Mass Effect 2 is an action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. Mass Effect 2 is the second installment of the Mass Effect series and a sequel to the original Mass Effect. The game takes place within the Milky Way galaxy during the 22nd century, where humanity is threatened by an insectoid species known as the Collectors. The player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must construct and gain the loyalty of a diverse team and stop the enemy in a suicide mission. With the use of a completed saved game of its predecessor, the player can impact the story of the game in numerous ways.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition is a compilation of the video games in the Mass Effect trilogy: Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. All three games were remastered, with visual enhancements, technical improvements, and gameplay adjustments. Mass Effect, the first game of the trilogy, has received more extensive upgrades than its counterparts, specifically with regard to combat mechanics, vehicle handling, and loading times.

that was so amazing to hear her say that. I was actually going to pick Kasumi and Thane I'm glad I went with Miranda and getting this dialogue. Them warp bombs with her and Thane was what really pushed them two for the last part.

Amazing mission!! I don't know if anything can ever beat it. This mission had everything in it we could have hoped for in an ending. It was very dicey at times and some of the choices I made may not have been the best but I was hoping for the best. I'm glad to have given Jacob a chance I really like him a lot he seems like he gets the same amount of dislike as Kaiden but I loved Kaiden too. He hit them with the good stuff and made it happen.
We mini Nuked that mini Reaper lmao so much freaking fun! Atticus saying hold the line in a speech would have made me lose it with overwhelming amounts of joy! I hope he does one day lmao.
Cant wait to keep going I'm glad we have a few more things left to do and of course I'm so excited for ME3 to start.

Amazon ending. Definitely my favorite ending in any game at this point. It was just so kick ass.
This mission is one of the best missions, not only in the entire Mass Effect series, but gaming in general. It feels incredibly collaborative and the amount of different outcomes based on loyalties and upgrades and crew selection can range from the "best outcome" which is what you got to "many variations of bad", we'll just put it that way, lol.

I agree with you 100 percent! This mission was single handedly the best mission I've ever seen in any game to this date. The amount of things in this mission was so amazing. As a soldier myself this mission hit me hard not that I've ever been to space but just the implications and the desire to want to keep fighting and pushing through. It was just so great I cant praise them enough for making this game.
The DLC “Arrival” should be your last - it really helps sum up the experience and sets up ME3 really well Commander.
Cant wait to see it!! I cant believe this is coming to an end. Feels so odd not having so much quests left.

I'm also nervous to see it end I always get like that or just sad when games end but I'm glad there is a 3rd game so it will be ok.

To be fair, that’s never been specified in the game’s lore if it was Sagittarius. It’s the largest black hole in the Milky Way, but I suppose the galactic core contains many more black holes as there are plenty of massive stars from which they could be formed.
@@artur0y95 True... We're so young, even though we tend to think we know everything, we may not even know a fraction of a fraction of what's out there for us to discover, provided we don't blow ourselves up first.
What there is to add to all the praises? The build towards the Suicide mission is so expectionally narrated. Getting Legion, the abduction of the crew, Joker's actions. After those this final culmination exploded my mind, I swear I experienced some kind of catharsis in my first playthrough. And the music...so much momentum there.
This is one of the pinnacle missions in gaming history, indeed.

I decided to come back to this video to leave a comment for it specifically. This mission is always so incredibly HYPE 🙌
I was on the edge of my seat watching you make your decisions for specialists and leaders, but you did it so perfectly! lol
The EPIC music throughout the whole mission is everything! And that last shot of the Reapers encroaching on the galaxy always sends a chill up my spine!
I know Arrival *technically* takes place after the endgame, but in my humble opinion, nothing beats seeing that final scene right before starting ME3 😱
As I write this, you're about half way through ME3 and I'm gonna start watching your playthrough as soon as I'm able to! Keep up the good work man!

I was really worried going through this mission and especially with some of the choices but I'm glad it worked out in the end. We got everyone back home it felt good and it was awesome to see it all unfold.

