Hi and welcome back to my channel! Today I am walking you guys through my art portfolio which got me into RISD, Yale, Stanford, MIT, Princeton, and Brown!
anna renee the mold of the girl splitting was disturbing. I didn’t have the sound up and for a Second it looked like a robot chicken character but the art is really good. She definitely has talent! But the sliced doll gave me something....
As a high school senior, I really feel like I'm far behind. I'm very proud of things I paint and draw, but I don't have any completed works that could go into a portfolio. Oops.
Nonono that’s usually fine, I literally had my portfolio checked today and they said that they liked not finished pieces, so they can see your progress. So is totally fine, I would recommend showing both finished pieces and unfinished pieces :)
Try again next year and the year after, don’t worry about wasting years it’s better to waste two years now doing what you love than wasting 5+ years in the future doing something you aren’t as passionate about only to realize this is. It how you want to waste your life and regretting everything and possibly even starting starting everything from scratch
Your Strong Women piece is spectacular and unbelievable! ✨You really captured movement in mid air so beautifully. But more importantly, I love the process images you shared to show your research, thinking and development that birthed the creation of that piece. Thanks for sharing Eva!! :)
love your art, it's so creative and you're so talented!!! i was wondering if you could talk more about your artist statement that you might have sent to places like stanford? im thinking about submitting some photography to colleges and would love any advice you have on creative/art portfolios :)
is making sculptures very important to get accepted in yale? coz i am very good in drawing and painting with different mediums but i have never done sculpture and yale is like my dream uni
I'm slightly confused about stanford's art portfolio, it says that "NOTE: Mixed media portfolios are permitted but not recommended. The following types of work will not be evaluated: video games and apps .............architecture,..........:" Would artworks relating to architecture not be evaluated? If I want to apply for architecture how should I show my work/What sort of work should I do?
Could you give a little more information on the requirements for the Yale portfolio? I am thinking of applying there with either illustration or painting depending on the courses they offer.
Hey, I am currently a high school senior applying to a couple of colleges and I was wondering if you could give me some additional pointers for creating my art portfolio. I would also love to share some of my artwork with you to get your opinion on which pieces would be best to submit if you have time?
Hi, thank you for video which is very informative and a very great effort. I have a quick question please. My sis wish to submit her art portfolio but wish to put her best pieces in the start (which will mean the chronological sequence is missed). How strictly will Stanford look for this chronological sequence, as we also believe having the good ones in the start makes lot of sense. Appreciate your info. Regards Ram
Hi Eva! Congratulations on your acceptance to MIT (and others). I'm sorry your year was cut short by all this craziness. Hopefully, you were able to get home to your family for confinement. I am a teacher at a technical school in Oregon, and I'm working (online) with my students on their portfolio. I came across your CZcams video and really enjoyed your work. Is your portfolio digital? If so, could I get a link? We are working with our seniors, even though their year is over, to improve their portfolios, which they have started designing using WIX.
This artwork is GREAT!! Wouldn't it be funny though if they said MIT artwork and showed really crap artwork and said the MIT student is actually studying psychology or some other subject.
they dont want dreamers they want doers....alot of creative people in the industry work very hard and 80% of artist get mad and say theyll never sell out but they just never did anything good or worthy of a resume, its real easy but the unpaid hours arent worth it for most, even those with talent, I have 2 cousins in hollywood and they are nonstop drawing or writing and always stressing over projects
Dude hello how are you ?? I'm international student from Azerbaijan. Can I get into MIT undergrad art program without any test score or high gpa ? I have innate talent in nearly all areas of art.
This bears no similarity in any way, shape, or form to my own process of applying to an Ivy League graduate school for fine arts. I don't even recall submitting a portfolio, however I had excellent references from undergrad art professors and a resume' listing many honors, awards, and even museum exhibitions. In any case, one of my main goals there was to demonstrate a level of draftsmanship ability that would likely surpass that of most or all of the professors at any art school, at least any that I ever met.
So she was gonna show the Christmas mayhem sculpture, and here i was intently staring but then instead of the sculpture i see an add about underarms and rexona :^\
I have no idea how I managed to come across your first video but, my gosh, I’m glad I did. You are going places lady! I’m happy to live vicariously through you and your journey (via CZcams) through a higher education. Fusing Art and Science together has always been where my deep mind is at! Please keep making videos. I’m in it for the long haul!
What a beautiful portfolio! Your so talented in sculpture, I was amazed by the way you created fabric ! I would love to see a video about how you do that :) Good Luck at MIT!
OMG !!! Your work is INCREDIBLE. No wonder you got into your dream university. Your work has so much thought and effort put into it, it’s just extraordinary. I am sure that if you continue expressing yourself through your art in such ways you’ll have a very influential position in the art community. Best wishes from me and good luck 👍🏼
im so irrationally mad at how smart she is to be able to get into all of those schools and how talented she is omfg 😂 good job!
anna renee the mold of the girl splitting was disturbing. I didn’t have the sound up and for a Second it looked like a robot chicken character but the art is really good. She definitely has talent! But the sliced doll gave me something....
I could never admit I'm not as talented..
As a high school senior, I really feel like I'm far behind. I'm very proud of things I paint and draw, but I don't have any completed works that could go into a portfolio. Oops.

You should try iron oxide for your pieces if you don't like them as much when they're fired. It really shades them well

How does the university tell you what to include in your portfolio? Is it published as application requirements or how do you know what to submit?
so informative!

Firstly- love your hair. But Question- why do you need to submit a portfolio for art school? Isn’t the point to learn :O?
