Sarah is selfish, Alan didn't even have a childhood, her problems were bad but in comparison to Alan no cigar
She at least was able to live in society, Alan was trapped in a death environment for almost 30 years

Always running from something and learning about a new way he could have died a second ago. The only time he could sleep was when exhaustion forced him because he never knew if his eyes would ever open again. And to top it off he was constantly being hunted by the only human he ever knew and it looked like his dad.
He had every right to be pissed at her and treat her like a backstabbing creature but he was supportive and kept trying to calm her down and help her through her fear.
I will never forgive her for trying to guilt him with her pain to try and not play the game.
No he didn’t wanna play either but the instant he realized he Had to play he didn’t run. She tried to at least 4 times before trying her guilt trip. And it was only at That moment that he got mad at her. He repeats to her the saying finally calling her out on the evil she did to him and she immediately tried to guilt him again. “I was alone.” Right after he had recited that he had been worse than alone.
She is a backstabbing, selfish brat that even let herself blame his dad for something she knows never happened, and even as she watched him look desperately for Alan. I know she couldn’t have helped because they didn’t believe her but she should have at least kept herself from believing that bull.

Alan’s mentality was still a bit childish but he was more mature than her and defended others from danger. He could have let the kids get hurt by the Lion and just left the house but he stayed and outwitted it.
Why Van Pelt calls him a coward I do not know. What? Is he supposed to step up to the barrel and angrily demand he do it? Does he want Alan to hurt him? The only thing he seems to run from in fear is Van Pelt. The only other human he grew up with. You can tell Alan does his best not to hurt him. He could have punctured him with that sword he threw but he aimed it to pin him instead.
Yeah he is afraid but not just to be hunted.. but to become the same corrupted hunter just to save himself. He’d have had to outwit and hunt the hunter to win. To destroy the only other human in the game.. he’d have to become that same hunter…
