  • In part 56 I neglected to record the loco in reverse. This was kindly pointed out by viewer 47606odin. Luckily I am off work today, so to the shed for some more running....

    What's interesting is how running a chassis on air will often drain a large compressor to a standstill.

    • @no23mk2
      @no23mk2  Před 4 lety

      Yes - I wondered that too. Very annoying when it starts up!

      @@no23mk2 I think it has to do with the expansive quality of steam not present in compressed air.

    Good to see it running after all these videos! It runs as well in forward as it does reverse, which model engineers know can be a trade off for good valve events in forward with reverse sometimes been less than ideal. And I believe another celebration is in order.......we’ve actually heard you talking to us 😀 Regards. Rob

      Thank you Rob. Yes, I was pleasantly surprised that it actually ran ! When it ran in both directions equally well - then it suddenly became beer o'clock!!! I knew I had to put the reverse run video up pretty quickly and couldn't be bothered with the editing of text etc. So just talked for a bit when the bloody compressor would allow! Cheers Craig

    Hello. Could I ask a question? I notice that in this video, and in the previous one, that when running the die block isn't either at the top or bottom. Is the position that you have it clamped in where 'Full Gear' would be? Thanks.

    I'm no machinist, nor train enthusiast, however I always look forward in anticipation to watching your next videos, and the progression of your project. Congratulations on what must be a milestone in this awesome construction. I've watched every episode so far and after watching your machining skills and knowledge I wish I had got into engineering when I was younger, you have even inspired me to purchase a small mill to mess around on. Looking forward to seeing the end result and congratulations once again. Do you have an idea of when it might be finished?
