    I got the Dining Plan for my 4-5 night visit in March. I used the Table Service for the Character Dining and usually got alcohol; usually that would be around $75 for one meal.

    • @ciderfan823
      @ciderfan823 Před 3 měsíci +1

      My first meal was at the Irish place in Disney Springs. I got the steak since I like steak and it was one of the more expensive items, and got a watermelon lime hard cider. For dessert, I got the bread pudding, which was good, but my stomach was full so I didn't finish it.
      Overall, I liked having it. My next visit is in July; I'm getting the quick service plan since I don't have any table service restaurants that I am wanting to visit.
      I didn't use the refillable mug except when I was leaving the resort and returning, but even that meant I used it around 8-10 times during my stay, which is worth it.

    Can you add a child service plan onto a Disney room for a 13yo? They don’t eat adult portions. Or can you only add a random child credit with DVC points?

    • @disneyworldvacationer
      @disneyworldvacationer  Před 4 měsíci

      No, the child cannot be older than 9 when the trip begins to qualify for the children’s dining plan. There is a option you have if you are doing the quick service dining plan though:
      Since everyone on the room reservation needs to have the dining plan, Keep your childs name off the room but add a fake childs name & choose a lower age. Then call disney to add the dining plan without having to purchase tickets for the fake child (can only be done through the phone). If you have dvc points or are renting dvc from someone, this can be done without calling disney, online through the dvc owners access. Keep in mind, if you do this, your child wont be able to take advantage of the extra magic hours since his name is not on the room , however, they MIGHT be able to add his name to the room at the front desk when you arrive even though he doesn’t have the dining plan. There are alot of details to it, but if you are doing the plan for more than a day or two, the savings will be substantial.

    • @disneyworldvacationer

      Yes! The nutella fruit waffle (my favorite) CAN be purchased with a childs quick service credit but NOT as a snack credit (it is considered an entree just like the chicken n waffle sandwich). The last time I used DDP was 2011. Can you still just purchase a 1 day park ticket or length of stay ticket with a 9 night hotel stay? AND do have to have a magic band? (I prefer the card.) 🤔🤔

    • @disneyworldvacationer
      @disneyworldvacationer  Před 7 měsíci

      Magicband is NOT required. The hotel gives you a card at your request and the mydisneyexperience app can be used through your smartphone as your digital “key to the world” card. The website states ticket required for length of stay but I’m hearing you can book just a room online and then CALL in Disney guest services to add the dining plan WITHOUT tickets which then allows you to add any amount of days ticket you would like. 👍

    • @disneyworldvacationer
      @disneyworldvacationer  Před 4 měsíci

      The kids snack credit is exactly the same as the adult snack credit so any age can order any snack and on the receipt and app, it’s all pooled together. So if you have 1 adult snack credit and 1 child snack credit left, it just shows your party has 2 snack credits left. However, for table service and quickservice meals, they are tracked separately for adults and children.

      Great question. When was the last time they didn’t give her the full 14 days? For me, in 2015 was the last time they programmed the cups just for the length of stay. Since then, every visit I made was the full 14 days. My understanding is it was causing issues to where people wouldn’t even have it covered for their length of stay due to technical issues so they just started doing automatic 14 day activations. Also, if you are selecting coffee or tea, those beverages do not have a cup scanner so they will work no matter what.

    • @disneyworldvacationer
      @disneyworldvacationer  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Correct, if you are trying to add an extra child dining plan, you will need a ticket or annual pass for that child UNLESS you are renting (or own) a dvc (disney vacation club) room. No package (ticket) requirement in that case. If you haven’t looked into renting DVC, please do. You will save alot of $$ and stay at deluxe hotels. If you do have a child with the dining plan & tickets, use their credit at the Yorkshire County Fish Shop for them AND yourself (you can use ALL their credits in one day if you want or multiple days, there is no limit) then use the adult credits at places that do have kids menus so you can get the adult meals at those locations.

      Great question! Yes I have confirmed all my recommended items are allowed on the plan. You are correct in hearing not all drinks are included. Those are the ones that are served in a souvenir container or are more than 1 serving. However, alot of places will give you a modified version of that drink without the container. For example, in my video when I recommended Ohana, I picked the backscratcher as my drink. I did not pick the Lapu because it comes in a pineapple which is considered a “souvenir container” BUT they will give you that drink in a glass instead of in a pineapple.

      Typically you can modify your reservation if you are 30 days or more from your trip. There can be alot of variables depending on if you booked dvc, or package directly from disney with tickets, etc. But most cases, 30 days or more, you can modify or cancel and rebook. Best way to do the split stay is to get the dining plan on the first part of your trip with tickets (if you don’t have an annual pass).

      No UNLESS you get the food to go ;) The Ohana dinner kids portion is ALOT of food to go, which I know they do for a fact, so that would be a great use of it. But I haven’t tried to order to go at other table service locations. Alot of places, especially in the theme parks don’t let you order to-go. However, I think if you have a reservation, then you explain to them you are just getting food for your son/daughter to-go, they will tell you we can’t box it up but you can sit, order, we bring you the food, and boxes, and you can do it like that. Hit or miss but worth try.
