You are the MAN, man. I was about to throw the towel in, hang my head in shame and take it to a shop to get my outer tie rods done. Bought a torch, hammered on that thing for 12 minutes and it popped over as soon as I put a wrench on it.

Exact same scenario here. Gonna buy some decent torch tomorrow first time and give it a try.

Those outer tie rods have been replaced at least once. You can tell by the S04 stamped on it. If they were original it would be SR3. Here's how it works: SH3 - EF Civic,SR3 - EG Civic and S04 - EK Civic. Ball joints and inner and outer tie rods for 88-00 Civics are interchangeable. They just have different part numbers.

great video for us home gamers, I was trying to remove the tie rod on a 1 ton E350 van, it was futile.
Neighbor is a mechanic, he rolled his O/A torch set out and got it cherry red, literally, and it came off like it was buttered.
Thats what the pro's do, they don't mess about trying brute force.
He said it can't seize if its liquid.

Bro, thank you so much for putting on this video. I tried to remove my outer tie rod today and it would not budge. I went to HD to get some better wrenches to remove that sucker but now that I'm watching your video I think I'm just going to wait and do both the inner and outer tie rod as I noticed my inner tie rod has no resistance whatsoever and probably needs to be replaced as well. I'm going to get one of those torches as well in case my new wrenches don't work. My car is only ten years old so we'll see. BTW, your car's suspension was in really rough shape. Wow!! Haha

Maybe to reuse, more professional, cutting tools can be avoided, maybe if you only need to replace outer tie rod and not inner - Variety of reasons. My situation was the outer tie rod joint was very loose and wheel was jiggling meaning alignment was never staying - Instead of having to spend another $100 on two inner tie rods and parts tools to remove that, just heat the nut, loosen, and remove outer putting a new one on and presto, cheapest fix with most effective time over dollar ratio.
