WHY I OFTEN DON'T MENTION OTHER BRANDS IN MY VIDEOS.
You may have noticed that I often don't mention the original brands that watches I am reviewing pay homage to. This is very intentional and not meant to offend you or the original brands. I lost my first channel in October 2020 which I had spent 9 months growing and invested a significant amount of money in simply because I had mentioned the original brands in some of my videos. There are people who try to use CZcamss lack of understanding when it comes to the difference between homage watches and fake watches to attack other channels and their owners and sadly I fell foul of this in 2020. This channel was also attacked recently and CZcams deleted content simply because I had said 'subby homage' and 'Rolex homage' in two videos despite the watches in the videos being perfectly legal homage watches. Please understand that I can not afford to risk my channel so I will no longer be mentioning other brands when reviewing homage watches.

as a small wristed dude, its disappointing how the sub 36mm space gets so neglected by many releases. Especially the PRX case construction in 40mm wears massive on many „normal“ wrists already and rarely looks better than the 35mm version on anyone imo.
I've had a 36mm Datejust for 50 years i love 36 mm Watches 👍 6.75 inches but flat .
7.25 inch wrist here, for me the sweet spot is between 38 and 39mm. But in the end the size of the crystal is more decisive than the actual size of the head of the watch, as is the lug to lug. I have an Addiesdive 44mm turtle 'homage' which has a L2L that is also 44mm and it is a good fit. But I've also tried on a 40mm watch that had almost no bezel and it looked HUGE. That being said, a 36mm Nomos would probably look the right size for my wrist as well, due to the (nigh on) absence of a bezel.
I happened to be wearing my PRX while watching this video. I can't believe how the case, bracelet, and crown of this watch look identical to the PRX.
For what it is, it think it’s great. That price is insane. The 4k close up’s are terrific! Thanks for showing this to us.
Not sure how I feel about the logo, but if they ever did a textured dial design like The Twelve I might just be all in. Nice find Gary and btw almost at 100K subs?!? Last time I noticed it was 65K. Well done you mate and very well deserved!! 🎉

Glad to hear you were able to find out if these watches are made by Cronos. The quality is very high, and it sort of came out of nowhere, and all their other watches (SH does make other watches) seem to be just as good. So it was curious if they were from them.
I was told this was the only one...ill look for the others now!
@@ilikewatchesI think this is the only one that comes with a bracelet. But they make bronze watches and other CW inspired watches. Some shops on aliexpress also had these as low as 120 for the sales, incredible buys. I'd have bought the others but I was waiting to see if they might offer more bracelet option in the future.

This is actually really, really nice. Love that blue fume dial!! Just wish the bracelet wasn’t a direct copy of the PRX’s. For the price, it looks like a great alternative.

I don't like textured dials so this beats the PRX and the 12 hands down, I like the colour transition of the dial, and date at 6 keeps the symmetry. I don't have a pt5000 powered watch so I this could be the one. I'll keep an eye out for the best price.

Good review, the case and bracelet look very well finished, I like the 6 o'clock date too. Is that a press on caseback? If they had made it 37-38mm I might have overlooked the hands and bought one.
The people complaining about originality simply do not understand the watch or the watch industry. This is meant for someone who wants an automatic PRX but do not have the cash for one, this appears to be a great homage with a decent movement (check it out on caliber corner). By that narrow minded logic the new Erebus ascent would be too much of a grand seiko, like it’s a bad thing 😂
I think everybody understands that. I don’t mind homages but, the original is a $500 watch, not $5K plus. My main gripe with the PRX clones is the male end links. They make the watch fit larger.

I guess and hope that it will be soon the Erebus Ascent will be finding its way to you as well? Can't wait for a good excuse/reason to spend more money on a watch than I'd like to feel comfortable with....
Although....the new Seiko 5's cost $400, so the Ascent already looks like a bit of a steal. 😂

If I get a CW the 12 doesn’t come to mind. I don’t really care for the PRX either. If I want a vintage look I’ll go for a Tissot Visodate in this price range. The CW 36mm dragonfly dial on the Sealander is probably the best I’ve seen from CW and blows these two away.

Hi Gary, there are different model SH watches, I bought one a few weeks ago on Aliex, a black enamel dial divers watch also with a PT5000 auto, very much with Christopher Ward vibes, pretty much based on one of their current models, it's a very cool watch, maybe it's been pulled?

They have more than this. They have a pure CW homage, hence the sh logos resemblance to the CW logo

while watching this video I got my prx out of the drawer next to me, and now I trying to convince myself that its worth spending the extra to get the real deal .Like c.s.2001 says its the hour hand thats letting this down.
Of course, I think always best to get the originals if you can afford them but these alternatives do offer people on a tighter budget great alternatives.

They should release some simple colour options because I just don't like these kinds of fume dials. I like some fume dials but this isn't it. A grey or black dial and keeping the black date wheel too would look great.

I can sort of understand homaging a watch that costs thousands of dollars, watches that cost more than what an average guy can afford. But, a homage to a watch that can be purchased for just a few hunfred dollars - why?

Hands should be long ! My gripe is watches with short hands looks like the builder didn’t measure correctly or used leftover hand sets!

Its normal price was always $188 and as I stated in the video, at the time of filming it was discounted for a sale…they haven’t increased the price because of the video, the sale ended..it’s currently $153 at a different store

I was warming to this one......until i read the bit that said "40.5mm" ! If only it was a 38 ! As I used to own a PRX which had the same case dimensions & I had to sell it as it it simply fit too big !
My biggest issue is why they can't regulate these movements a little better before delivery. Eleven seconds per day is outside my tolerance for what I would expect a piece out of the factory would indicate - regardless of the calibre, having had very mixed success with trying to adjust others I have owned. Disappointing.
On the wrist it would perform differently

CW 12 homage but unlike the original these guys have listened to the consumer comments and given us the faded blue/black Dail with a steel construction not the titanium only CW offer us. 10% of the price as well!! Lol bargain 😂

With this SH it seems they have copied exactly the case of the PRX and just changed some bits on the dial. Why not get one of the cheaper copies?
Because this one has the best quality of finishing and feel in hand, definitely worth it.
I think the high beat movement and build quality makes this a very good alternative

That won't ever happen, I've been quite open about my dissatisfaction with Jody spending years telling people he was only ever getting a free watch for his reviews and not cash when in fact he was charging a cash fee all along. I challenged him on this so he now just says his videos are sponsored which means he gets cash....he and I don't see eye to eye on how open we should be with our viewers so he won't be sending me any watches any time soon and I wouldn't review them anyway.

He has a lot of influence, so I can see why companies want him to endorse their wares. I wasn't aware he was less than transparent about this & has coloured my view of him. Regardless, the new Ascent looks very good & I will judge it on its own merits, when it arrives.

The more I start seeing brands like CW and even Zelos getting ripped off, the more I hate homage watches.
No brands produce 100% original watches sadly. Even Zelos and CW will have used elements on their watches similar to those used on watches from other brands.
@ilikewatches Oh for sure. There will always be major or minor design inspiration. It's when homage brands essentially replicate and stick their own logo on. I just can't stomach it personally. To each their own though of course. Just not for me anymore.

Even the people at San Martin figured out it is so much more satisfying to make/buy something even remotely original. It's just a better feeling, and this hobby is based more on emotion rather than pure reason, isn't it? How much more would this watch cost if they spent another week fiddling around with CAD?
