Good save on the barn find Cub. It sounded like the engine was running a little fast and maybe some noise from the hyrdo pump. I'm sure you will find something to do with it! It amazes me that people will park good machines like this, then go out and buy cheap box store riding mowers to replace them.
Yep, that's running way too fast. Could be a guvna' issue or someone wanted to go faster... That squeal is probably from the mouse pee that got into the PTO clutch and ruined the bearings....
Frank, I remember when I took my welding training that they warned us about wearing rings, chains, and of having cigarette lighters in our pockets. The worst ones were the plastic ones, but they claimed that the zippo types were a bit safer. I'm not a smoker, so I wasn't worried about having them.
Hey frank when I worked for a small engine shop my boss would throw a fit if I started working on a piece of equipment without washing it down first .no matter what was wrong with it. And you know as time ⌚ passed I found out why it made the whole job easier and when you were done and the customer came to pick it up 👆 they were always pleased with the work and always came back.
I own a 1984 782d diesel cub cadet it starts good and run good a great mower

Wow I wouldn't keep spraying all that starting fluid in there it will wash the rings
That looks to be a pretty much unmolested tractor. Good job on getting it running. I am looking forward to seeing what your disposition of it will be.
Nice score frank
That mouse had a taste for escargot!
Hi you should build a small dozer with this one
Pitiful mechanic! You should only work with simple push mowers or weed hooks!!
Just my opinion but I would pull the float bowl 🥣 off first cause it sat so long and you know it's got to be all gummed up 👆
