    Nice setup...gooi weg daai cast manifold... lol..D15 made 128wkw on .6 bar, then added D16Z6 ported head, vtec driver and Gude cam, made 157wkw at .7, built a "stoom pyp" header, made 169wkw on .6 bar. T3T4 eBay turbo , rev limit was at 7400, raised it to 8600 and snapped the crank at cylinder 3, built a D16 VTEC and made 179wkw on .7... 12,72 1/4 at Tarlton...this was in 2000/2001..

      Hi Hondatrix, thanks for the info! getting numbers from local experiences is rare. I was looking to get a ramhorn manifold, however from china or locally manufactured, they end up costing around R3500 and I am doing a B18V build next so the D15 is a tight budget build. however I do have a D15 with Z6 vtec head and polished exhaust runners going back into the car now, will up the boost and aim for 155kw to 160kw. the stock D15 won't handle much more than that anyway. were you running stock internals in the motors? not sure how the aftermarket scene was back in 2001 when these cars were still almost new.

      @@Red5oh for my power goals, no. The engine currently in the car according to various sources like forms, CZcams and local tuners, can safely handle 200 to 220whp, after that, you risk lifting the head or bending a rod. Hi, yes this is a knockoff turbo and I think they use the same housing for all the sizes of turbo, its a 50ar but the housing can hold a 70ar easy, the turbo is actually way to big for the 1.5 motor, the dropping off at the end was tune/sensor related. I think the turbo can make a lot more power but with alot of lag.

    • @RisingBoostYT
      @RisingBoostYT  Před 3 lety

      Hi Jason, very possible, the car had no breather setup connected, both stock breathers was just open to atmosphere, also I found out afterwards there was a boost leak on the throttle body. the filter was a very old HKS copy, definitely fitting a new air filter and breather setup one on the new build.

      @@kulatakrychle5493 I would not recommend it as the vtec-e heads have very small and thin valve springs. I would be very nervous to rev the vtec-e high. I would recommend getting normal non-vtec valve springs and swoping them over if possible. also locking the valves in 16 valve mode. but it would be better to get a non-vtec head or a PO8 vtec head. I am also not very knowledgeable on the D15Z6 bottom-end strength, however most Dseries bottom ends can hold similar power, some only have better oiling systems and can rev higher, however the rods and head studs are the weakest points. I think it is possible if you make a few changes. PO7 heads also have very small intake runners that will not help performance.

      Hi, the difference is the crank, connecting rods and block. Other things are the same. The stroke of the crank is shorter, connecting rod is 134mm instead of the d16 137mm. And the block deck hight is lower than the d16. Newer d15 motors also have a smaller big end journal. But D15 and D16 can handle about the same power stock.