Hi great job with saving everyone on the suicide mission. Firewalker is a chill exploration DLC to relax..while Overlord is story based. Arrival is ME2 epilogue and I love the music there.
Such a great mission the best!! So happy we made it out all alive. And I cant wait to see more of ME2 I'm glad we still have a few things left. I also love a good music track its some of my favorite things in games.

The amount of weight you put onto every detail and decision really helps make for a playthrough that helps us feel like the first time when we played this masterpiece of a game all those years ago. Mass Effect 2 is the most epic game of all time and I hope now you can see why. I use to do playthroughs back in the day so I know what it's like having to record and edit and ship these videos and how it is a lengthy process, and also with you being sick and having to take a break, like... it is a lot. But I believe the hard work has paid off and cannot wait to see where your adventure takes you in the final chapter of the trilogy! I'm glad these LPs can give you all that first time experience again. I get so immersed into these game and sharing it with you all and then discussing things as we go via comments makes it all so much more special for me.
I know it could take me a good deal of time just discussing these choices we make but I wouldn't have it any other way. Getting these thoughts off my chest is a way I will always try to play. And I thank you for enjoying that part of these LP.

Excellent job! Perfect execution of the mission. All choices were spot on, especially the Mordin one which is not obvious but you reasoned it out perfectly if not according to the actual mechanics. :)
And great decision on the base (if only for the epic Miranda resignation scene). The conundrum with it is greatly simplified by **who** you would be giving it to. Using the tech to fight the Reapers is a sound logic in itself if dangerous to a degree. But giving this tech to the Illusive man who is an uncompromising supremacist completely unchecked by morality is a dealbreaker. If the choice was to give it to the Alliance, then it would have been a lot more difficult.
amazing mission my friend! From start to finish just a pure master piece. I will never ever forget this one. Best gaming experience I've ever had. And there has been many before but not on this level.
The choices were so hard to make because I was so damn scared to make the wrong choice. Mordin felt like a good idea in theory but I was so nervous for him. I'm glad it actually worked out.
And Miranda at the end holy moly that scene was cool! I think destroying this base felt so good. I did want to save it but I thought it was just to risky.

Just plain out amazing. I thought this game was amazing before this mission but seriously after this end omg it's like how can anything ever beat this mission. I don't think anything can. I'm hoping ME3 brings that momentum just like this mission. But I will forever remember this quest. This was my favorite EP I've ever created since I've been doing CZcams. Just binged all the last videos of playthrough but had to come back to this one! Holly s... what a mission! it really blew my mind all over again how good it is! so much hapopened so I'll just go along as video went.
- Right from the start I love how many little details are mentioned where it really counts you made all the upgrades and many little decisions, any one of those can change the course of what happens in the mission
- The section with Tali was so tense I had her in the tubes too and every time she screamed she's burning I had heart attack lol
- Samara with her biotic field was badass and perfect for the job
- Garrus is a great leader! overall you chose all the right people it can go so wrong if you don't! I was really really nervous there about Jacob for a bit, I always so him more as a soldier than a leader so I didnt trust but props to him he came through!
- The Shep/Miranda/Thane combo towards the end.. holly molly all those biotic explosion were awesome!!!!! I had that same team there :) and also lost it when I thought Thane will fall to his death!! that was close!
- The reapers liquefying organic life to build a reaper in their shape is creepy as f..k! :((
- good job on standing up to Illusive Man on that one. I think Shep was right there. and it's such surprise seeing Miranda standing up to him like that! she was awesome standing with Shep in this decision! also interesting detail.. Illusive Man has normal eyes in that scene at 1:24:29 Might be just game design oversight but I thought it's weird to see. he looks to normal lol!
- Sheprard saying "lose this channel" reminded me on h is days of hanging up on the council hahaha.
- The whole crew did so well so proud of them!!
Man this mission is so good, all the choices before that go into it, all the choices you have to make during it, tense fights, epic music! seriously once of most epic quests EVER!!! and the last scene with reapers coming.. oh boy! Here we go Mass Effect 3!!!
best mission/quest ever created in a video game and that says a lot with the games we both love and have played up to this point. Just plain out epic from start to finish, Hard choice, amazing combat, amazing music lol just has it all.
I was really nervous going through this mission i kept trying to toughing myself up for what was going on. The Mordin decision was the hardest for me. I just wasn't fully convinced it was the right call and same goes for Jacob. But it seemed to have worked out which was so awesome.
That Thane scene at the end where he almost fell I literally swallowed my heart that was so intense. The biotic barrier fights were so awesome and i feel like one of the best part. Crazy that TIM had different eyes maybe it was a bug.
Best scene though was running out of there and destroying the base!!! So freaking awesome. The music is still playing over and over in my head atm.

