  • Colorwork is BEAUTIFUL, but if you are just learning, it can be tight and distorted and a bit maddening! Here is a good tip to help make sure your colorwork performed on the magic loop is loose and beautiful and fits perfectly. Pattern is Warm Heart Mitts by Sabine Frisch and is available on Ravelry (@frisabiknits).

    I don’t comment often but when I find someone that’s teaches me something every time I watch them I feel I need to say thank you so much. I think sometimes we find that person that we seem to really understand their teaching and I’ve learned a lot from you. I am knitting the Soldotna as my second sweater ever and first color work and your videos have made all the difference. This video helped so much since this is exactly what I’m doing with the sweater. Love your videos and how easy you make it to understand each step. Thank you for your time to show us your beautiful work and to teach us how to do it! I would love to see more of what your knitting, your knitting is gorgeous!

      Thanks Becky! I don't remember what the color names are as these were remnants in my stash from another project. But, they are Madelintosh Tosh Merino Light! So pretty!

    Thanks for the great video. What if the float is in the yarn on your right? Would the catching technique at the end of each needle change? Thanks again!

      Great question! I have another video called Catching Floats As You Go which addresses this exact concern. That video will show you how to catch a float if it's on the right. Otherwise, it's okay to swap the yarn into your dominant hand to catch the float at the end of the needle change. Hope this helps!

    How do you make your work joggless?

    • @AuroraTalksKnit
      @AuroraTalksKnit  Před 5 měsíci +1

      The best way to make a jogless round is this: when you get to the end of the round in the new color, slip the stitch below (in the previous color) up onto the needle so it's sitting right next to the first stitch of the new color. Knit those both together!

      @@AuroraTalksKnit I'll try that, thanks! I tried another similar trick but that gives my work a bulky look.
