You are very talented! All of your ideas are brilliant!
@@ericneubauer7062 Hi Eric, you are too kind. Thanks for watching the video. All the best with your board! Cheers Simon
I took your laptop bag idea, awesome! i found an old Dell bag not only does it keep my pedals safe but it also gives me additional storage for cables
Hi Roberto, glad the idea helped. Thanks for watching - please do subscribe, there are heaps more videos on the channel and 2 new ones every week. All the best Simon
Thank you 🙏. I can relate to having to dig out all the pedals and cables and run everything, then play for a hour and pack it all up before my better half starts crying about the mess I’ve made.
Choices are , leave it out and fight with the princess or make a pedal board that I can pull out and plug in…..🧐🤔
Much more sanity at home to get some Velcro and a scrap of wood….
Hi mate, yes paddle boards are the answer to a happy home my friend. Thanks for watching the video, much appreciated. Please subscribe for two new videos every single week. All the best, Simon
Genius! I love the DIY creativity. So functional and useful.
Thanks mate - needs must! Thanks for watching the video. I love this little board.
I've been building my pedal boards lately out of left over wood, they've really turned out nice & keep getting better with every one i build & I've built a few different sizes for the few different situations to fit my needs. I put a little finish on the sides & just stick velcro to the entire top & cut little slits in the velcro for patch cables & power supply leads & it really cleans up & looks nice
That sounds perfect! I love a bit of home made ingenuity... Thanks for watching. Stay tuned for regular lessons and great vids. Cheers Simon
I love me an mxr phase 90, so that’s two of us.
Don't tell anyone else Chris, let's keep it between us ;) - all the best Simon
I always build my own for the same reason; I'd rather spend the other money on pedals.
I find old wood a lying around, cut it, drill it, nail it, and paint it.
If I wind up needing more space that I rearranging pedals won't fix, I can always build bigger one cheap enough.
Absolutely agree. Thanks for watching. All the best Simon
I going to return the pedal board that i bought today and make one. Thanks for this idea.
Good for you Ezra! Thanks for watching. For more helpful tips and lessons subscribe (and hit the bell!) for 2 videos per week. Cheers Simon
You made me laugh soo many times. You’re soo cool the way you built your board !! Inspired to do the same

The pedalboard looks great!
Hey Scott, thanks for watching the video. It's a great thing - so easy to put together and so functional. All the best, Cheers Simon ps sub for 2 new videos every week
That Orange Burst is legit! I built my pedalboard out of scrap wood I had in the shop. I designed it to fit my needs and painted it black. Totally happy with it!
Is that a second Orange Burst on the shelf?
Hey Brian, I'm glad that you liked the video. Yes, that's a second orange burst on the shelf. For a while I used to use 2 on the board.
Great to hear your board is going well too. Thanks heaps, I’ve tried a few pedals but always had trouble with a heap of noise,, and mainly had boss ones, so not cheap? Junk, is there a secret, ie patch lead quality etc , luv your vids thanks 😊
Hey there, Noise can be a problem for sure. The first thing to think about it isolated power. Like the Fuel Tank junior or the Vitoos ISO 8. That should definitely help. Thanks for watching! All the best Simon
Wish i had a klon lying around. Lol
Ha! Don't worry it's a Klone, not a Klon. Thanks for watching
What did you use to secure the pedals to the board, just good-ole' velcro?
Also, just a cut of 2 X 4 drilled to the back top to give it the tilt?
Hi Will, yes just velcro. There are different types though. Get a nice wide one (www.swamp.net.au/hook-and-loop-tape-for-effects-pedal-boards-38mm-1.5-inch-per-metre?gad_source=1) and yes on the 2x4 for the lift. I just stapled and gaffed it all together. 5 years now and still going strong. Cheers, Simon
Awesome thank you so much. I'm stoked to try this out!@@SimonMorelguitar
@@willclarkneptune You are welcome - all the best with it.
How do you get the pedals to stick to the board?
Hi Pigeon, thanks for checking out the video. Go pick up a roll of Velcro from your hardware store. Cheers Simon
did you use velcro ? how much ?
Hi Julio, Thanks for wathcing. Yes to the velcro, I think I might have forgotten to mention that bit? I don't know where you are in the world, but I just buy the double sided stuff at a hardware store, you don't need any guitar special expensive stuff this would work fine. (www.bunnings.com.au/hookz-25mm-x-1m-black-hook-loop-tape_p3962501). Enjoy putting the board together! It's a lot of fun. Please sub for regular lessons - all the best, Simon
Nice video. What would have been really nice would be to make mention of the power supply. Some power supplies have enough amperage to handle several pedals so I bought a gang cable that split one power supply into several plugs. Horrible HUMMMMMMMM once turned on. Unusable. Seems you have some type of isolated power supply mounted on the bottom of your board. Since you're so thrifty, your recommends on that would be a nice addition. Thanks!
Hi Bob, thanks very much for watching. That sounds like a video in itself! Isolated power is the best solution. The power supply on the small board is a T-Rex fuel tank. That's good for analogue pedals but not great for digital pedals. On my main board I use a vitoos iso8 power supply. That thing can power anything. Do subscribe for more videos and hit the bell for notifications. All the best Simon
Btw the fuel tank I picked up second hand for about 100aud. The vitoos was new
@@SimonMorelguitar Thanks for the info. Wouldn't have known the isolated power supply would make a difference with digital vs analog pedals. A video on that would be incredible!! I gave you a thumbs up and subscribed. Thanks!!
@@bobjohnson5218 thanks Bob. It's all about how much power they draw. For example all the boss analogue pedals would be fine with the Trex, but digital pedals for example a Syncopy delay (Current draw:
250mA) won't work.
@@SimonMorelguitar Thanks so much for replying to my posts. One more thing if you don't mind. Seems many of these isolated power supplies are over $100 USD. Amazon has several under $50 USD ie. Donner, Joyo & Vangoa. Any comments on those? Thanks again.
That’s me!
Thanks for subscribing by the way! Feel free to spread the word. All the best Simon
I used a leather briefcase I got at a thrift store for $5.
Perfect! I love that. Thanks for watching
Two bucks...now that I can afford.
I know right! There is value available if you look for it... thanks for watching. All the best, Simon
Ffs just buy a pedalboard. I bought mine (palmer pedal bay 60) for 77€ and it came with a bag and velcros and even with the elastic bands for the power supply.
You guys give over 2000$ for pedals and you cant afford a decent pedalboard of 77$?
Hi Μάριος Στάμος, thanks for watching - great to hear strong opinions. I'd rather spend the money where it counts, that's all. I guess it's subjective, I'd rather spend the AUD$125 on something rather than the infrastructure. All the best! For more less triggering videos, do subscribe - new stuff every week. All the best Simon
don,t know how to power each one mmmmmm
Hey Jack you could either use a power supply (czcams.com/video/a_7dGX86v-0/video.html) or something like a one spot. Thanks for watching, happy building! Cheers Simon ps ps if you'd like to get charts, extra lessons and even more guitar content you can get that at patreon.com/simonmorel
