  • This puzzle is a little simple compared to some of the others I've done, but I actually really liked how straightforward it was! It didn't drive me absolutely insane trying to solve it! I hope this video helps!

    This is just one of a host of other ancient Chinese intellectual puzzles designed by Zhuge Kongming 2000+ years ago. Another craftsman from China, Lu Ban was also credited with the developments of these puzzles bcoz he developed the saw used to cut the delicately designed pieces of the puzzles. This design is called the Snowflake or Plum blossom.

    Thank you! I tried following a different tutorial but their hands covered the puzzle and I couldn't see how they did it
    This was very clear and I didn't mind the slow explanation, made me feel secure that I was doing it right
    Thank youuu ♡

    Excellent camera angle & explanation. I've the plastic version which is about the same size made by QY of China. The 3 rectangular pieces have different notches/grooves unlike your wooden one. The technique to disassemble & assemble is the same. I just feel that for the wooden version, in time due to friction of folding & unfolding the unique curved piece. The puzzle will become loose. The plastic version is very smooth to maneuver & fits snugly. I've 8 of these puzzles all made of plastic with the QY brand.

    Thank you! I tried forever to get this back together but all the other tutorials turned the piece and I was lost. She’s assembled and never to be broken again!

    Watching you take it apart was really satisfying…
    …but so was watching you put it back together again! Satisfying video all around, I guess!
    Also, I like your nails they look like the night sky or something hahaha. 🌌✨

    I couldn't have done this without how slow and specific you are. I tried a couple other videos before this that were way too fast.

    2 years later and is anyone else's 3 first pieces different? One of mine has a different "groove". Imagine closing the groove and this extra thing is separable, a piece. Divide it in two and put one in the groove and the other one literally on the same you just put, but inwards. Or just look up another version of this too. It apparently fills up the middle with this, so I guess that's the reason for that. It makes it a tad more difficult, but in the end, I found this video just so I could see it again amd then I watched after the hour I spent finding a way to reassemble it. It fell apart the moment I figured out the key, I hadn't had the time to study it

      I didn't know there were variations on this puzzle. Very interesting!

      @@DevinCrystie it's not much different, and seems either meant to help or confuse, I can't figure it out. It's just as "easy" when you align the 3 core pieces, though. It's just hard to hold it at the same time, so seeing how you do it was good

      Mine. I'm afraid I'll break it too. Like it's just not moving at all but I know I'm turning the right piece

  • @han-huo
    @han-huo Před 3 lety +8

    A little suggestion is to be slightly less slow, as in, don't describe each part for so so long. Personally, I just need a brief look at the piece and maybe a small description, but overall it's not too hard to follow.

    • @DevinCrystie
      @DevinCrystie  Před 3 lety +2

      Thank you. My philosophy to try and help as many different levels of learners as possible is that you can skip forward or speed up the video if you need less, but you can't get extra explanation unless I provide it.

      It’s prob kinda hard to skip when you are holding a wooden puzzle in your hand

    look, love your content SO FAR but you need to start the puzzle earlier in the video instead of talking for so long.
