I have a gs spyder I absolutely love it just did the clutch and found the input shaft bearing was bad it’s a common problem in these cars but the transmissions are solid otherwise
Input shaft bearing I had the same issue I had a hard time finding the part also but got a guy who does Honda transmission to do the replacement for me

how much did it cost?
@@stupit1679 I lucked out and the guy only charged me 350 compared to 1300 I was quoted by a shop who did not have the bearing either so I believe I won there then I drove the car from Los Angeles to Seattle and back with no problem 😉
I have the same issue on mines is a 3.0l 5speed manual so replacing the input shaft bearing will fix that clunck?
I like this car because it is a convertable, so cool!
Whoa! That car dies have a bad manual transmission, I had the same problem once

Would this also affect the 4g eclipse and the gs trims?
it’s possible it’s just the clutch going out

What type of exhaust is on your car ? Or what did you do for that sound ? It's pretty good for that 4 banger lol
It’s actually a V6, this is the eclipse GTS trim. The GS has the 4 banger
@@AmericanVsImportsI have a 2003 GTS Spyder, Manuals are 5 speeds, Automatic/Automatronics have the 4 Speed
@@dominicioye I just picked up a 03 eclipse n ima mod tf out of it, guy I got it from says it’s straight piped all the way thru and no cats
What muffler do you have?
Did you find out what was wrong in the transmission

Not specifically, but I did get the transmission replaced with a used manual transmission and that worked for me! $$

Yup that's what happens when you drive a car slamming it into gears every day , banging gears and riding the clutch over and over. What did you expect was going to happen kid ? Haha
