This video shows how to take apart a Kenmore 90 or Kenmore Elite dryer. You can take it apart to get to the fuses, thermostats, belt, heat element, etc for diagnosing and making repairs! - Jak na to + styl
You couldn't have been clearer or more to the point. This was extremely helpful. Thanks a lot!
You are welcome!
Again, every time I need to fix the dryer I refer to this. No extended chat about your fishing trip last week just to the point help. perfect ..
Glad to help!
I've had this dryer 25 year now. Works great. Repairman showed me to remove the front panel and clean out the lint every once in a while, but I couldnt' remember how to get that front panel off. Thank you! Mission accomplished.
You're Welcome!
I'm watching this again because the dryer is overheating and I forgot all the twists and turns on taking things apart. This is the best video on the internet. I hope there are others like it. I need to check once I get my dryer working again. What a life saver.
I am glad the video is helpful to you. Thanks for commenting!
I simply can’t thank you enough for this video. I followed it to install a repair kit *all by myself* and I’m hoping I’ll get a few more years out of this 22yo machine! I’m so grateful!
Glad to help!
Bro. That's the EXACT dryer we have and you could not have been more helpful! Thank you!!!
You are welcome!
Thank you so much for this. My grandparents dryer suddenly stopped working, and everything I’ve seen states it was a build up of lint. I couldn’t figure out for the life of me how to take off the front panel to clean it out for them.
Thank you so much
You are welcome, glad to help!
Thank you very much! Not only was this very helpful (it definitely saved me a lot of time and spared me from frustration) but it was also very entertaining. It's always fun to watch people who mastered their craft (and are gifted at communicating clearly).
You are welcome! Glad the video was helpful!

Thanks Ken. That was very instructive for taking 30 year-old Series 90. The components are in different locations but the ideas are the same. They made the edges sharp back then too!
You're welcome!
Ken you are the man. Helped me replace my dryer motor perfectly, running like a beut now
Still a great video after 3 years. Showed me how to access the parts I needed. Thanks!!!
You are welcome!
Thank you for the tutorial. I saved my folks a service call with a replacement of a thermal fuse. I will also replace the timer soon as well as ours is worn out.
Great Video. Only video I've ever referenced that took as long as the video to complete the project. Normally a 10 minute video takes 3 hours to actually complete. Good job.
EXCELLENT you made this about getting it done and not about you . 2nd time I needed this
This helped me greatly, thanks for taking your time to show people properly. Most folks are scared to death to touch one.
I agree with the other comments, excellent instructions. Most of the other videos out there for troubleshooting my problem start with the dryer already assembled. This has the the missing steps. Thanks much,
You're welcome, glad the video helped you!
Thank you for making and posting this. It's clear and paced just right. Thanks for mentioning your other video for lifting the console panel held in place differently on other models of Kenmore dryers.
You are welcome!
Thank you for the excellent, easy to do instructions. Made my repair quick and easy. Especially the tip about taking a pic of the upper wiring for the light.
You are welcome, glad to help!
THANK YOU!!!! Spent the day tearing down and rebuilding the Dryer. It is working at the moment.
You are welcome! Glad the video helped you get it done!
Thank you for your help. Just replaced the broken belt in my dryer, and showing me how to thread the rollers was a godsend.
You're Welcome!
This video helped me repair my dryer in the first try, very informative and detailed, thanks a lot and keep up the good work.
Glad to help! You are welcome!
I have a Kenmore series 80, and aside from a few extra screws holding on the vent cover this worked perfectly, great video :)
Thank so much I had to take this dryer apart because my coworker gave it to me and it started but was filled with leaves n stuff so I followed ur instructions n get er dun lol thx again
Thankyou. Needed to access my belt. Insides needed some TLC with the shop vac. Very thorough instructions. Exactly what I needed.
Thank you for the instructions I was able to remove the hanger wire that became entangled with the blower unit. A simple fix but your video made it a lot simpler. Thanks again
You are welcome, glad the video made it easier for you!
@@kensappliancerepair9971 yep yep the vid is straight to the point. I'm pretty much a mechanical thinking guy and so its a big score to to get a instructional video on the same model etc....kind a made me look like the repairman....haha
Thanks for this. My son and I did this on a free Sunday and took us like an hour to fix the element and thermostat
You are welcome, glad to help!
Thanks Ken...I needed the refresher....Worked on many, semi retired now, HVAC by trade and Appliances....Did the coin ops for years too....Apartment basements, dorms, other locations...Almost identical, except they eat money....I remember the buy out and when they first mingled the Kenmore/Whirlpool dryer with the Maytag....I hated it....The washers needed improvement, I'll admit, the dryers, especially the WP, should have been left alone...In my opinion the best that ever was, but they just had to screw with it....I have worked them all, The older WP/KM, still my favorite, GE, Hotpoint, Ropers, Speed Queen, (a tank), the old Norge, remember them, what a pain....WP/KM is still easiest to service, saves the customer bucks on the time and still a money maker for the service co. and/or man, and/or woman doing the job....Have to be inclusive now a days....Just more crap, being politically correct....It's SERVICE MAN, NOT SERVICE LADY.....lol...Thanks again for the video, doing one later today and I think it's the KM Elite.
Thank you for the video. You were very informative in helping me to take the dryer apart. Everything looked good so I just cleaned it up, lubricated the rollers and pulley and that stopped the squealing sound.
Just need to add- your videos are so good, me- a single mom- has had this sucker torn apart and back again a million times. I'm currently looking for a spare set so I don't have to have a new one who talks and then tells me how much water to wash with!
Excellent step-by-step tutorial. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
You're welcome, glad to help!
Excellent instructions. My dryer just stopped working and this is exactly what I need to troubleshoot it. Thank you!
You are welcome, and thanks for the kind comments!
With the help of your videos, I was able to successfully troubleshoot and fix my Kenmore 90 dryer today! Thanks again for saving me a lot of money!
That's super, glad the video helped you with the repair!
Thanks Ken! I wish I started here lol. I had all kinda screws off the back and was fighting the front lower panel for a while haha. Also our Elite model slightly different and had to do the putty knife slip trick to get the top control panel to hinge back, no problem!
You're Welcome!
Truly appreciate your detailed instructions
I and I appreciate you watching my video!
Thank you for the video, it helped me diagnose and fix my dryer problem. I put a too heavy Costco Detergent tub on top of my dryer, it bent the top down without me knowing, that created friction with drum, therefore it would not turn. After watching your video I could take it apart and diagnose this is what had happened, thank you. The manufactures should put a sticker on these dryers not to put heavy things on top of them.
You are welcome! Glad the video helped you figure out what was going on.
Thank you! Clear concise instructions. Now, go take a break while I take mine apart.💪
You're Welcome!
Wow!🤔 You're The Best, Dryer Doctor* Ken!💐👏🏽
Thanks!
This video was great! Just what I needed.
Very helpful video. I've used it twice while working on my dryer.
Glad it has helped you with your repairs!
Thanks a lot for posting this. Sorry, I can't donate anything, but I hope you find some happiness in helping others as I do. Continue to be great!
That was a great help, thank you. My Motherinlaws dryer stopped working but had power and wouldn't start it wound up being the belt had broke.
And Ken, I've watched a bunch of your content before I really knew how you tube worked and how you all get paid so I'm sorry I didn't subscribe sooner. My kid finally sat me down and explained it so I'll tip you whenever I can! I have shared your videos with so many ppl though!
Thanks for the shares! If I can help you with what parts you need, any tip you send would be greatly appreciated. My videos are NOT monetized, so CZcams does not pay me anything at all....
Thank you. Couldn’t access the bottom door panel screws until I found your video.
You are welcome!
This saves me from having to buy a new dryer! Thank you much!
You are welcome!
Great demo I struggled until I saw this well done video. Now I need to find how to convert to LP

