A bright pink blush is a MUST for me. What's the one thing that brings your face to life?
My skin has been ruddy my entire life so blusher only makes me look like I've got a high fever, lol ! For me the game changer was reading an old, OLD issue of Allure and discovering tightlining in my forties. It defines my almond shaped, hooded eyes without making them visually heavy---the best thing EVER and so annoyed I didn't know of this technique earlier in life.
Definitely a bright pink blush also but foundation MUST be a cool tone to look alive. Im almost 70 and if I could only have hair your color I would look 10 years. younger. My naturally dark brown ages me and look haggard. Your hair is Absolutely Stunning.
Hydrated skin. Nothing works well if my skin is overly dry especially in the winter months.
My concealer and bronzer.
Thankyou.
Absolutely. Healthy. Alive. Vibrant. It's even more important to focus on a healthy glow as you get a bit older!
I’m 60 years old woman I use blush the same reasons you do so I don’t look pale and invisible
My kind of make up look! Simple, quick & lively. No point trying to cover up every crease & wrinkle. Makes you feel lived & joyful 👍🏼👍🏼
Oh, my, I would KILL for that hair, it’s stunning, gorgeous, I’m SO JEALOUS. I haven’t even gotten to the make up yet, 😂
Gosh, thank you!
Thank you, I am 59 and was stuck with 80's make up routine. Have not been wearing make up for years and want to start back.
I love this video! I’m old enough to be your mother! Got a lot out if this! You are adorable and I LOVE your curls!!
I am obsessed with blush! It makes me look healthy and youthful at age 59.
Enjoyed watching you for the first time! You’re authentic and down to earth. And that hair! ❤
I always love the look of eyeliner on everyone but I just can't seem to put it on myself correctly as I wear glasses and can't see very well without them. You look very nice.
Hi! I turned 53 yeasturday! 🎉
But I gave up makeup +10 years ago. 😊 But with my Mexican Native American genes I feel okay without makeup.
But you always look fabulous Ms. Rene.
This is great! I have been out of the habit of wearing makeup for years and, wanting to get back to it, needed a refresher. Don't want to look vampy or exotic, just a bit brighter, smoother, and maybe even younger. Thank you!
Just watched this and found your channel today. oh my word. I'm in my 60s and love your attitude, presentation and overall spirit. I cannot wait to watch more of your videos. Keep up the great work and thanks for the fun encouragement today. You are precious.!
Welcome!!! So glad to have you on my channel 💕
I love, love, love this video! I've wanted to change up my makeup routine now that I'm 54, and this has inspired me! Thank you, Renee! ❤
You are so welcome!
I now use intatox for bags under my eyes. Im 72
I've got Hourglass' Vanish Stick Foundation!
@@nickadams1519 Why do you ask?
LOVE the clinique lip gloss too, thanks for the 5 min makeup for us!
I really love how you did your makeup....You do look really bright & fresh. The lip color really ties the whole look together looks beautiful on you.Ty for this great video😊
I love my blush too !!!
I really like your makeup look. I'm 59 years old. One thing I read years ago, use your ring finger around the delicate skin of the eye. It is true that the ring finger is puts less pressure. And I used to think mascaras were all alike until I found Thrive tubing mascara.
Thank you for the video.
I use that exact Neutrogena face cream. I do love it. First face cream that I have found that I can tolerate. I too cannot tolerate fragrances or stuff on my face that I can feel that it is in there. Which is why my make up is mineral powder. Blushes and eyeshadows are also powder. No smell and it keeps forever, because there is no moisture in it.
Well I really needed this "pick me up"!
My makeup and skincare stash got an update and a few other ideas are popping.
Thanks for sharing an excellent 5 minute & Go video.
Seriously jealous of your hair. Oh my goodness.
I use an eyelash curler too Renee. I remember you using the Ole Henrikson moisturizer I believe. Good to know the Neutrogena is even better. I will definitely try that. I have the exact ABH and brush combo for my brows. You have such a nice simple, doable routine. Very pretty end result. Love the lip combo.
