Great video Jeremy! Thanks for coming by man! Always good to have ya
Dude… I live on the street behind that store. Been many times. Kyle has worked on my guitars before and done an awesome job
My dad has a Martin Shenandoah dreadnought. Growing up I had always thought it was this $5k heirloom that I wasn't allowed to touch, but I didn't know it was a Shenandoah until I actually looked at the headstock recently. Probably wouldn't have known if I hadn't begun playing guitar last year-my first/current acoustic is a surf green Fender Sonoran I purchased online, but I'm considering a smaller body next. I'll have to visit my local shop thanks to your video!
As a Knoxville native, this is my favorite guitar store in town, bar none. Bought my favorite amp there; Kyle also does the best guitar setup work around!
Really like watching your videos Jeremy. I have an obsession with guitars LOL. And some of your videos have been pretty educating. Keep it going
Thanks for the tour. Awesome candy store for sure. 👏👏👍🇨🇦
Ahhh, that Collings is so amazing.
I like that you visit a mom and pop store, An you showcase their stock and the owner , besides playing some of their instruments this makes me think if my family is traveling in this region or friends we will will stop by and maybe make a purchase. I thought my son to support the mom and pop business and at his age 38 , he’s passed that on
used to live in Knoxville for many years (my grown kids are still there) I have bought a ton of guitars from Brad who used to own the store .kyle is awesome as well !!
Great shop, thanks for the owner.
Martin dreads are just so very special. They just stand out and have that special Martin tone. Frankly, can't be beat. Same with high end US made Guild 12 string guitars. They just chime like no other. No tubby sound, just brilliant clarity.
I cannot believe you didn't play either of the McPhersons or even the Maccaferri for giggles.
Great video
Ha - went to Knoxville in 2010 when on the Steve Kaufman Kamp in Maryville - people pretty surprised to meet up with an Englishman in Knoxville - it's not really a touristy place after all!!
The Balboa sticker on the wall reminds me of my friend Terry Hill's group.. Terry was awesome. RIP
That f50 sounds wonderful
Yer livin the dream bro, and i dig your take of neil youngs alabama too
You should come check out Picker’s Supply in Fredericksburg, VA. Ton of vintage guitars. Always a great collection.
Wonderful place.
When in the Knoxville area you should check out Ciderville which is a totally awesome place to go especially on Thursday they used to serve lunch with the bluegrass jam. Not sure if they’re still there but if they are you should check them out.
Ciderville is sadly no more
If you’re still in the area, you have to go by The Music Outlet in Sevierville! They have the best selection of martins old and new around. Family owned and run too! Great people. If you go by there, would love to see a video on it. They’re the best!!!
There's a Campbell's Music store near me in York County, PA. It was the place my father and I bought our first good guitars in the mid 60s. Robert Jr is carrying on with his father's business.
Mandolin hunter at the end 👍 now you’re talking my language 😂
I loooove mandolins. Should I do more Mando content?
@@JeremySheppard I’d watch it lol
@@JeremySheppard
Count me in for another yes to more mandolin content.
That store is amazing
Greetings from Knoxville my man! I've been in every guitar store in Knoxville except that one lol. If you're in the area you should hit up Campbell Morrells Music in Johnson City. There's also a pawn shop in tazewell and a store in Crossville that have some really nice instruments.
More videos like this please! I love small guitar shops. If you're ever in Omaha, NE check out Ground Floor Guitars. I think you'd dig it.
Hey there Jeremy! Another Jeremy here. Love your show. I'm hoping that one day you'll make it up here to Canada to check out some great Canadian made guitars. We have some spectacular luthiers here and I'm more than sure they'd appreciate your love!
I've played a lot of boucher, larrivee, art and lutherie, seagull and Norman. I have a house OM now too. I love Canada and its guitar builders.
@@JeremySheppard canada loves ya and the states too bro
Love your videos! Was wondering what kind of camera you use for these out and about vids? Thank you!!
Thanks, Chad! I'm using a Canon EOS R and a 16-35mm f/4 L here and some shots are the RF 35mm f/1.8
Definitely should have played that mcpherson!
cool
What are you playing at 2:30? Sounds great and that I should recognize it.
The National is not a '31. 14 fret Nationals didn't happen to 35-36. It's probably a '37 like he said...
d35...ok you have my attention now!
What model Music Man amp was that at...
.38 sec...?
The d-35 didn't come with open back tuners.
Enjoyed this video, nice shop. I miss the guitar and amp center. Hburg needs a place like this again!
Working on it... More details to come
Music to my ears!!! Sweeet
You've played Ed King's Les Paul?!? Isn't that the '59 that Jason Isbell ended up buying?
I played his 55 gold top
Ed King owned 3 original Bursts a 58, a 59, and a 60. Carter Vintage sold all three of them, and several more guitars and amps that he had owned.
Give me that Guild.
Mate I loved this video. Make this your niche YT video where you go and visit so called mum and pop stores. Yep mum not mom as im an Aussie living in NZ 🍻
Greetings from NZ btw
Cheers
Peter
I'm in! My brother lives in NSW and gives me some lingo. Hope to go see him this summer.
@@JeremySheppard dude if the world wasn’t so ruined by the Russia thing it’d be awesome to travel the world snd find so called mum and pop stores and do an episode on the town culture restaurants etc but that’s probably a whole sideways genre to what you’re doing.
Yeah I’m what’s called an “airforce” kid so i grew up everywhere.
Lived in Sydney as an adult for a while.
Ha
But Melbourne is me
Albeit live in NZ these days.
I have an Ibanez Pia Sun Dew Gold. That thing goes up in value every day of the week. Solar guitars 5 of those tbh the best necks ever in my old age. Got strats and a PRS Tremonti SE Standard which surprised me.
Almost as good as my fave Solar
We in the mandolin world call that mandolin it a Mickey Mouse mandolin. George in Montana
Honestly, you said cool about 50 times. I don't understand what's so cool about this shop. They have like five guitars I would even consider looking at. It's a small shity store. What is so cool about it I don't understand.
Most guitars sound decent or even pretty good, until you get a good one.
Ain't that the truth.
