Unfortunately its meant to be a fire safe. Not a security safe. Its mentioned on the papers that it comes with for legal reasons. I have the same one and just found this out too.
Go watch that CZcams video again... Mr. Locksmith uses a magnet to unlock an "electronic" safe as the magnet actuates an electromagnet solenoid that is normally actuated upon successful code entry on the electronic number pad. The first safe in this video is not electronic and uses an old fashioned dial. I'm not saying the first safe in the vid is any more secure, but you'll have a really bad day trying to get in with the magnet method.
I agree that isn't good, but what are the chances a burgular will have a magnet with him?
It seems it can be opened with a magnet, easily cut open, and even easily open with a hammer. Steel hinges....seems like easily removed. ...as seen in some of the video here. What does sentry have to say about it.

Not positive, but I think so. Says it has waterproof seal. It looks just like the safe I own, but mine is a Honeywell. Honeywell must make them for First Alert.

How much are you looking to spend? For a relatively inexpensive product (sub-$200) that provides a long duration and a high temp certification, the commercial products made by Honeywell are solid choices. For example, Model 1104 has a 1 hour UL rating at a 1700 degree test temp. Like virtually all products in this price category, they are providing fire protection but will not provide any meaningful theft protection from an attack.
@@npaul4171 thank you looks like this the perfect one when it comes to fire resistant. I was looking at one from sentry safe with half hour ul rating , even tho this is more expensive it's better to have peace of mind.

Beware of any safe that uses a circular Tumbler lock as a backup. I can see it being a useful option to walk out the wheel on a combination safe. But not for a backup lock.

Only the digital version opens with the magnet if im not mistaken. Regardless they are all easy to get into with the right tools.

Worst recommendation EVER! I wouldn't trust a SentrySafe to protect candy from a toddler. ...and you are completely clueless about safes. For example, the addition of a key lock to an electronic lock does nothing to increase security, when either of them can be used to open the safe. *IF* it were set up to require both the key *AND* the combination, then perhaps it would increase the security of a safe. If either can be used to open the safe, it actually increases the number of vulnerabilities, which decreases security.
