  • LEGO World 2023 was in Utrecht (The Netherlands), and I was lucky enough to be there. In this video we take a close look at some of the amazing builds I saw there, and I share my thoughts on what I think could be cool to also see in our city someday. Unfortunately, I wasn't able catch every creation on this convention / ‪@LEGO‬ show properly on camera.
In this video you'll see work of:
    - Jeroen & Bas
    - Silvio Fontaine
    - Guido Verstegen
    - Christiaan de Roo (www.flickr.com/photos/aloisvo... )
    - Joost Slager
    - Michel Koenen (the creator whose name I didn't know in the video, with his work "Chima & Ninjago Temple")
    - Bart Delien (Barthezz Brick)
    - Kamiel Both
    - Iain McGing (Mociain)
    - Tom van Lieshout (TomStuds)
    - Frank van Eenbergen
    - Jeroen Deurloo
    - Sander Koenen
    - Ruben Ras
    - Sebastiaan Arts
    - Marc, Caroline en Peter
    - Jourian Bax
    - Stephan Gofers
    - Sjoerd Jochems
    - Patrick Koningh
    - Thomas Bijl
    - Peter Hooghiemster
    - Peter Bruggink
    - Sven Hooghiemster
    - Peter Faber
    - Ernst-Jan Versteegh
    - Yvonne Strijbos
    - Erwin Govaerts
    - Arjan Oude Kotte
    - Roeland van der Welle
    - Albert de Jong
    - Marco Baas (LEGOpapa)
    - Matthijs Bongers
    - Jeroen van der Voort
    - Han Hoekstra
    - Jaspers Steentjeswinkel
    - Casper & Mathieu
    - Johannes de Boer
    - Ron Jansen
    - JaapTechnic
I tried to include everyone, but unfortunately I didn't get everyone's name in this list. If your name is not on the list (and you'd like to see it added), please comment below (or mail to info@matthijsdewit.nl) with a link to your work and I'll make sure to add your name to this description.
There's also still plenty more room in this description, so if you'd also like to have your Instagram or CZcams page mentioned here, please drop a comment with the correct links :)
    PS
Next to learning ‪@LEGO‬, I'm also still learning to create videos and operate a camera, so thank you for bearing with me (I'll try to watch my stabilization and focus better next time!)

Absolutely loved your moc, great how you integrated movement in such a nice way! Thank you for the kind words about the video, it was my first video on location / about a LEGO convention. I really liked it though so I'm sure there will be more, I'll definitely come say hi then if I'll see you! 😊

Do you have plans for what to work on next? And any future LEGO shows planned already? Looking forward to seeing more of your work, I've added your Flickr page to the description so people can find it easily :)

Thank you so much for your kind words, I enjoyed talking to you too and hearing your story behind your great moc :)
Creating videos is indeed not easy I found out haha... But it will definitely not be my last video, so enough room and time to get better :)
Cheers and see you next time!

Hey from Canada. Wonderful to see the convention. There is nothing like this within a 1000 kilometres of my location. I have been building a city in my basement recroom, which is approximately 24 sq. meters. I am really impressed with the levels of detail and unique designs. Thanks for sharing.👍😍🇨🇦

Happy to hear you enjoyed the video, guess we're pretty lucky here that everything is a little bit closer by... Your recroom sounds awesome though! What kind of city are you building? 24 m2 is huge!
Cheers and thank you for watching 😊👍

I really like the fact that the Venice display was not constrained to MILS plates, it looks more natural!❤️

    • @brickcitymatt
      @brickcitymatt  Před 4 měsíci

MILS certainly has its adventages, but it can indeed be constricting!! It was amazing to see this in real life, and although it makes moving it nearly impossible (I believe it was completely dismantled after the show), it sure allows for other kinds of creations! Thanks for watching :)

Thank you for the kind words! I indeed really liked it, had something like this in mind for my city as well because of the height differences of the cabinets and tables in my Lego studio :)
I just saw the video on your channel, very cool to see in action! Interesting to see how you made the mechanism to make the boat and water move. Will definitely come back to it when I'll start working on my own ship lock 😁👍

It's indeed not in the video, I tried to get everything in there, but next to learning lego I'm also still very much learning to create videos and operate a camera (not all my footage was usable) :) it will not be my last video however, so perhaps we'll see each other next time! Couldn't agree more!! And yep, Barthezz's Venice moc is absolutely stunning!! Too bad we probably won't be able to see it anymore - he dismantled it after this show (at least partially, there's a video on his Instagram page where he tips over one of the towers 😅)