Your skin looks so healthy without the makeup! Thank you for the great tips. :)
awww thank you!
Love this video, you are so real and cute! It’s my first time watching you. I’m 63 and I used to only use a bit of bronzer ….but as I got older I like a brighter lip gloss and brighter cheek. It makes all the difference. You also use a mix of high end and drug store which is like so many of us. I’ve subscribed. Thanks for your work and content. ❤
I'm 67 and just recently discovering how to apply makeup correctly. It's fun and makes me feel good.
Your skin is beautiful even before makeup!:) I have that neutrogena hydroboost in my cabinet, I guess I need to use it!! Lol
I'm 58 and I thank you so much for this video
You're so welcome!
Great video Renee! Something I do when using the eyelash curler. I heat it with my diffuser a bit, then put the warm curler on my lashes and press. Leave there until it cools a bit. No need to pump it like you're doing. The curl is more prominent and lasts much longer. Give it a try!
Yes...I DID enjoy your video!! Am inspired to go try your tips!! Thanks!
Please do! Thanks for watching!
I love pink blushes! They look really good with our greylo
I have to try that Hydro Boost - have heard such good things about it. I use the Elf Holy Hydration most of the time except winter. I've been using the new Loreal True Match foundation and think it's my fav right now. Very lightweight but buildable. Love your hair!
I love Neutrogena - and Aveeno! When I was more oily, they’re the only moisturizers that didn’t clog my pores or create a shiny mess, and now that I’m finally a little flaky at 59, they’re still my go to! I also love Paula’s Choice, but mostly in the winter when I need something a little more moisturizing. You look awake and natural - exactly what I go for! Great video ❤
New subscriber over 50, also from and reside in KY! Loving your channel 😊
Hey neighbor...welcome!!
I do a very similar thing when I’m doing a medium makeup and hair day. Quick, medium amount of makeup, a headband and small hoop or drop earrings and I feel great. Lately I’ve been doing more super minimal makeup which is an all over color corrector serum to tone down redness, some spot concealer where needed, brow gel, the tiniest bit of brown mascara on junk the outer lashes, the tiniest bit of cream contour/ bronzer and a touch of bright pink liquid blush….so fresh, natural and pretty without looking too done.
I love your make-up. It looks so light and natural. I don't like these dark, heavy looks for the eyes (especially for us older ladies). Unfortunately, I have absolutely no talent for putting on make-up and always end up looking rather clownish, so I never wear it. I never got lessons on how to put it on. My mom, bless her heart, wore bright read lipstick and that was it as far as her make-up was concerned and she'd always blot it on a kleenex. I have nothing I use to bring my face to life (so likely look like I'm dead) because I'd look like a clown if I put anything on. I think the one time I tried to use mascara I got it up my nose.
Have you ever visited a Bobbi Brown makeup counter? She’s always specialized in a natural look, and her counter reps are great at it. You could stop by and ask for a ‘natural makeover’ with as few products as possible, and they’ll teach you how to do it yourself at the same time. Anyhoo, just a thought - it’s fun, no obligation, and they’re not going to make you feel inadequate or pile on something glittery in baby blue. 😁 Oh, and there’s no obligation to buy, but you might walk away feeling more comfortable with playing with a little makeup!
@@leapintothewild Sounds like a great idea. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip.
@@janhankins911 Hope it’s fun for you!! And I should’ve added that there’s not a darn thing wrong with how we look, makeup or not. 😉 Besides, a smile is the best makeup ever!
I love neutrogena hydro boost gel cream! It's my go-to as well! Your makeup looks so pretty and natural, definitely my kind of look...thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you for this tutorial… simple! Will start implementing in my daily routine ❤
You look terrific Renee! Natural, well-groomed, vibrant and polished!
