Mimir finally figuring out the answer to the riddle during Brok's funeral broke me.
I looked up the answer when the riddle was given, but it still didn't prepare me for how it would pay off

😢 and the fact that sindri is usually a germaphobe, yet here he is touching everything bare handed means he’s lost all reason to live.
That and because Sindri's grief has driven him past the point of caring anymore.
He admitted during a scene with loki, that he still feels the souls that touched him when he wanted to steal brok from the dead all over his body. As he got to know germs (that being them everywhere on his body) it reminds him of that feeling, that taboo he broke, and the failure of ressurecting brok fully. Your conclusion is still valid though.
He's not just touching everything bare handed, he's stopped washing. He's unkempt, unclean and hasn't washed the Brok's blood off of his breastplate. Sindri is truly broken.
I honestly think we're seeing the main antagonist of the next game (Atreus's presumably) - I can almost hear Sin screaming at the boy for not even attending the funeral. He almost snapped at Kratos, who is terrifying, did attend, and was the closer one to Brok of the two. The man's got nothing left to live for - only incomplete (in his mind) vengeance to die for... And that would be scary enough on a more regular dwarf, not the realms-blinking genius blacksmith, specializing in god-killing arms, and completely out of F's to give...
@@leth5540 Sindri lost his brother forever (due to his own selfish act) meanwhile Lady Sif lost her drunk, inattentive husband. Both are clearly lonely and if the answer to Sindri's riddle was a hole then...
I think the solution to curing Sin's crippling depression is also a hole....... *Sif's hole* 😏
Because if he ever tried coming for Atreus, he'd definitely meet the old Kratos from Greece ⚔️ 💀
2:45 amazing detail you're gonna need headphones for this and turn it up a little. after Atreus says "I thought we were his family too" you'd hear Sindri start to sob. feelsbadman :(

When Kratos touched Sindri, you knew Kratos was about to tell him he was a good friend. Sindri reacts, but notices he wants to get mad at Kratos, but he then looks down because he knows he can't be mad at Kratos, but he's at a lost for words. Sindri knows full well Brok considered Kratos a friend, and Kratos saw Brok in the same manner.
Sindri has room to "Let go" but he first has to grieve.
I choke up every time during this part because after following them for so long through the game, you feel Sindri's pain.
I feel like Kratos could tell him what happened to his brother
I believe that Sindri can see that Kratos has gone through the same thing he did but unbeknownst to him it is a whole lot worse than what Sindri went through.
@@luisiana1121 yeah I'm pretty sure sindri understands kratos lost literally everything so him more than anyone would understand I mean he killed a pantheon of gods for that and sindri kind of went through that phase during Ragnarok
@@varlak9061 only difference between them is that Kratos killed his family but get to have an afterlife and he was manipulated into doing so.
Sindri has to live with him denying his brother an afterlife due to his selfish choices beforehand.

Sindri seems to not have bathed or had a change of clothes since broke died…even at the funeral he still had Brok’s blood stains…considering how much of a clean freak he is, it shows how much this broke him.
The fact indri was ready to throw hands with kratos 💀
Yeah, imagine how horribly hurt Kratos would’ve gotten if sindri lost control 💀

20:05 I always found it interesting and even comforting that in his despair Sindri still bows his head slightly to Freya. He's still in there, buried under all that grief.
Brok was able to see through Odin's lies because he lost his soul "Direction" as such Odin couldn't manipulate him
the manipulating is unrelated to Brok's soul its not like Odin was using magic or anything he is just ridiculously good at using words to fool people i think the reason Brok saw through Odin's lies is because his judgement is not clouded by emotions or based on assumptions he sees everything as it is and was the only one who wasn't afraid to suspect the fake Tyr and call him out when he began to feel that things weren't adding up

@@dragonfruitrealits because odin was using pity against them all. Brok doesn’t allow pity to cloud what everyone is really thinking. They saw the red flags but left it alone cause they pitied tyr.

@@samwilsoncaptainamerica233 minor has even stated that since brok doesnt have all his "soul parts" there is no afterlife for him. He stated that they couldnt revive him even of they wanted to. Which is sad.

I think something that is also heartbreaking is how Sindri ignored one of Brok’s final wishes: “But y’gotta stop. Y’gotta let go.”
Instead, Sindri became super bitter, and put a lot of anger and blame on not only Kratos and Atreus, but also himself

The more I watch all the different cut-scenes, the more I feel awful for Sindri... When we first met Sindri, wayyy back when! His clothes were impeccable, sending Brok off on his Viking funeral his clothes looked like a hot mess.... Sad how things changed.
When someone that was once nice and kind hearted to you insults you, gets mad at you for the simplest of things, don't mess with them. Sindri the badass...