We still have ME3 to go but I will say this. I've played through these 3 games countless times (even recently) and yet I've never felt more attached to a playthrough than I do of yours! I'm really invested in the decisions you make and you react to them. The ending of this mission was so badass too.

This was an awesome episode! Probably my favourite end game finale in any video game. The decision to destroy the collector base is an interesting choice. I can understand the Illusive man's point of view and in my original playthrough I kept the base to fight the reapers for the exact reasons he pointed out. It totally depends on your opinion if it's the worth the trouble. Harbinger wasn't the one that exploded, that was the collector general. He was controlled by harbinger who in turn controlled the collectors. Very excited to see you play the DLCs
amazing game!!! It's safe to say this was def my favorite mission in this game and any other game to date! Just an unbelievable time and so much choices that had so much weight!
I really was thinking about saving the base because it may have been worth it to use in the future since its stepping outside the box to fight the reapers. But for some reason I just couldn't pull the trigger.
Crazy that this Harbinger is another reaper like Sovereign. Such a big reveal all of this!

Great playthrough! Many different ways to get squadmates killed in the mission. I've lost a couple squadmates at different times on other playthroughs. I put Miranda in charge on a playthrough once when I forgot to do her loyalty mission and got her and Mordin killed.
Oh goodness it hurts to even think about losing anyone on this mission. It would have destroyed me if we lost someone. I was so worried the whole time. Literally needed to get a drink after recording this EP lol.

The moment I completed the suicide mission I felt like I was truly the saviour of the galaxy, I never imagined a game could evoke this kind of feelings and emotions. It's my favorite game by far.
Some of the best feelings in video games ever. This mission was stil my favorite so far out of all the stuff I seen and maybe be my favorite from any game.
Sadly I wont be home at time of premiere but so looking forward to catching it later. hoping that your happy face means the mission went well for the most part.. I am really nervous about this one!! :)

Man I love this game and I love this song. The way it keeps layaring and adding instruments throughout the mission and just explodes at the end... My only problem with ME2 is that I compare every game I played since with it, and nothing has ever topped it. What an amazing journey!
The music in this mission was the best music ever. It took this mission to the next level. Its safe to say ME2 is up there right next to W3 for me as the best games ever made that I've played it was just amazing. I know we have a few more things to do but I know its still going down are right there at the top.

Great conclusion, you did good, you did good! Probably the most epic ending here out of all games I know, and you right, music is absolutely lit. It's a bit shame that your thorough style of gameplay made sure no one has died on your first run, people casually playing back when it's came out usually lost at least someone, which is kinda the point of suicide mission, stuff is tragic, especially when you accidentally lose someone important. On my first run I didn't pick the right biotic, Miranda was really not up to the job and Garrus, of all people, got yeeted into swarm. Rage quited and restarted immediately. Really cool stuff, this mission. Even though some companions have a bit more plot armour then the rest - every single one can die here, even Shepard himself, Joker would have to save the galaxy, lol. Too bad that peace with Cerberus was never an option, also was quite hesitant on whether to destroy the base or not. Illusive man is absolutely goated as a character, and I believe as antihero he had so much more potential then plain villain. Anyway, great game, great LP, I'll keep on keeping on, hope that will catch up before the end of ME3
such and awesome mission still to this day probably the best mission in all of mass effect that I have seen so far. The way this mission plays out was just pure epic. I was literally on the edge of my seat with every single choice. I can imagine this could have gone so bad though and I'm glad it worked out for us here because if we lost someone I would have been so damn heart broken and would have pushed on with out them sadly.

