This scene was so intense when i was a kid.
I like children's movies from the 80s and 90s.
They had a real edge to them.
The 90s not so much. The 80s definitely.
Cautionary tale type shit
@@javierburgos7 The 90s were the middle but once the mid 2000s hit it all became child friendly. Even Shrek came out in 2001 and it def had some raunchy moments.
Nowadays, it's a lost art.

Old Jumanji more scarier than new ones
@John Q. uh8uhu
CVBD
You for thank you for replying I do agree that the new Jumanji movies are less scary than the old ones for some reason
After the mid-credit ending, I'm holding onto the hope they go back to their roots... so to speak.
The new ones are supposed to be comedies
Personally, I like this concept with intelligent plants that acts more like animals than actual plants.
I think these plants give kudzu a run for its money as an invasive species
Plants are extremely clever, they feel when we hurt them , they connect with their surroundings, they hear our voices and get stressed if we scream, listen to music and can initiate war, of course depends of the species..amazonian plants can be evil
I think Poison Ivy would like these plants.
@@michaelwilliams5719very much so
I think plants really are smarter than we think. Some natives think so.
That smile and laugh Robin Williams does always makes me laugh 😆

Me, too. Even when Sarah said “Oh, my God! How could you do that?”
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
God I really miss that guy. The world is not the same without him.
He got her good.
Good Trick on Bonnie Hunt Robin Williams.
I like the part where Peter smirk at 1:47, after Alan trick Sarah. That was savage.
Omg I loved Sarah 😂

Me too hehehe
You just like it ? I laughed at it.
@@loughlin14 I’ll tell you what’s dangerous about these plants
this friggin plant scared me so much i couldn't be in the same room as the movie
I used to be scared of the plant, too. But I got over it.
Same here.
Thank God those Plants don't Exist, same with the Screaming Flowers from the Ruins (2008).
The part when Alan Parrish starts laughing upon tricking Sarah into playing is funny.
Robin Williams: (Sly Grin) Snickering.
Bonnie Hunt: (Overreactingly Hyperventilating) OH MY GOD, HOW COULD YOU DO THAT!!!???
When Alan said "Oh great." like it was just another one of those days, I had to laugh.
He was like.. “Here we GO!!! It now starting!”
When Alan told the others to stay away from the walls, I knew he was speaking from experience. How many times had he almost met his death while trapped inside the game?
And his "law of the jungle" quip? Absolutely priceless. Though I felt sorry for Sarah. She's already been traumatized enough.
I know. Sarah is traumatised but don't 4get Alan was the one who got sucked into the game & was trapped in a jungle for 26 years. He suffered alot worse than sarah. I'm glad alan told her that. "It ruined *your* life?" Then repeats what the game's crystal ball said "In the jungle u must wait till the dice 🎲 read five or eight". The game ruined both their lives especially alan's.
Sarah's reaction to the game is hilarious. Robin and Bonnie together in a scene is just perfection. They were great.
Can't believe that she hadn't forgotten what the game looked like for the past 26 years.
@@ShadrakJohnYou wouldn't forget the face of the one who killed your family. Why would you forget the board that sucked up your friend?
0:23
Alan's reaction to the game was shocking enough. It ruined his life after sucking him in & trapping him in a jungle for 26 years. At first, I wondered y he acted like that but the answer is all very clear now.
I have only seen parts of the new jumanjis. I liked this one a lot more.
her immediate response to seeing the game is the funniest
Just like putting a live Tarantula or Snake right in front of her.
Nightmare fuel. As a kid I could never look at another salad again.
Better eat your greens before they eat you XD
Yes, Even after all this year I still thinking that this is not a kid's movie, not even close 😂😂😂
And how *I* never got afraid of eating salad because of this?
If you order the pea soup. Make you eat it. Before it eat you. Hahaha ha
Well these vines can give kudzu a run for its money as an invasive species considering how fast it grows
New Jumanji: Comedy/Adventure. The humor is pretty straightforward and basic (as it should be) and geared towards children.
Old Jumanji: Adventure. Humor for both adults and kids while having a deeper plot. Darker and a lot more suspenseful.
Old Jumanji was a *W* compared to the new ones

“Harvest time!” I like that part, especially the part where cuts the vine and the plant retreats into the covered. Yeah that plant made the smart dissection
No, Alan made the "dissection."
Spaghetti
That line was actually improvised by Robin Williams, which only makes it so much better
Robin Williams reminds me of the Joker with his evil smile and laugh after he tricks Sarah into rolling the dice at 1:41. That was so sneaky of him.
He lobbied hard for the role of The Joker in Tim Burton's Batman.
I like Jack Nicholson's performance (he'll always be my favortie Joker), but part of me wonders what sinister darkness and quirkiness that Robin would have brought to the role.

