    Subscribed! I have a 1976 D100 shorty I'm going to lower just like yours.

    Working on lowering my 84. I agree with the contrast. Don’t want it to look like you just painted the whole thing still assembled. I’m the same way.

    turned out looking really good. yea always have issues with brakes with a truck sitting for a while along with rusty bolts that tend to break.

    Those trucks look so much better dropped. Nice work on a cool old Dodge

    Ooo! Not expecting a turkey day video. Perfect for the downtime between meal prep and polycrylic application on some cabinets for the rec room remodel. Seeing this old Dodge tells me I really need to get my 85 crew cab Cummins project out of its decade slumber and moved to my new shop. As far as the bed to cab alignment, how are the cab mounts? On my 85 reg cab new mounts fi- Well, you just covered that as I type.... 🤣 well, as far as the lingering issue of alignment, just add some large fender washers between that cab corner mount to jack that cab corner a little. I had to do that to the core support on my 85 reg cab after new mounts. The bumper was straight to frame, but looked like it was bent when compared to the grill. Brackets were good. 2 fender washers stacked solved the 'look' fitment. Other than that, it looks really good, and I'm typically not a fan of lowered trucks, but for a vintage 2wd, a slightly modified stance with patina looks mint. You gonna put cherry bombs on it? And yeah, the apprehension of a Wag with a freshened, modern drivetrain is always there in the back of the mind. It was there on our road trip to OK and TX, but mechanically it did fine. Just exhaust damage from rough roads.

      Oh man I’ve always wanted to do a crew cab 1st gen dodge. Yeah man you need to get that baby out and going! Going through Termite now just checking things over before we leave. It’s been doing great but just first time trip nerves.

    Gotta figure out some upper control arms if you havent already. There is no more adjustment left in the stock uppers for caster and camber. I really need to do the axle flip on mine, I lowered it by taking my overload spring and flipping on top to flatten the leaf packs D:

      Will the Moog offset upper bushings work if available?

      @@mitchhall4243 I wouldn't know personally. I have tubular upper control arms.

    If the boots keep the grease in and the dirt and water out , they're good . Nice truck , nice shop . I had an '85 100 s/b , I loved that truck .

    Good man! Been doing these front conversions since the late 90's. This control arm swap is so much nicer than those dudes who do the ghetto spring chops. The dakota spindle swap is too sketchy imo. I picked up a pair of the B200 arms in november for 110 and 97 from carquest, dunno why the difference in cost but they were much much cheaper than any other option than a wrecking yard.

    I seen someone else lower thier truck just like this but didnt see them weld anything . What parts or whats the thing you welding on ??? Nice truck !!!

    • @TermiteOffroad
      @TermiteOffroad  Před 5 měsíci

      I welded the new perches to the axle, and the centering pin hole tab onto the shock mounts. If you buy an actual axle flip kit you don’t have to weld anything. They’re made to be bolt on. Thanks!

      @TermiteOffroad Do you remember a disassembled 68 Charger in Collins in 2012 ? It was at a shop on the side of 49. I barely missed buying it.
