your order, the Jedi committed treason, now kill them; style of things, it's simple, but also very realistic.
not gonna lie, this really hit harder than it should have.
Hocus Pocus You've Lost Focus ligit almost got tears in my eyes lol
Hit harder than anything Ray has ever said in the sequels
I just realized a cool plot twist, what if that clone trooper who this guy thought was used as a shield 2:32 but was actually saved by the jedi survived until Order 66? Then after they kill the jedi and they're just chatting with each other, the clone realizes something is wrong because that guy was supposed to be dead but yet he executed Order 66 with him..? That's when they'd realize what happened
I never really understood how could it be possible that the clones could execute their Jedi Generals seeming almost emotionless, after all they went through so many things and they probably saved each others lives many times. But this video made me see from the point of view of a clone trooper who's bio chip would start to activate. This makes Order 66 even darker and more tragic to me than I originally thought. Awesome Job!!
I mean in Legends. Many did have emotions about it however those were down to clones that had the time to know the Jedi. Most didn’t know them that well so for them orders were just orders

Dude! I wish the altered memory thing was canon. It would shed a whole new light on Order 66. It would also create some great fan fiction regarding how some of the clones were able to disobey the order.
This! Perhaps some of them could find inconsistencies with their altered memories versus their actual memories and use that to destroy the fake memories, therefore disobeying Order 66. In that way, it still makes the entire sequence incredibly tragic because these clones didn't know what the hell was going on.

I absolutely love the ideas of how to use the force mid-battle that you created there, things I would never have just thought of;
using stuff that's flying about anyway as a weapon, force lift a wounded soldier to cover, or my absolute favorite one, force lift a wounded/ dead soldier to become a shield for you. Absolutely fantastic.
I feel like star wars is going to steal this concept.
I mean its theirs
I honestly wouldn't even be mad, it's such a great concept and I'd love to see it introduced.
The concept was always there, it was just never looked into deeply in the movies. That's why people love the EU and all the fan films, because they look into the things we ask ourselves when watching the movies.
lol they will. The recent Star Wars comics stole fan art. Even The Force Awakens took elements from the EU/old canon.
And add lesbians and a stupid subplot.

I like the idea of the clones memories be changed. Makes you wonder what happened to all those memories when order 66 went off
Truly a thing of beauty. More emotion and action in one short film then I got from the entire sequel trilogy. Props to you and your animation team.
Man seeing Order 66 from The Clones perspective really changes everything.

If you made a starwars animated show or movie, you'd make a LOT of money
It would need to be profit free or discussions with Disney discussed (Which unfortunately is unlikely to put it gently)
Nah he won’t make anything cause Disney would make sure every single penny goes to them in the end

Honestly, the sad thing is that some Jedi actually did treat clones the way they did in those altered memories.

@@grievouscontent It's treason then.
The doctored memory of a Jedi using a clone as a human shield made me gasp. Even though I knew it was fabricated, it felt so wrong to watch. I can’t even imagine what it was like for the clones who truly believed that to be true
Facts
Well I think if clones knew at least the basic concepts of the Force, they'd throw a tantrum after recieving such strange experience from the person following the opposite ideology.
imagine the dude that was used as a meatshield. since he was put behind cover for safety he prob survived
Most jedi where like that
Pong Krell: So anyway, I used the clones as meat shields
Saw this right after watching the first episode of the Bad Batch. The timing is perfect.
Love how we see the actual event and then the twisted version that the trooper "remembers" once order 66 activates their secret brain chip. So well done. Those few seconds of footage would have made the prequel movie's Execute order 66 scene so much more understandable.
Memories being altered like that can actually make sense. If you are "convinced" of something, your own mind will even alter your memories to suit the perception. Memories are not perfect, after all. If a person convinces you that something that didn't happen happened, and you find yourself believing it, your own mind will create a false memory to suit that perception.
So when Order 66 was called, every Clone was given the statement that the Jedi are traitors. So when your brain is convinced of that, the Clones begin to suddenly alter their own memories by this fact, and thus their memories of the Jedi become negative to believe that they are, in fact, traitors.
This is why Rex was struggling against the command when he saw Ahsoka. He was fighting the order because he was still not convincing himself of the perception and clung to his unaltered memories, or unwilling to believe in the fake memories, before he succumbed to it. Once the chip was removed, his mind began to recall what the memories really were.
This is my headcanon.
Their interpretation of order 66 is interesting but afaik unfortunately wrong. We've seen the official cannon: the clone troopers received the order and the implanted chip ensured they would execute the order and would not resist. There was no reediting of memories à la Black Mirror's *Men against fire* .
@@reellezahl Both can still work together. The chips might've ensured the execution of the order through the memory replacement.
All Sidious had said was, "Execute Order 66." Yet, Rex and others suddenly perceived the Jedi as already having been found guilty of treason. They had an entire backstory suddenly in their minds that a trial had already taken place. That is evidence that altered memories had been inserted. Rex, much closer to two Jedi than any other clone trooper was to any, resisted the new memory for a short period.
I sometimes dream things and are surprised to find this certain movie or game I played was never real. This is actually quite easily done its scary.
But out of 1 million clones that excepted order 66
Rex (out of 1000 brothers of his) didn’t accept it until the very last second where the chip took control of his body and mind. I always wondered what made Rex fight so hard against the inheritor ship and what made him hold on for a few minutes to not believe in this altercation of memory.

*Shoots the wounded Jedi padawan with the blaster*
Jedi Master: "No!"
*Clone Commander (CC-0244) shoots the master also*
*The clone commander retrieves the kyber crystal from the padawan who, too wounded to use the force, grabs the commander's wrist before he yanks it away in disgust.*
*Two Clone Troopers proceeds to pick up and toss the bodies in a hole and starts pouring fuel on the two.*

I love this take on Order 66. Altering memories was a great idea. I think it gives some reasoning to when Rex said to Wolffe "They aren't the ones who betrayed us."
"What I remember about the rise of the Empire is... is how quiet it was. During the waning hours of the Clone Wars, the 501st Legion was discreetly transferred back to Coruscant. It was a silent trip. We all knew what was about to happen, what we were about to do. Did we have any doubts? Any private, traitorous thoughts? Perhaps, but no one said a word. Not on the flight to Coruscant, not when Order 66 came down, and not when we marched into the Jedi Temple. Not a word."
"With the fall of Coruscant and the elimination of the traitorous Jedi, Palpatine's rise to power was complete. In recognition of our service and loyalty to the Emperor, the 501st were placed under the direct command of Lord Vader. Armed with deadly new weapons, blazing new ships, and shiny new armor, our presence let the galaxy know that the days of the Old Republic were well and truly over. We were establishing a new era, an era of order and peace."

This approach would provide much needed sense in the whole order 66 setup. Well done.
Gotta say, I love that you ended up going with the Wolf Pack squad for this short. I really don't often see them featured in a lot of fan made stuff, which just makes this better. That said.. kinda heartbreaking how that pair of troopers talked about what they'd do post-war, then having their memories altered come Order 66. Overall though, very well done short.
It is perfectly describes the order. Pay f for the troopers, and the jedi.

This is a great way of showing the viewpoint of the clones in not just that now they hate the jedi but a wore emotional state of why they hate the jedi. Great job and keep doing what you are doing.
I used to hate the whole inhibitor chip scenario as it takes the whole 'betrayal' aspect from Order 66...But now I see it's not so much The Clones betraying the Jedi but Sidious betraying the Clones. Beautifully executed man, bravo!
