Went and saw Tears for Fears live earlier this summer and I can personally say that this song is 100x better played live on stage.

Well this is the life I was there's no turning back just keep going and change it
I love the fact that with the modern era of people are going back to music from the 90s and 80s and especially with songs that resonate with them either on a mental, emotional or even physical level and think “damn this is amazing” and for someone who has a mom and dad that sometimes bust out their catalog of music when it comes to cleaning, I’m glad I tapped back to this music. Even now this song resonates hard given the current climate and with this line “nothing ever last forever” hits harder as an adult than a teenager or kid

I've heard it said that the 70's/80's are back with everything that's going on now, be it local, national or global. The music of that time reflected their mentality which now reflects ours just as well. Also, movies and TV shows using them gives them that extra layer.
The fact people are going back to this song because of Skibidi Toilet though makes me sad.
"There's no turning back" really puts it into perspective that time doesn't come back for you. Life moves on, with or without you

Being a late 2000s kid I grew up in the 2010s. The 80s nostalgia was huge then. And I have parents who grew up in the 80s. I always heard songs from the 60s-2010s growing up thanks to my grandmother, mother, the internet, and the radio. But I mainly listened to 2010s and 80s music because I lived with my mom. I always find this song nostalgic since I listened to it and others growing up as my mother did. I have plenty of memories of it. They bring me back to a better time. Thank you mom for letting me listen to such wonderful music when I was growing up.

this song brings me back to summer of 2022. i listened to this song a lot last summer, plus i was just in general a lot more carefree at that point and some of the worst things that happened to me in the year hadn't happened yet. i love this song sm, and tears for fears in general are just such a good band, im constantly listening to their albums

Life is tremendously sad. You want something so bad and it doesn’t happen. You pray to God with all your heart, you ask and ask and wait and wait, hoping that the lack of answer is God telling you to be patient. You imagine how happy you would be with it and how it would solve all your problems, you promise and swear that you would cherish it forever. And then it never happens. You just eventually give up and accept it’s not coming. You still think about it constantly and it hurts you right in the heart. You wake up every morning with that longing and confusion, that feeling of emptiness and loneliness. You look at everything else you have and even though you have a lot, it means nothing because it wasn’t that one specific thing. You just have to walk away, and eventually enough time will pass and it will just fade away in your mind, you won’t even think about it anymore. It’ll just become another dream you gave up on, and something else will eventually take its place.

This song takes me back to Saints Row 2, as a kid I'd love that game, played it for monts on end. I remember purchasing the Penthouse loft for $40,000 and then hearing that song on the radio up on the loft. Good times. Especially after hearing one of the Saint's wannabes yell "Let's get drunk and eat chicken fingers!".
I've just finished Saints row 2 and it's one of the greatest game I've ever played.

I love this song because it perfectly embodies that feeling of sitting in the back seat almost falling asleep as you near your home after coming back from a long road trip as a kid. For me, it reminds me of coming back home from Ohio and going through Detroit to my home on a long road trip well into the night after visiting my grandparents as a kid
