  • This traditional blueberry cobbler recipe is how our family has made cobblers of all kinds for generations. The ingredients couldn't be easier:
    - 1 cup self-rising flour (you can use all purpose flour, but it won't yield any rise to the crust)
    - 1 cup sugar
    - 1 cup milk
    - 1 stick butter
    - 1 egg
    - vanilla (optional)
    - 2-3 cups of fruit
    Here is my peach cobbler video from the early days of this channel:

    I like to use my home canned peaches. I use drained off juice in place of some of the milk in the topping mix. Yum!

      I’ve heard about some folks doing that. I think it’s a great idea!

      I don't know if you have thrift stores or consignments shops near you, but you'll also find them in places like that. It's too expensive for the items and shipping if you buy online.

    What size canned fruit do you use? Is it 3 C for frozen, fresh or canned? Also, what size baking dish are you using? Thanks

    • @OldTimeKnowledge
      @OldTimeKnowledge  Před 11 měsíci +1

      You just want to end up with about 3 cups of fruit that’s ready to use. So if you have cans of fruit, open them and drain them and measure out just the fruit until you have about 3 cups. It’s not necessary to have 3 cups but that’s just what I’m using in this recipe. You can use more or less if you prefer.

      @OldTimeKnowledge what size baking dish do you use, please?

      @@ruthchamberlain1058 If you have an 8" square pyrex dish, you can use that. Those are 2 quarts.
