When Is The Best Time To Hunt The Rut Phases Of The Deer Hunting Season

  • Every treestand and deer hunting blind should have a time of the hunting season when it should and should not be hunted. Especially in high hunting pressured areas, it doesn't take much to ruin a good stand location by hunting it at the wrong time. In this video I explain the best time to hunt stands in the rut phases and the early season, as well as morning and evening stands.

    I can't say how much I hunt almost the exact layout. The biggest difference being property lines. I watch quite a few hunting videos but haven't ever found one so similar. Love it. Thanks!

    Gave me goosebumps about what you said about the bucks going to the does beds around 8-10am. Exactly what I saw today. Wished I knew that 5 years ago when I bought this property

    Nice video, you hunt like me, I don't walk in until grey light so I can see and I know 95% of the time the deer are coming from feeding. Sometimes I don't even go in until 10 am and sit thru the afternoon. The guys that are in the woods at 5am are usually at the truck by 9am or so. So I either see deer traveling to bed naturally or get pushed by other hunters headed to their trucks. While everyone else sees nothing or spikes and does I shoot a mature buck every year. Nice video.

    Good advice. Hunt the wind that is best for the buck is the best advice. The wind is the key .

    Shot my first buck when he was chasing a doe. I believe it was the first Saturday of November. It was a cold evening and had put out a lot of tinks the night before

    Your second scenario is almost exactly what I am hunting in the morning I found the pinch point not sure if I can get in a tree but with what your saying about the creek taking my scent I might be able to set up on the edge of the water in some blow downs and be concealed.
    See what happens had a few nice bucks on cam . Pulled the cam so they dont get spooked. Thanks for the info

    Multiple beds in my expierence does not mean it is a doe group. Sometimes you find a bucks layer and hes got multiple beds and just lives there and you cant kick him out of there. From south east michigan Enjoyed the video.

    Jeff...does Hunt Cast offer an app with only the weather feature. I'm not interested in all the "other" stand location stuff etc. I've not purchased it because of all the extra's that are confusing. thanks, Bob

    When would be a good time to leave those red bedding area stands after a morning hunt? Wouldn’t leaving after the bedding area also spook those bucks? Thanks Randy!

    • @RandyVanderVeen
      @RandyVanderVeen Před 3 lety +1

      Yes you could spook and spoil a bedding area with your exit, but that's why you should have multiple stand sites for different winds and wait to hunt them until late Oct. If you never go in there like some guys never do, you really reduce your chance at seeing or shooting him.
