    Wow last year everyone was praising apple for natural colors while hating on samsung for oversaturated, now the colors have flipped and everyone is still praising apple now that they have oversaturated colors while samsung has a more natural color...

    The S8 had great colors all around not to mention it is the oldest here. Very impressive. I also disagree with your verdict on the S8's video. Yes the stabilization may not be as good as on tbe iPhone and certainly not the Pixel but it's not much worse Tham the iPhone and it's also not stupidly overexposed like the iPhone is. I like it. Everything in the iPhones video looks blown out and too bright.

    From the comments and my personal opinion, the iPhone X is a clear winner. I just love the detail it gives and I think the darker, warmer images look better. The Pixel did blow my mind with the stability, though because it’s digital, it causes a little bit of a zoom compared to the other two. One question though, why didn’t you test portrait mode on the iPhone or Pixel? Just wondering.

    If you would've included portrait mode photos for both the front and rear cameras, it would've been much more obvious that the Pixel 2 is miles above any other phone. Also, I'm confused that you didn't include HDR shots as those are the best looking photos you can produce with a camera for landscape, cities, etc. Again, with HDR the Pixel is a clear winner.

    I prefer the pixel 2 pictures for the most part for its natural look. You can always add saturation in post editing but you can't always reduce saturation.

    • @loosh.6450
      @loosh.6450 Před 6 lety +2

      Alexander Yose are you on crack? Where did you see saturation other than on the iPhone?

    • @EnderTheWatcher
      @EnderTheWatcher Před 6 lety

      I agree. The pixel 2 did seem to be most authentic with the end result, but each phone always does some kind of processing after taking the pic to get that jpeg (or other file type depending on the software), so it can be possible to get a similar picture from each if we extract the .raw file from them, or use a similar app that does the same post processing after the picture is taken. Plus who cares about the color if people are going to edit it, change the saturation, and add filters before posting them. I'd like to see if we can get a more similar colors and whatnot if we use an app like instagram for editing.

  • @Fabio-rg9nv
    @Fabio-rg9nv Před 6 lety

    All those small differences in optical quality don‘t matter since all do great. Also, the way the images are processed depends on many factors. But what rather matters is a dual camera to get that telephoto perspective and that nice background compression & less distortion in portraits. I love shooting telephoto, I can get way more creative. Kinda sucks that you never mentioned the telephoto lens ... it makes a huge difference.
    Google thought they can „shine“ without a telephoto lens and portrait mode with only one lens - only for marketing and cost savings, since it really only has disadvantages. For me that‘s kind of a deal breaker since I shoot telephoto A LOT.
    As a side note, over 50% of the photos I take are with the telephoto lens on my phone. And when looking at my actual camera gear, I don‘t even have a wide angle lens.

      I used a Samsung S7 and 8 at 4K for a couple of videos (they were not mine) and zoomed in 2x in post. Once on You Tube cant tell the difference on a 1080 timeline. I cant fault the Samsung and all viewers who watch on computor or phone/tablet are not pixel peepers and watch the content , not the pixels.

      Did you turn the HDR+ mode off on Pixel 2 during test? All of the pictures of Pixel 2 in this review were so dull. My pixel 2 takes way more vivid pictures than the ones in this review. The key feature for Pixel 2's camera is its HDR+ mode to produce really good quality pictures. Big difference if you turn it off.

    I think people really like the Iphone camera because they don't try to make it as accurate as possible, instead they try to make it look as saturated as possible just like how samsung used to do. I think the pixel 2 is better for people that know how to take photos and generally know what they are doing while the iphone is a better average user camera.

      WGACA I’ve been trying my camera on the X, and so far I do love it. I think any camera is pretty good as long as it’s a crystal clear picture, I just have more fun on the iPhone because it’s more saturated. I actually like that.