She wasn’t killed, she just fainted. I think.
Yes she dies in that scene. However since we go back to 1969 when the game is finished, she’s alive again.

Its whimpering sounds creepy.
I think it's funny to see robin Williams as kind of the badass hero in this film. He's a veteran when it comes to surviving this game beacuse of how long he spent in the jungle.so I guess after 30 years of being in that Terran he became a Tarzan like character.
3:16 HARVEST TIME!
This is what I want from a Jumanji film, where we see the horrors of the Jungle and the characters are forced to survive in this dangerous environment, not what we've been getting. Seriously, the new films would have been so much better if they got sucked into the board game (not video game) and instead of being these super like characters, regular people force to traverse the dense jungles, surviving the wild life and vegetation. The new films don't have that sense of danger, that sense of urgency as it's just to humerous.
Agreed. This version was meant to be more horrifying. All the same, they made sure this one was comical too by bringing on Robin Williams.
Fortunately, the cartoon does provide a good amount of that
New ones are fun to watch though. Probably didn't need to be called "Jumanji", but you know todays Hollywood. If it's not an established IP, they are too scared to use it.
The new one isn’t that bad tho, it’s just we prefer the old one better
I completely agree with you.
"My father could barely hug me let alone murder me."

*The big yellow flower is DED!*
Bad idea. The plants grew all over the house, so using fire on them would set the whole place ablaze.
Judy literally died from one of those flowers
She was dying, but then the game ended & then it didn’t happen
@@joewhitehead3 : yup :(
Even with all the other shit they made up, this thing was easily and BY FAR the scariest part of the movie. Giant spiders and Ebola mosquitoes are at least things you *expect* to be dangerous. A 6-foot-wide flower that groans at you like a zombie Barry White? You can fuck right off with that.
Oh, and if this thing wasn't bad enough already, I just realized the inside of its 'petals' are covered with thorns. I never quite understood how this thing was supposed to eat you with such a small hole for a throat; now I get it. It doesn't eat you. It DRINKS you. After it reels you in with its vine tongue, it clamps its petals down over you and it grinds them over you like a huge set of teeth, shredding your body and letting your fluids run down its throat or soak into its petals. Judging by how soft and wet it looks in the middle, digestive enzymes might be involved as well, like a giant Venus flytrap or pitcher plant.
It takes these plants days - sometimes *weeks* - to digest a meal.

This clip shows that this movie will be better than the two remakes with The Rock because Alan is put in the forest or jungle of Jumanji and it's full of creatures that the world has never knew and it shows suspense and it builds up the seriousness of how the board game isn't to be messed with while the new one just shows regular survival and comedy and while it may be a good comedy movie it is not the correct approach for the movies
3:16 "Harvest time!"

Once as a kid, I had a dream where I was playing Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, but then Link was eaten alive by a Deku Flower and I got a game over. I then woke up in another dream where my house was "junglefied," rebuilt out of bamboo and covered with vines. Both flowers actually have a somewhat similar design - large, four petals and a hole in the center.
And then I saw Jumanji.
That's fitting given that Robin Williams, who starred in Jumanji, was a big fan of The Legend of Zelda and that he even named his daughter after Princess Zelda.
The most terrifying creatures in the original movie. Still get shivers when these weeds show up. I wonder why they are not in the sequels?
Because Jumanji itself was a jungle of death and not some "hard" game that only sometimes tries to actively kill you.
Plus, there's probably a whole part of the jungle with those vines and plants those people didn't have to come across at the moment.
Because the new Jumanji films aren’t sequels. They’re modern day remakes. A Sequel is a movie built off of the prior film and it in fact would have involved the board game and the old cast. Given Robin Williams death a sequel to this film isn’t possible.
@@christiand7580 Okay fare. But they are still in the same story line as the first movie. It was made clear in the beginning of welcome to the jungle.