Good stuff man! I had no doubts that you would make a perfect run. Great at these games as usual. What an epic mission. I'm really glad that you installed that community patch cause that fixed a couple bugs with the suicide mission in Legendary mission. That scene where the colonist gets murdered inside the pod was fixed cause before the pod wasn't transparent so you couldn't really see just how brutal it was. Also the human reaper exploding and falling into the void was fixed so you could get the satisfaction of defeating the final boss. I'd suggest installing the LE3 Community Patch for the next game as it's got similar types of fixes for ME3. If you ever decide to play ME2 again I'd suggest a mod called "Risky Suicide Mission". It makes the suicide mission a million times harder and makes the choices even riskier and harder than the original . I think a player like you is up to that challenge. Looking forward to the DLCs!
thank you my friend! I was really nervous for Mordin and Jacob. I didn't know if it was the right call for Jacob but I wanted him to have a time to shine and I was so scared for Mordin. I'm happy we downloaded that patch I would have hated to see these scenes all bugged out.
I will be downloading that patch for ME3 as soon as we are finished with this game I want to make sure its all perfect for the last run. I'm just happy the fans made these patches to fix stuff.
Risky suicide mission sounds rough but I'm really intrigued. I just don't know if I ever have it in me to see any one die. I was expecting tears in this EP I'm glad I was wrong.
Dude you are the best! These games are kind of my obsession, must have played the trilogy more than 20 times and watched a bunch of CZcams playthroughs, and yours is the best by a mile! Man, this is a hell of a final mission, so well made. Every decision you make tests your knowledge of your squad and every mistake costs a life, heck you can lose up to three squadmates before the Normandy even gets to the base if you missed the ship upgrades, which makes your choices even harder. But you managed the golden ending on your first try, congrats!
I admitt I always get a bit of a laugh at players who make it to the end of this game and still trust Cerberus and the Illusive Man even though it';s been made clear he's been lying and manipulating you the entire time. all those times they claimed the more dangerous and unethical experiments were done by rogue cells, only for the unshackled EDI to explain that every project is directly overseen by the Illusive Man himself so he knew what was going on with each project and approved it. (yes, the folks on pragia were hiding some stuff but it's still clear he approved of most of what was going on).
Amazing mission def the one of the best ever made. It hit so hard on so many levels. And lol yeah he def made us a look like a fool and I even tried to redeem him in ME3 but yeah that was not gonna happen rip

This was an amazing mission. Had to be the best mission ever created in a game to date. Everything about it was unbelievable. And goodness losing Tali would have destroyed me.. I bet that was hard to deal with.

I enjoyed this mission so much! It was probably the best mission/quest ever created that I had a chance to play. I may have said that at the end lol 🤣. But seriously amazing stuff.
You can say the music is amazing as much as you want. I love the third game the most in terms of choices, story, companions, romance options, etc. BUT, the second game has the BEST music, the best feeling of dread, where every single person you've come to love can die by your side in a realistic manner, that you yourself can die too. "Suicide mission" is undoubtedly the coolest and most nerve wrecking mission of the trilogy in my opinion.
It's unbelievable! I can play so many games and I just don't think any mission or quest could ever be as good as this mission truly was.
I was so nervous going into this and even during mid quest the feeling was still there. Every little thing felt like it mattered and all the things we had to do before this mission to even get close to keeping people alive all played part.
The music was amazing I've been listening to the soundtrack to this mission since we beat it lol 🤣.
@@Bowskii Oh yeah it really shows, in both the game and the player. You were on edge the whole time, i could tell how nervous you were. but that's what makes the game so unique, the mission to perfect!