No.... I have a feeling that they are just going to leave it hanging there. As humans we crave closure. Leaving it here leaves a raw wound. No, it leaves a hole... just like the writers intended.
That would be a HUGE mistake on the writers team's end, Sindri is a grieving man whos lost everything. He's only acting so rude because of his grief, but he still ultimately doesn't go over the line. They would never make someone so tragic go from an understandable dick, to an actual antagonist
Brok was able to see through Odin because he could see his nature, not his form...
Something that’s important to recognize is that, as broken as Sindri was by his brothers loss and his inability to control others to avoid putting themselves in pain, Sindri acting this way will NOT fix anything.
Treating Atreus this way is just shitty. Even Sindri says earlier that Atreus did the right thing by taking fake Tyr in, and yet he hates EVERYONE right now. If he doesn’t find a way to recover, he’ll become just as much of a piece of shit as Kratos used to be. As horrible and vengeful and broken as Baldur used to be. The main difference is that the architect of his pain has already been defeated now. He has to grieve and recover but this is neither of those. He’s just lashing out and it hurts to see

Sindri is the last person who gets to assign blame. He not only helped Atreus find Tyr(Odin) he also damned Brok's soul because he didn't want to be alone. He is extremely selfish. He should've let Brok rest in peace.
Really man? If you're in sindri's place would you help Atreus find "Tyr(Odin)" if not then might as well brok help him cuz they're companions, don't tell me it's broks fault too? I get it that sindri is really selfish but brok is the only family he had, the one who is so close to him, they share a bond. You can't really blame the person for loving too much for his brother

So she can bring back a decapitate head but cant save a man who was stabbed seconds before. Seems stupid.
No magic materials available at that moment for that level of healing, and no revival cause there's no soul anymore.
I think sindri he is gonna get revenge on Atreus
This is the only God of War that left such a bad taste in my mouth because of how dirty they did Brok. MAYBE they can argue it had to happen to make Ragnarok happen but why did they have to pull that stuff with his soul? Why couldn't he rest in peace? They even teased us that he had a good thing with Lunda. Loved the Ragnarok fight. Loved the development of all characters otherwise. I even understand Sindri's development after Brok's death but I just can't get behind the no afterlife part.
The reason why they added that point abt his soul is to make sure no-one can say "he's been revived before, they can do it again"
@@yourfathersinferioritycomplex I believe that and sort of understand it --- but it still doesn't sit right with me since they ONLY pulled it with Brok. UNLESS you count Odin's midlife crisis of not knowing what happens when they die. However, based on Athena surviving in God of War 3 and then reappearing in 4, I'd make the argument they DO have some sort of afterlife and she somehow escaped it. Leave him dead but at least let him rest in peace. There are so few deaths in all of God of War that resonate like his did. The only other one I felt terrible about had to be Hephaestus and I'd say Pandora but at least she died happy AND of her own accord.

While I can understand Sindri's grief, his anger at Kratos and Atreus was misplaced in my opinion. Bare in mind that Brok told Sindri that he knew what he did and told him to stop and that he needs to let go which means Sindri shouldn't have played god with life and death in the first place. Sindri's blame should also include himself since a lot of the shit that led to the events leading up to Odin stabbing brock can be linked back to him and his brother giving Asgard to weapon that killed the giants and led to Loki being born to perform his role in the story. In the end, Sindri shouldn't have messed around with Brok's soul and should have accepted his death the first time because as Mimir said to Atreus, a soul missing it's direction cannot reach the lake of souls and as a consequence is denied an afterlife meaning Brok is truly gone gone. Brok was okay with dieing also and since it's all about him then his opinion on the matter is what matters and Sindri should have listened.
and another theory is that tord is related to hades Zeus Hermes and Hercules because is hades is giant and tord has a robot maybe that,s why he,s evil or he,s hades that his soul got out of kratos

Breaking the marble killed Odin completely. Sindri was hell bent on revenge for Broks death so he took his revenge by killing Odin once and for all

You’re not wrong but I believe sindri knows that, he’s just in grief and grieving makes you act in irrational ways and make irrational decisions. He needs time to heal a little and he too can take some accountability.

@@user-ge5gp1qy3m well with it being unresolved grief, and I read somewhere that since he has the ability to transport himself in a split second means he never would have to be in a situation he doesnt want to be in. And the fact that atreus is off traveling, it's probably highly unlikely that they would meet again thus work things out. I see this probably being a lifelong grudge.
