  • So i got my greasy fingers on this Ninbot max scooter an even though i am late in the game with this machine, i can see why it had all of the hype when it was first released. I have some range videos following this video shortly after to show you guys speed matters more then anything. I got perfect consistent results using the same trail system and cruising speeds for the most accurate results.
Real quick....none of these links are affiliate links. I will not get any commission for anything you see here. I put these links here for you guys (sorry it took soo long to put them up). Don't forget to snoop around the pages to these links. You may find better versions of what I bought since the max 30 has been out for much longer, there may be better versions of everything here.
Ninebot Shootout range test Part 1:
    • Segway Minipro vs Mini...
Ok bums here is the accessory list. However before I give you this list, know this list is months and months old and there maybe more revise or "better" versions of everything I've purchased when I bought them since I bought this scooter around the time it was first released. but here goes!
    Dashboard cover:
This is a link to a cover. This isn't the cover I bought as the orange cover I bought I got it from Walmarts website. The reason why I didn't put that cover link on here is because the fitment is too big.
    www.amazon.com...
    Phone mount: www.amazon.com...
    Gloves:
I have and like these gloves for their protection and stiffness. www.amazon.com...
    Steering dampers:
I was never able to find these rubber dampeners alone, so I just bought this entire kit just to get the dampeners. Everytime you unfold your stem, grab this dampener as it will fall out Everytime if you aren't careful!
    www.amazon.com...
    Wildman bag:
This is one of my favorite accessories since it allows me to carry basic tools, a drink (within a size small enough to go inside it), the Xiaomi air pump, protective glasses, the charging cable for my Ninebot max and a few more smaller items. In this link, you want to look for "size". The bag I have here in this video is the 3L bag, not the 2L.
    www.amazon.com...
    Handlebar extension:
At the time of purchase this was one of the best handlebar extensions I could find. I had to find some rubber material (in my case I used a bicycle inner tube) to put inside the rim of the mounts on this so when I tightened the screws to mount this to the max30's handlebars, it would hold tight. You can check other handle bar extensions from this link but make sure you do your due diligence and read what the reviews are saying about that product and see if they needed to do anything extra to make it work.
    www.amazon.com...
    Xiaomi Air pump:
This is another one of my favorite accessories. I use this to air up my gravel and mountain bicycles, my Ninebot max, my motorcycle, and my Dualtron Victor. This airpump works very well and the best thing I like about it is you almost don't lose any air from your tires while screwing/unscrewing it from your wheel stem!
    www.amazon.com...
    Special mention items
    Riding glasses:
I've been using these while I ride for eye protection. These glasses comes with 3 different detachable lenses to suit your needs. www.amazon.com...
    Modified Stem bolt:
This bolt is something I've acquired from a gentleman in the Ninebot Max group so there is no link for it. He custom makes them (he is a machinist) and so through conversation in the Facebook group, I've sent him some money via PayPal and he QUICKLY sent the bolt to me from England. I put his name in the video.
    Tire sealant:
Now you can use green slime, but this stuff right here "in my opinion" is much better. Half a bottle is good for one wheel and if you read it's description, it tells you it will last the life of the tire (or inner tube). I put this stuff in my most recently acquired Dualtron Victor tires after it went flat on me and now it doesn't lose its air anymore. If you want to look for alternatives, check out your local bicycle shop (I want to see go to a high end bicycle shop as they usually have the good stuff like this) and buy their version of this if you don't want to buy this . I went to a local specialized bicycle dealer and bought a bottle of their version of this stuff ($10 U.S.). So don't be scared of the prices of this stuff as the brand in this link is probably the best you're going to get when it comes to tire sealant!

First Generation Motor has a few more ft-lbs of torque, but with slightly less average top speed, 2nd generation motor has less torque, but a higher consistent average top speed. First generation motor loses speed as battery voltage drops. Second generation motor maintains top speed until 20% battery remains.

Thanks Lisa. The very funny thing about your situation is my lady is sorta going through the exact as thing right now with me. Just last week I bought a much more powerful scooter and this past weekend let her ride mine as I rode my new one.
It's almost like she acquires my good old stuff. Now we can both go riding and I don't get kicked in the shorts (I would let her ride my max 30 while I rode my Segway miniplus). She would just be leaving me all the time because you know that miniplus is limited at like 12mph.
I sure hope you enjoy your new to you max 30. I will be doing a comparison video between it and my new one. I think I need to do another range test on both 😨. It took me like 7.5hrs to do the range test on the max 30 because I'm order to get anywhere near that 40mile range being 190lbs, I had to keep my speed around 7mph. That was brutal!

IMO, they make the latching mechanism too tightened in the factory. That would be a reason for it to break easily. When i got mine, it was very stiff to lock and unlock. I regulated it to be easier, yet stable to latch and so far it still works without problems.
    So, just an idea.

    • @Jonasegway
      @Jonasegway  Před 3 lety

Thanks for that idea. Mine feels just right. Just the right amount of tension vs stability. I do have this upgraded bolt that I keep with the scooter but I figure I won't go through the trouble of installing it until/if the original one broke

Thank you. Thank you very much. I look forward to watching your videos as well. If you are q more laid back type of rider, you'll love this thing. Ill set the cruise control at 6-7mph if it means I can complete a full 40+ mile loop. That alone for me is fun and pleasurable.
I don't know how far you plan on riding at a time but if it's for more then I'd say 20miles at a time, do consider a good pair of "standing" shoes. I usually run 43psi in my tires front and rear and after being recommend I now recommend you buy the xiaomi digital air pump. It really makes filling this and anything else you have easy to fill. I use this for my motorcycle, Segway minipro and miniplus and it holds enough juice to fill two car tires if it's fully charged

youll enjoy it. it really does get you 40miles on a charge but everything has to fall in line like temperature, cruise speed, route type, your actual body weight, tire pressures (I ran 42psi front and rear.) with everything right, i think the max i saw on a charge with 13% battery left was 42.1miles.
remember i said everything has to be right. Relatively flat route, low cruise speed (6-7mph) high tire pressure and ambient temps around 75-80°f

O my. Yes you are waaay up north lol. You are welcome.
As far as the pump goes, I've used it 5o pump a car tire, my motorcycle's tires and my Segway Miniplus and pros.
It takes a bit of time to fill air inside the car tire and also a little while for the motorcycle. But when it comes to the Segways like the scooter and the mini pro and mini pluses it fills those within 20 seconds. It's pretty neat and is just extremely portable.
It has been very reliable for me. I put about 1700-1800kms on mine the first 2 months of ownership. Being that you live in a much colder climate in general, I would always be careful with handling the max g30. Things like collapsing the steering, when you are transporting it in your vehicle if you have one be sure to disconnect The handlebar from the rear fender. Things like that. I can see the cold affecting just a few components like those mentioned when it comes to handling and possibly cracking or breaking.
I haven't cracked or broken anything on mine but I am kind of careful with it when I handle it other than riding.

    • @Jonasegway
      @Jonasegway  Před 3 lety

When it comes to that rubber gasket for the steering stem assembly. When unlatching that assembly so that you can fold the handlebar down towards the fender, don't apply too much pressure or you risk snapping that little metal piece that connects the latch to the stem of the steering assembly. Because that rubber gasket will make unlatching a little bit harder but it is good because it takes away a little bit of the vibrations while riding