I (early 50's) have very sensitive combination skin (from very oily to very dry, with everything in between) and pretty much gave up finding a moisturiser that worked for me. Two years ago I was given a small bottle of 100% pure cold pressed jojoba oil (which is technically not an oil but a wax ester like our natural sebum) and my skin has never been better! I use it all over; face, eyelids, lips, hands, body, calloused elbows and feet. It works so well for me I don't need to use anything else.
A 2-3 drops does the trick for my whole face and neck. Wrinkles are minimised, skin feels soft, supple and hydrated. It sinks in quickly leaving behind a powdery feel, absolutely not greasy! My sandpaper elbows and heels are gone too!
Nothing works for everyone but it's so affordable it's worth a try. Brand doesn't really matter as long as you buy cold-pressed 100% jojoba (there should be no other ingredients!). It took me nearly a year to get through a 250ml bottle (7-8 oz I think) even though I use it every day (morning & night on face & hands, after bath /shower on the body).
Sylvia Dionne, where do you buy this oil. I want to try it.
Looking good Renee.
@@dorothyhatcher4714
I get mine off of Amazon because it's convenient but really you can get it in so many places!
What you need to look for :
- 100% jojoba oil (Botanical name is Simmondsia chinensis seed oil). There should not be any other ingredients listed.
- cold-pressed (if it doesn't say that it's either extracted with heat or solvents/chemicals, both of which alter the oil).
I'm in Europe so giving you a link probably won't be of help. But I just checked and my current bottle (250 ml / 7.5oz) was from a spanish plantation and cost 13 euros (about 15$ US).
It's not a miracle (nothing is!) but it works great for me.
I use the NIXE dry oil for the hair, face and body. It's a little bit spensive but the smell that lives in the end os fabulous❤❤
As I look for easy ways to look great without fuss and lots of products, I liked this video. I especially love your tip. In 2000, I moved into an apt building I didn't know had had a major flood on the first floor that was never properly cleaned, although I lived on the second floor. It was a horrid, traumatic experience that had a drastic affect on my entire health. The first six months, my skin began to change, starting with the soles of my feet. No dermatologist or cream has helped fix this problem, which changes. The rest of my skin went from oily to dry, including my scalp. I've adjusted things, but nothing helps on my once lovely feet. I love easy, so I'm going to try this. It's definitely a no-lose purchase; lots of choices on Amazon. Thank you so much!
i use Tarte natural beauty as well, and I have fair cool skin over 60. Don't be afraid of the color. I love it.
I love it! I also do a 5 minute face. We also have similar hair🥰 I love big hair ❤ And I love hair bands. I'm 50 and even though I see some channels that say at my age, I shouldn't wear barrettes or hairbands. Welp, it's falling on deaf ears because if it makes me feel pretty and youthful, I'm doing it! 🙌
Renee - Believe it or not the Wet n Wild stick foundation is amazing - really!! We seem to have a similar skin tone - I use Cream Beige. The Dewy Liquid Foundation in the same shade is also amazing. Also, try an eyelash primer - it´s not just a gimmick. The L´oreal Lash Paradise lash primer is awesome.
I use many Wet n Wild makeup. Love their line. Also use Loreal lash primer for years. Love that too
Thank you for your help you always look young ❤
Does this primer work to make minimal, short lashes look thicker? I rarely wear mascara these days, as aging's done a number on certain parts of my hair. I've still got the same thick, gorgeous hair on my head I did in my 30's (just turned 69), salt and pepper now and I get tons of compliments. I mention it, because my hair grows faster than ever before and I need more haircuts, but my eyelashes and eyebrows (which I never over curled or over-plucked in my younger days) are disappearing. I don't understand this sharp contrast. Still, I've always used mascara, a little eye shadow/liner, cream blush and lipstick for quick outings or even just at home, and I miss the mascara part. My eyelashes are almost invisible, even with mascara. Help, please! Tks much.
Wow looking great lady !
