Modelo is my favorite standard beer, easy to drink and can be enjoyed at anytime. BUT I would suggest Bohemia for your next Mexican beer, that’s been my favorite Mexican beer.

I would have never guessed that Modelo Especial moved up the ranks and is now the #1 beer in the USA. I enjoy Modelo Especial on occasion, I like the Negra Modelo better. Lawrenceville, Georgia here.

Actually, ALL of Modelo's beers are very good for the price. Certainly not as good as a craft beer, but damn good for the price.
As a mexican I can tell you that you can only add lime (or make a chelada/michelada) to beer that you buy with the intent to get drunk rather than to enjoy its flavour. Like Corona beer, in order to make it drinkable.

I just had a Modelo Especial. While it’s far from craft beer flavorful, it has more taste than Corona. At this stage I’d say I prefer it to Corona.
I found these in a lidl in the uk ($6.30 for 4) this afternoon and tried one icy coled with the comlementary slice of lime and it was lovely...

Stomach issues have unfortunately driven me away from IPAs (and there are a few amazing ones here in my home state of Vermont!), so I've turned to lagers. I really enjoy Modelo Especial and my personal rating would be 4.0 out of 5. Loving your content from lovely Chester, Vermont! Ps., totally agree with you about fruit in beer - no way! 😁
Modelo is my go to beer for the usual party day if I am away from home and the easiness it is with enjoying. Definitely my top 3 with Stella Artois my #1
You should try canned version it holds the flavor better and no risk of skunkyness

I’ve been drinking a lot of Modelo recently, but I’m trying to get my hands on a Negra which the general consensus tends to tell me is tastier.
It's all over out here in Omaha. Grocery stores, gas stations, everywhere. And yes, I think it's better than the Especial.
I was looking for something for breakfast and found a lone Modelo in the fridge 😂 . So cheers from a traveler heading east but currently in Idaho!

I respect this guys reviews. For me you have to have modelo out of a can as the bottles get skunked. Also there are a lot of ways to make tacos so I don’t think that’s a valid analogy. I still like the review.
modelo is my favorite for lunch , modelo negra for seafood and modelo especial for meat, you should try cerveza Indio for a different coffee like taste, and just avoid cerveza Sol, that one sucks greatly

Rating is spot on. A good mexican beer but I think Dos Equis is better.
Dos Equis is far worse. Modelo is top Mexican beer followed by Pacifico and then Corona.
Forget bud light beer. Estrella Jalisco Beer is another good Mexican beer. Models beer are great beers “Nice”.

I can take or leave a Modelo, I'm sure not buying it. They charge you like it's some high end luxury beer. It's Yuengling when I'm home. Now working in California { no Yuengling here} so it's Coors banquet for now. I'm just west of you in Canton. Always enjoy your stuff.
Those Coors Banquet stubby bottles are my go to, domestic brews. Not bad at all. Pretty good and they're not to high priced.

I really like Modelo I think it has a better flavor profile than any lite beer. I don't drink a lot of beer so I go for ones that taste good rather than ones that have less carbs. I put orange wedge in a cheap beer that tastes like crap to enhance the flavor not because it's the popular thing to do.
funny thing is craft breweries are making mexican style lagers with lime already in it. Buenaveza from stone is one I enjoy.
