I just joined like a week ago but I'm currently doing the same thing. Rewatching amazing CZcamsr artists seems to be my biggest habit. xD
Considering this was made in 2012, I'm really proud of Kurt and Sam for choosing to keep in the lgbt and poc parts. I've been going through different covers of this song and get super bummed out when they skip that part.
I absolutely love that Sam kept the song completely in perspective & didn't change the lyrics unlike Alex G & Tyler Ward did in their cover. I truly find it disappointing. The point of this song is to celebrate diversity in who you are & Alex G & Tyler Ward cut out a huge chunk of that! Regardless of whether they disagree with equality, cutting out "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgender..." I find it very offensive to take that whole sector out! It takes the whole meaning out for some people especially myself as a gay woman. I find that it undermines the whole song of embracing who you are and how you were born. Thumbs up for your video Sam & Kurt! Awesome vocals! Thank you for keeping the lyrics as they are written. Love your guys' musical & vocal twist on the song!

I've noticed that on other covers too by artists I otherwise admired. Sad. I'm so glad Sam kept it true. I was nervous thinking I wouldn't like this one either, but he brought it back at the end there. So glad. :)

I thought I have some fun. I pulled up Lady Gaga version on youtube and tried to sync them up to have Sam like he singing with lady Gaga. They actually sound really good together once you get the sync together. I did not actually composite them together just played both video and adjusted them until they matched up.

I find it absolutely amazing that Kurt is doing a degree in mathematics at Yale University, can sing, produces various songs for others, and is musically talented on such a level that most producers can't even match. Beautiful.

I just listened to this on spotify and really wanted to leave a comment. I was such a big fan of Sam and Kurt when i was younger, and this cover is still SO EFFING GOOD. the piano is beautiful and sam’s voice is golden as always. Also knowing that sam is out now (as am I!), this cover is really special to me.
