Excellent as usual, Zach.
Thank you
If nothing else, the engledingle showed some spunk and won my heart ❤
Thanks for including the Makita on the test. I got hungry while watching and I was able to make a grilled cheese sandwich between the time it started and ended its cuts in naily wood.
Hey I include saws like the Makita so folks can have bathroom breaks
Thank you for reviewing these tools.
You are welcome sir.
Top notch as always zack
Thank you sir
Nice job 👍👍👍
Another entertaining and informative video man! I'm disappointed in the HT lol. Wonder if it would have done better with the 4.0 battery? Thanks for sharing
Oh yea the 4 AH would def do a better job for sure. Hopefully it breaking was a fluke.
I wish they would make an improved brushless version of the hyper tough! Right now there is a sneaky 2 pack on the walmart page bundling this regular recip with a brushless oscillating tool.
Good lord, that’s more $ in blades than most of the tools!
Thanks for the rundown, I’d been eyeballing the HT since the ratchet was a great deal, but I’ll steer clear.
I was surprised the HT did so poorly compared to Vevor. I will have to find out what broke. And yes - the blades cost more than the saws in some cases.
Holy crap. I truly don't need one of these but...$19 for the Engindot...not bad. I CANNOT believe the Makita.
Truly the funniest and most surprising video yet!
EDIT: Bought the Envirodoge. I can give it to my fiancee and have her clear branches.
Very nice! Thanks for watching the video. And congrats on the victory
Cool
Hmmm, and another comparison point: how easy is it to obtain additional batteries for each tool? Makita would likely just be a trip to Lowe's, Hypertough to China-mart, but the other two?
Batteries for the other 2 would be available on Amazon. Makita is Home Depot and Hyper Tough is Walmart.
Thats a fair point and why I will probably still be picking up the hyper tough. I have those batteries including 2ah and 4ah, and I know I could go get new ones anytime I want as walmart is less than a block away from my house. The top one is super tempting at $20 on amazon but it always comes back to batteries! Also I have a 20v hyper tough and 20v craftsman full size reciprocating saw anyway if I do run into much more demanding tasks, so a compact thats fairly good at a wide amount of tasks at a fair price and uses batteries I have a bunch of kind of seals the deal.
They jacked the $15 one up to $50 after your video 🤷🏻♂️
Update: just got the Enginedot from Amazon. Cleared some trees with it. Actually not bad but a ton of handshake and it took longer than I would have expected, even though it did knock em out. My old Sawzall would have annihilated the trees but I had to plug that in so I never used it. The Hyper Tough 20v is appreciably better, but not twice the price better.
The stock blade kept jumping out of the holder, but I replaced it with another one I had lying around and it's great.
Thanks for some feedback dude, your gear will get to you next week. Enjoy!
I think the Hypertough croaking puts it "dead" last (pun intended).
The 5 lb. weights may be "fair," but do not indicate how a tool might be used. What if the Vevor consistently stalled at 6 lb, but the Makita could reliably handle 10 lb? How would that affect their speeds? Skipping "fairness," and using each tool at or near its capacity, how fast can you cut the various pieces, using the pressure of your choice?
I tried different weights and 5 suited them. Including the Makita.
So vevor and HT have the same charger? Oh yeah, the HT's charger didn't come with the kit right? Cause they come with those little black & decker style charger, no? And are they all brushed?
They are all brushed. I found that most of these Amazon brand tools have similar chargers. They aren’t the same evidently because the charge rates are different and the contact points are different. HT does come with a different charger that takes several hours to charge.
@@HVACShopTalk Thanks for the clarification! 👍
That makita 2x4 cought me by surprise
If you get the hyper tough working again could there possibly be a follow-up video using the higher capacity batteries? Its just always interesting to see how much they change with the better battery haha. Also I think the first time it shut off was probably a heat thing. Second time I worry the motor died XD
Yes, it could have been heat since that test was so rigorous. I will do a follow up if possible. It did run again momentarily the other day.
Were do you buy the Vevor
Amazon is where I got mine.
Fun fact the vevor pulituo nanwei and altocraft and dna tools all take the same 12v battery
I like the video. Should point out that this was a very old brushed makita model and they have since made 2 compact recip saws(one being one handed). But I agree it is way over priced.and should be discontinued.
The Engine (Egindot) must have seen your review, it now cost $50. So does the Vevor, though it is currently on sale for $38. Hyper tough is $40, but out of stock, and the Makita still sucks for the money.
The Makita is slow but lasting. It might just like the tougher jobs.😀
You’re right about that one.
Availability of extra batteries and accessories makes me steer clear of the scAmazon brands...
These cheap saws all suffer from motor brush failures within a short time. They will eventually all fail, and the brushes are not replaceable so you need to replace the motor and press fit gear which is just not worth it on such a cheap tool.