What a tense moment watching, everytime you scrolled over Zaeed or Grunt for squad leaders I was so worried because they always thought with their guns instead of their logic LOL.
Imagine if we had waited just one more mission, I'll just say that only the medbay would've been staffed if that had been the case.
In the end, I believe you did the right thing, unlike the Genophage cure data, the people used for the Reaper data never walked into it and we can't even know if the data would be useful as it has no direction or visible goal for us, it would be a very big gamble SPECIALLY in hands as sketchy as TIM's, even Miranda agreed with us and we've seen how ruthless she can be.
That final shot really sets the picture of what's to come in ME3, we still have the DLC left and Firewalker/Overlord may be a bit jarring storywise now, but at least it will be an oportunity for more squad dialogue and we'll get a bit of a break before the heavy hitter that is ME3.
hahaha it was so intense for me as well. From the combat to the choices it just felt so damn real and dire! LOL Zaeed and Grunt for leader would have been wild. I really couldn't imagine waiting to do this mission we would have def lost everyone.
TIM really has a good point and he almost sold me to do it. And I was so close to picking save the base but in the end I just couldn't do it. My heart felt like it was giving all those people justice.
Cant wait to see the last remaining DLCs we got. If they are anything like Shadow broker they will be awesome.

What how did your Jacob survived. I was laughing my ass off when you picked Jacob for the distraction squad because I was sure he was gonna die (he died in mine).
You probably didnt have him loyal. Garrus, Miranda and Jacob are the only good choices for Squad leaders
I'm not sure. I'm just glad everyone made it out of there. Because it looks like it could have gotten so freaking bad. But yeah I would think maybe loyalty has something to do with it.
Jacob is a good choice both times you have to pick a deputy leader, just not as obvious as Miranda or Garrus because of always being under someone's command as we've known, he only dies in that position if he's not loyal.
Loved that Jacob got his time to shine. Thank goodness we did all loyalty missions
Mass Effect 2 is a fantastic game. You should do Firewalker, Overlord then Arrival last. You did a good job picking your squad mates for those separation missions. If you pick wrong you can lose people. The only one that had me scared was Jacob but I get your reason for wanting to use him.
I'm glad we got out of there with the whole crew. I was getting really nervous the more we kept going. I was worried for Mordin and Jacob big time at the end.
I'll definitely be doing them dlcs in that exact order. I think we have an anomaly as well.
Every playthrough I do after the collector base, I go to the Normandy crash site, with the collectors defeated the crew that didn’t make it are avenged and their ghosts can be laid to rest. Then I go onward to the final mission, the Arrival DLC. The true fight and worst is yet to come the Arrival is but a prelude of the darker times ahead.
That's a solid strategy honestly I just recorded next EP and nearly finished one dlc but also had an anomaly in the EP and all of Legions dialogue is done which is nice. But going to the first Normandy crash site at the end like this would have been great.

lmao oh goodness. Poor Jacob would have been a corpse I feel. I did however give him a chance to shine towards the end. It was glorious to see he actually did well. I was kind of iffy about the choice and was leaning more towards Garrus.
I was anxious that you were not picking Mordin as the escort. He will almost always die (even if loyal) in the final stand while you go onto the floating platforms.

To clarify, It is believed that every reaper is built to the specs of the species used. Then it is encased in the shell of the lobster-looking thing. While every reaper looks somewhat similar, each one is wholly unique. I don't know how true that is but that's what I took from this part of the game and conversations online.
That's so freaking interesting. I would have never thought. I was seriously thinking all Reaper just look exactly like how they are made with out the Shell.

