I can't recommend them highly enough. I've loved their music for years and finally got to see them in Santa Barbara CA in August at the Lobero Theatre. Just incredible live performers - they were so warm, funny, and really made an effort to connect with the audience. It didn't hurt that much of the audience were family and friends since they are local boys who grew up just down the freeway. A truly enjoyable experience.
They're altogether, all together, original and delightful. Still...some hear echoes of Simon and Garfunkel, others hear a trace of the Everly Brothers - I'm thinking the Smothers Brothers :-).
An old English Folk song from 1974, hahaha!! I love Pink Floyd and I was sure that was John Paul White from the little thumbnail pic, love the Milk Carton Kids & the merch talk was hilarious 😂
Their cover of Wish You Were Here is on the same level as Jimi Hendrix cover of Dylan’s Season Of The Witch, they both took a song which they obviously respected and took it in an entirely different direction.
Please please... does anyone has this version without the conversation... Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the humor tremendously, but I want to "steal" it in mp3 to listen to it forever... Anyone, anyone???
The fact they chose this song demonstrate impeccable taste. Understanding why they chose that delivery method of the song means that you are a MIlk Carton Kids fan.... it’s what they do!
Hmmm, you're entitled to your opinion, as shallow as it is. I suspect that if you're going to trash something though, you should perhaps explaining your rationalization. Since you didn't though, I'll just write your opinion off as a boneheaded statement. As for me, I believe it honors a great band, with a incredible interpretation and arrangement. Well done!!!
This repaired a badly broken day and I am so grateful.
By far, the greatest band Ive discovered for myself, in a very, very long time...
yih!!!
I never, EVER, get tired of listening to these guys.
Same
Just a beautiful cover of the song. I am a Folk and Bluegrass singer growing up in the 50's and 60's and this is just wonderful stuff.
Any person who appreciates these guys has awesome taste. Thanks Sean 😎
Wow!!! Love these Guys so Much! Like a Breath Of Fresh air!!!
the best cover of wish you were here i've ever seen
I never thought I’d find a version I enjoyed more than the original - I just did
Never
Great harmony ! Amazing flatpicking, Kenneth ! Good to hear persistent humor by Joey !
Very cool. Great musicians and pretty funny fellows as well!
If you're going to cover this song, you'd better knock it out of the park. They did just that.
The bridge into the last verse, oh my!
Absolutely brilliant, the humor and the music.
"These peoples' kids are grown".... So funny because it is so..
Absolutely beautiful😊❤️🎶😊❤️🎶
Just seeing this now. Jerry Douglass and friends sitting in with them, covering Floyd... Pretty special!
Stunning version, come to Dublin when the air is all clean again please......
Crying laughing at the stage banter then touched deeply by their homage to Pink Floyd's homage to Syd Barrett
Fast forward to 6:00 if you wanna listen some great music.
literally brings tears to my eyes
Agree. Is the Smothers Brothers routine normal for them? Entertaining. The guitar work always makes me think of Dave Rawlings.
epic bants too. Love these guys.
All this and John Paul White, too? Fabulous!!
late to the show..the world knew i needed to smile and laugh so i found something that made my soul smile xx thank you so much
I need to see these guys live. A new favorite 🖤
Me too!!!!!
You must, they're great!

Touché !❤
Would I love to hear these guys sing Scarborough fair or For Emily, or Annie's song.
Glad to see these guys are finally getting some serious recognition.
such a unique version, it moves me everytime

OUTSTANDING
An old English Folk song from 1974, hahaha!! I love Pink Floyd and I was sure that was John Paul White from the little thumbnail pic, love the Milk Carton Kids & the merch talk was hilarious 😂
If the music doesn't make it Joey can be a stand-up comedy! But, their music is outstanding!
Song should be called "Wish you would play the song already". Starts at 6:06 folks.😮
A highlight of any Milk Carton Kids show is the stage banter that just kills me and is so worth the wait to the song.
wow.... that was so so good
Just Brilliant........
FUNNIY AND TALENTED AF!
6:04 music
~Amazing magic!
Old Floyd would be proud boys, right proud.
The actual song starts at around 6:00.
Good stuff x
Smothers Brothers meets Simon and Garfunkel. Music starts 6 minutes in it.
Eastman D thank you!
You forgot Welch/Rawlings, but otherwise I agree.
I just commented to my friend on line about the similarity to the smothers Bros.with the comedy included
Do I see within the stage band in the background of this video footage = Jerry Douglas ??? Greatest Dobro player on the planet?! GBjj
the dog bowl!
This is really good, especially for a phone camera [i suspect].
Starts at 6 minutes
Thanks ! I was almost ready to go to another thing
🤦
Nice work ! (love the rap !)
I thought I couldn’t feel anymore…😭
Who is the backing band?
Their cover of Wish You Were Here is on the same level as Jimi Hendrix cover of Dylan’s Season Of The Witch, they both took a song which they obviously respected and took it in an entirely different direction.
Was this at the Birchmere? If it was, I was there.. cool !!
🤣👏❤️
Bahahahaha!!!
Beware of any putdown humor. It grows; it reflects... remember Sonny and Cher
Sonny and Cher were madly in love to their dying days
Is that Jerry Douglas and Dave Swarbrick in the band?
Yes, this was actually from a Trans Atlantic Sessions Live Tour and the Milk Carton Kids and John Paul White were some of their guest performers.
Can you imagine Swarbrick playing something that NPR-friendly? Aly Bain, I'd assume.
@@jonkiparsky7369 it's Aly

Anyone, anyone???
Spotify
Welp, I can never hear another cover of this song now….
They sound like the everly Brothers
Floyd would be pleased.
Not Roger Waters.. he's a bit weird
Tickled pink!
Ask biden.
Why do people put up phone camera fuzzy junk like this? Do they really think this is worth looking at?
Worth listening to. Close your eyes if it offends.
I'd like to thank the guy who put up this particular piece of phone camera junk. I'd have never heard this otherwise, and it was beautiful.
Tonetwisters it’s great.. if you can’t be there
Great listening ...
I enjoyed it
This must be the worst cover ever of wish you were here.
I thought it was pretty good!
Ian Pratt the harmonies are tight and sound beautiful, their voices blend very nicely!
The fact they chose this song demonstrate impeccable taste. Understanding why they chose that delivery method of the song means that you are a MIlk Carton Kids fan.... it’s what they do!

This comment proofs that you sir have no musical taste and knowledge. Calling this perfect rendition of a classic „worst ever“ is just stupid.
