@@Netty4000 i had gaps closed (1 missing lateral) as a teenager but for some reason (thankfully) not all my back teeth were moved forward. However one oremolar was partially rotated and I had a weird gap on one side (not that I was bothered by it too much) . Later I got a deep overbite (after many years of not wearing retainers) and while treating that. The orthodontist derotated the premolar and opened space for an implant and now my bite is way - uneven wear tear I guess on the side of premolar that wasn't used as it shoukd be. The issue i had though was though space was opened up, the rotated tooth roots moved out of bone. It also wasn't able to rotate fully so it is partially stuck. I'm waiting for some healing and wondering if it would be worthwhile moving it back to bone (orthodontist said safest move it to rotate it back like it was which will decrease the canine/front tooth gap but not fully, which compromises space for implant. The other option is to torque that root inward but that has the risk of exposing root on other side/bite even hitting more heavily on that 1 tooth. I'm actually having more pain post 2nd treatment with the opened gap. Any tips on what should be my next steps?

@@amritarajamani wow that’s a lengthy treatment with unsatisfactory results. You might want to start searching for a orthodontist who specifically specialized in congenital missing tooth. I had missing laterals and my Orthodontist recommended wearing braces for 18 months to create space for implants. I did that 2!years ago and I’m happy I did. I now have permanent lateral implants in. It’s and expensive treatment but worth the money as my orthodontist said moving the Canine from their proper position in the mouth can create additional problems and pain as they don’t belong in the lateral space. Not to mention you would have to twist them and shave them down. Implants is a great option but expensive and not covered by health insurance as it’s considered cosmetic where I live.

regular braces are bad for you too, but when having extractions with moving a lot of teeth it really messes up your bite
orthodontists keep this info under the table because they only want money
