    Obviously if they're selling it for $35 it's "cost engineered" and won't last forever, but for most people it's gonna be just the ticket for the limited use they'll be giving it.

    Harbor Freight still sells the NiCd battery version, but its days might be numbered.
    That corded reciprocating saw from Harbor Freight isn't too bad, but I hate that it doesn't have an electric brake, as it continues to cut for a few seconds after you let go of the trigger.
    Walmart and Harbor Freight have really improve the quality of their power tools in recent years. Not contractor grade, but still good for home use.

      @Mixwell1983 Před 5 lety

      Going to pick this up tomorrow and grab some blades from harbor freight.

      I bought the set that came with all 4. It was $100.00. The circular saw was messed up and wouldnt cut straight so they sent me a whole new set so i ended up with 4 batteries and 2 chargers. Returned the extra tools. The Impact is great works good. The drill sucks i wouldn't buy one but worth it for the set. Circular saw is honestly not bad for the money. Im happy with both saws. Immediately change the blade on the circular saw. It is night and day difference with a good blade. 24 teeth isn't enough. Im happy with the set and glad i bought it. I keep it on my truck in the tool box. I wanted cheap power tools that i wouldnt cry to hard over if they were stolen. Not a bad deal if you buy all 4. Even better if ya can get another charger and two batteries out of them.

    Just bought one and a 2. 0 ah battery and the single fast charger. There is now a double charger too. I'm impressed with the battery, fast charger and saw... The included charger... Meh. Anyway forv86 bucks tax included you can't get just anything but a black and decker saw and battery with no charger.... If you're lucky. Go to lowes and price "real" saws. Because of this, I had my doubts, but I needed to know if this (recip saw) is what I need for limbing smaller branches for my chipper. Now I know
    And with a pruning blade the saw is really great. I. Did so much on the first battery charge I can run my chipper for a good while now. Beyond expectations by far.
    I also have a corded saw and agree it's cumbersome and limited on our 2 acre property.

    Thanks for the post. Did u test it on cutting metal at all? nails n such? BTW, flush cuts are bad for your trees. you should come out an inch more depending on the size of branch ur cutting. that way when the tree tries to heal it has something to work with and can heal over. A flush cut like you did will not heal properly.

      With your fingers turn the round thing on the part of the tool where the blade installs (its either clockwise or counterclockwise, its spring activated so it might take some strength). Once you insert blade and release the round mechanism it spins back into place and locks the blade. Theres a small pin inside the spinning round thing that opens and closes as you turn and release. That pin goes inside a hole in the blades and is what locks it in place. i hope that helps. thanks

    Walmart has since upped the price on these to $50 along with their circ saw. At $39 it was a deal but $50 is too much. The battery charger takes 2+ hours to charge and at this point for a cordless circ saw id go with Harbor freights bauer. I have the drill and quick charger.. Id rather pay $50 for a bare tool than $50 for their circ saw with battery and a charger that takes 2+ hours. That's my stance on it if you have thw HF Bauer with quick charge.
    The recip saw is amazing though and works well, just a shame they upped the price on it to $50.

Ive used it to cut up a 20 foot pine tree, trunk and all. it took 3 batteries to complete the job, i also have two drills with the same model battery so it was all done in one session by swapping them out. the saw is good enough for general use around the house.
