I think he’ll have success at 175 but not against the top 2 guys in Bivol and Beterbiev. The Canelo is very strong and explosive for his size but the size and the difference in how is power effected Bivol really showcased how his power translates in that weight class. The cruiserweight bump makes sense because the talent level outside of Usyk just isn’t very high

@Wade Gilmore Agreed. Having canelo at 175 would be interesting but I don’t think he’ll do it because he can’t beat the guys at the top. Which makes his undisputed status at 168 interesting because he doesn’t want to fight Benavidez. No 160 because already declined both Charlo and Spence offers. I only see him going to cruiserweight after the fight. Can’t go up to 175, can’t say at 168 because Andrade and Benavidez have been waiting, and can’t go to 160 because the Charlo Brothers been waiting on him and he said he doesn’t want to fight a fellow Mexican in Munguia. I see Canelo taking a cop out fight vs like a Connor Ben at 160 if he beats Ebanks jr or trying to fight for the vacant belts at 160 when GGG retires, Which I see this being his last fight.
@@marquisewilliams6323 he only declined the charlo and spence deal because he was trying to get bivols belt so he took the dazn deal. I could see canelo taking those fights later. He isn’t retiring for at least 5 years he said. I think him vs beterbiev would be more interesting than bivol tbh. Beterbiev’s style would be better for canelos counter punching style than a super technical guy like bivol.

As far as being world class he’s done it all. At 40 yes of age he’s been in the game along enough to know, if he loses, take the money and retire

I guess he’s at a point where he doesn’t want to fight upcoming Mexican boxers. As many know he’s been supporting many new Mexican boxers more than any boxer currently in the game, and he doesn’t want them to live under his shadow if they’re defeated by him. (Cuz we already know how Mexican people are) Although not many agree with that mindset, I also understand his point of view. Cuz Mexican boxers tend to go under appreciated. Canelo is a small few that we’re able to hit stardom.
