You're an absolute legend!!! My car developed the same symptoms a couple of days ago. I got a scan tool which has given me the error codes of P0481 & P0599. Im not cashed up and quite capable of swapping this over myself. I have quite a bit of electrical experience and wondered if there was a way to diagnose with resistance and you have absolutely cleared that up for me! Thank you so much. Couple of questions. Did you get the complete thermostat & housing or just the thermostat? Also is there a similar way to test the coolant temperature sensors? Thanks again, Keep up the informative work!
Hey mate, if you look later in the video where I test the resistance of the new heater resistor, you can see which part I had to get to replace it. Thanks for the comment and I'm glad the video could help you!
@@romanosautomotive yeah wanna get my hands on the GTC 505. Sometimes pulling out the scope takes times and this tool can hit up quick. Saw it for 250. Not sure about the scope+. Will read up on it some more
i remember changing a thermostat in a car in a few min now you have to take half the damn engine apart just to find out you gotta change the housing and all

Used to be able to get a thermostat for less than $10 and reused the housing. Made too much sense.

So you would hafto replace the housing or just the thermostat it self?
You have to replace that whole unit as I did in the video
