  • enjoy this in-depth exploration of my AP Drawing portfolio 2021 - very similar to the visual arts portfolio i submitted to colleges last year. hugest shout out to my art teacher for helping us all along this process, lol - many of these tips are from her.
[bad shakespearean accent imitation] i never thought i would utter the curséd name of College Board again in my lifetime... but agh, i despair! for they have seized me tightly in their despicable grasp.

I took AP art last year and got a 3 so I’m hoping this year, I can get a higher score and your video has helped me out a lot-

I am glad to see that you elaborated on the written details of the AP submission. So many AP Art videos only show the art and leave out the inquiry, what the sustained investigation is, and all of the experimentation, practice, and revision. Most kids have no idea that all this other written evidence stuff is a HUGE part of the score and that it is NOT just based on the quality of the art. If you mess this part up, it is very possible to get a score of 3, even with great pieces. A word of advise to people who have yet to do this....do not wait to start on the writing portion! There is not a ton of writing, but it is crucial to a good score.

i loved your theme !!! i love art that explores the relationships between us and the environment its so interesting and the PEONY piece oh my god it feels so much like the climate anxiety i have about what we're destroying about what we're losing

I don't even live in the US and in my country we don't have Ap studio art at least like yours but I do enjoy watching videos talking about your artistic process and showcasing your art. I find that so inspirational for someone who enjoys making art. Thank you !

I feel you, bushfires can be so scary, I live in Australia so when there was a bushfire a few years ago the sky was bright red too, so ominous.

All your art pieces are beautiful, one of my favorites is image 3, there is something about it that gives a warm feeling(I don’t know how to explain it but it is epic) Image 12 is a masterpiece as well 👏.

thank you so much! that was definitely my intent behind image 3, the warm vibe was actually somewhat inspired by @singajelly on instagram, their work is the loveliest.

Also thanks for this video. Even though I live in a different country so therefore have a different school system it's still helpful to watch. I think I'm going to have the theme for my art folio next year as human nature which is actually kinda similar to yours. This year we only had a theme for this semester and it was language.
