A lot of former K1, Glory and other champions would annihilate the ufc if they had made the transition to mma at a decent age like Izzy did. Alex was kinda late, thats why he is speedrunning through divisions KOing champions in every fight. Guys like Alex and Izzy are not even kickboxing legends, they were just top level competition.

Salty Izzy and Alex Poatan Pereira showed that the same way grapplers with poor striking can do well in MMA, top tear strikers with poor grappling, just basic TD defense can do even better in MMA and be champions.
It's more about physical attributes than skill set. Doesn't matter how well you can read the game, or how creative and unpredictable your setups are if you're slow and unathletic, nothing's gonna work.

Alex even said he wished Hill actually sparred with Izzy because he would get pieced up. The reason Izzy and Poaton match up so well is because their both super elite strikers and no the nuances of each other, where to be, where not to be, tendencies etc. When you get elite vs elite you get rivalry’s like this because their pretty much on even ground☝️🤔