Congrats on getting everyone through alive! Sending Mordin back with the crew was a good call. Since he's not as "battle-hardened" as some of the other squad mates, if he's still in the group "holding the line" when you go into the final battle, it's a weaker group, and one or more of them may die.
Choosing Jacob to lead the second team is not a common choice, but If I remember correctly, the "safe" choices are Jacob, Miranda or Garrus, so your instincts were sound!
As for the remaining DLCs, Arrival is kind of a prologue to ME3, so your plan to leave that until last makes perfect sense. Looking forward to it!

Jacob did his thing! I wanted to share the love around but honestly I probably shouldn't have because we could have lost people I'm just glad we didn't.

Lol to me the tech specialist part of the suicide mission was the easiest choice. Legion is literally a walking computer in no world could Tali or Kasumi match his technician skills….ive seen people struggle on that part and I immediately pick Legion on my first play through🤣🤣
Def the easiest choice it felt that either of them are a fine choice. Tali as an engineer had the advantage to me even over Legion. They did create the Geth after all. But either of them are great choices. Even Kasumi could definitely be a good go with her being a master infiltrator. But an easy choice compared to the others.
Somebody else might tell you as well. but everyone can die on this mission even Shepard can die at the very end if you do bad enough. happen on my first run since i didn't understand the game and i was very young.
goodness that must have been hard to see especially for your first time. I would have been broken down in tears if we lost anyone. So much weight behind them choices I'm glad it worked out for Atticus!
Too be honest, you would think the mission would be 3 hours long given how much prep is required.
In and Out, One and Done, and for the majority of it the decision on squad members were very well reasoned out, except for Jacob wth XD

the combat, you have really quick grasp of the new systems and abilities and planning out a build months in advance, really fun to watch. Its not just reactions

The combat in ME3 is ramped up massively, the options, the cover systems, the weapons systems, my word the weapons!! youll be be over whelmed over joyed

amazing mission!! I knew it was going to be dire but I didn't think it was going to be anything like this. Every single moment after going through that relay was unbelievable. The Jacob choice could have been bad because I wanted to give him a heroic moment to shine but honestly it could have went so bad because I wasn't fully convinced on it either. Garrus was probably the go to for sure.
The combat of mass effect is among the best I've played in a game for a shooter. I cant wait to see how good ME3 combat is. I heard ME3 has a multiplayer as well I will need to do that.
@@Bowskii Unfortunately ME3 Multiplayer was not included in the Legendary Edition, there are some hard core guys out there who play it still but its on the old build of ME3 from 2012

it was so tempting I almost did keep it. At the end there the Illusive man was really selling it hard. But for some reason I just couldn't pull the trigger and keep it.
This mission might be my favourite i've ever played too, though watching others complete it for the first time is soooooo stressful, heart in the mouth kinda shit as every decision can kill your squad, tbh though i had higher hopes for you than most because you really care about the game and invest yourself into it and this game pays it off the most in that mission, you can literally get everyone killed if you are completely incompetent but if tou pay attention and think about your decisions as you did you can get everyone out alive, that's what makes it great.
Ps, the firewalker dlc is one i literally turn down the difficulty from insanity to casual and you'll probably see why😂, just saying i wouldn't blame you for doing it in this dlc as i think the difficulty is more inconvenience than challenge.
Anyway look forward to the last few episodes of ME2, its a wild ride.
Amazing mission!! I loved it from start to finish it had so many layers of just everything we could ask for in an ending mission. The decisions were really tough I was scared with the Mordin and Jacob choice because it just wasn't clear cut if they were a great fit. Glad it all worked out in the end.
And lmao yeah about Firewalker.... I just recorded next EP this morning and lets just say you are so right about that DLC and the unnecessary hard difficulty. I didn't choose to turn it down but I died an ungodly amounts of times. What was the worst thing about it though was no quick save and if you die you go back to the Normandy.. needless to say I didn't fully get to finish it in one EP but I'm so close which is good. Def long EPs to get that one done so we can get to the others.
@@Bowskii well i commend your determination for not turning the difficulty down😂, you make a good point about the saving, it would be a little bit less painful if you could just save when not in combat in the firewalker, atleast the mako could take a beating 😂.