Thank you kindly
Fun to watch! You look "put together," but not overdone. Looking good, girl!
🎉Turned 56 yesterday, and watching this as I try to rush out the house this morning. Reminded me of the importance of moisturizing! Thanks 😊
Yes yes....always moisturize 😊
Great video! Loved the tip on the eyeshadow. The only 2 things I would add are a good sunscreen and primer since I have visible pores and old acne scars. I’m sure others like you with great skin skin can skip the primer. Definitely need to try that mascara!
thank you for sharing this video. I have deep set eyes and 57 now. very helpful
Before makeup, I always use vitamin C and my moisturizer. Sometimes I just use a good tinted sunscreen, concealer and blush if I’m not in the mood for foundation. A little dab of Amber Rush eyeshadow, mascara and lip gloss and I’m done!
I am interested in a stick foundation so I may need to try the Hourglass.
I love Hourglass products...they have silky light coverage that can build if needed. It's doesn't get cakey or show on my skin at all. And with the foundation stick, I can really control how much I'm using and blends easily with the brush.
Do you wear sunscreen?
What is your recommended tinted sunscreen? Love the quick makeup look!
@@christifaulkner2241 Elta MD UV Elements SPF 44 is what I use and love it! Got samples from my aesthetician and ordered from Amazon.

You look great thank you for all of the tips and I’m definitely going to try the Neutrogena products that you mentioned because I need some new ones and I’m tired of paying the higher prices!! I definitely girl my eyelashes as well. It really does open up the eye 🙂
I love the HydroBoost moisturizer....and I prefer the fragrance-free version myself. It glides on sooo silky and spreads easily. Plus I don't feel like I have to use it sparingly because it's affordable so I can cover my neck and chest too.
Thank you for the tips, great video! Looking forward to a skin routine.
Coming soon!

The Neutrogena HydroBoost Moisturizer is wonderful! When I first got it, I raved about it to my husband every night. It's silky and feels good on my face. So good that I stopped buying my other expensive moisturizer.

so beautiful love your hair another fun video thanks for all the great tips
Glad you liked it!!
Looking good Renee! Great tips!
Thanks so much!
No, happily ❤️married!!
Thank you Renee!
You are so welcome!
I like using a CC cream or tinted moisturizer ( with concealer over problem areas), light brow filling in, mascara, then use my lipstick for blush and eyeshadow so it matches, and the cream of the lipstick gives my cheeks a dewy look. If I use eye liner I use a brown, and smudge it out so it's even softer.
My face looks so much better when I do my brows too....I'm with ya!
You look lovely. I will try some of your brrands but need to save for those items. Especially the Neurogena moisturizer and others primer. Thank you for the quick 5- minute make up.
Such a pretty look.
Thank you!
I love your tutorial! You look great, and I learned a lot! Thank you, Sue 😁
You always do great videos the makeup was great so was your fasting 18/6 wonderful thanks again
You look gorgeous!!😍
Thank you I needed these tips. You are beautiful.
PERFECT!
Thanks you!
I love love love this video. Your hair is beautiful. I was looking for inspiration to change up my make up routine and I found it in this video. Thanks so much.
You are so welcome! 💗
You are beautiful. I have the hardest time matching my skin to a color. I have light/fair skin but I always seem to pick a color lighter than what I am and I look washed out. Is the best way to just order a couple and return what doesn't work? I don't know if makeup can be returned. Thank you.
Your beautiful light make-up is so pretty with just the right glow. You look beautiful and vibrant. I use a pink or peachy color cream blush which is a must for me. Also a translucent pop or a thin pop of color on my lips. Nothing thick. As I've gotten older my lip line gets those bleed lines when I add lip stick and the color bleeds over the lip making me look old. That's the hardest part to deal with. Often I use my blush for both lip and blush. Enjoyed your video today Renee. Have a great weekend.
Thanks for sharing!! Same for me!