This video has helped me twice!! Thank you
You are welcome! Glad it's still helping people out
Awesome instructions, I have an older model but everything is almost identical! Thank you!!!
Very nice! Don’t know how far I’ll end up having to take mine apart but we will see. Hopefully I’ve gotten enough gunk out of the lint and vent ducts that it will work… but may have to replace a few parts if that wasn’t enough. About to go put the lint trap back together now 🤞
Thank you for the most clearest and step by step explanation 🙏
You are welcome!
Great job! video was very helpful 👍 didn’t know how to get to the belt.
Glad the video helped!
Thank you sir. This was helpful. Successfully replaced belt tensioner and pulleys, since the amazon kit came with all of em, belt broke.
You are welcome, glad the video helped!
Thanks for this video. I know you made this 4 years ago but it still helped me a lot here in Oct2022.
Youre Welcome!
Awesome, at 4:55 learned how to open the panel beneath the door. Thanks!
Your Welcome. And I know I should have edited differently and shown that part sooner in the video. At least its there!
@@kensappliancerepair9971 All good..I will have to make sure the wife does not drop anything else down the lint trap slot (she was trying to clean it out) I had an 800 series dryer, worked perfectly. Got to clean out all the stuff in there after all these years.
Very useful video take guesswork out of disassembly.

great video could not have done it without it thanks
Thank you this was extremely helpful. I just didn't know what to do with a clip that was on the bottom it fell off when I took the door off. I see it did not fall off when you took your door off. These are not the 2 clips on the bottom that hold the small piece
I will need to see the clip you are talking about. You can email pictures of it to me at manfredcanyon@gmail.com and I will try to help you with it!
from one Ken to another, thanks.

Thank you! For crying out loud! Nobody who shows this stuff explains the clips like you did. I finally got that blasted front panel open. Again, thank you so much for being clear.
