That's what a pro would have charged you to clean your driveway? That sounds expensive for a couple hours of pressure washing. You can buy a decent pressure washer for that.
Thanks so much! I have been trying to find a way to clean my concrete backyard patio without the use of a power washer!✌
I've done it as you directed...it worked great...also we get heavy rain in Autumn...each time it rained...the paving came up a
shade cleaner...looking as new..cheers for video 👍👍
Awesome. Glad my video could be helpful! Take care!!
FYI: farm stores have a bleach for concrete for $5.99. It’s a concentration so you dilute it a bit but I never do 😷😎 I just wear safety gear and dump it on and circle scrub lightly and rinse into dirt (don’t rinse into grass or flowers 😂😅) I also use it inside for tough stains - I dilute it and mix it with dish soap and baking soda to creat a paste - apply to whatever stain (like red wine on carpet) and BAM stain gone. 🪄 like magic!
Great video! That's a lot easier than power washing. Thanks for the posting!
Thank you! I will do that on my concrete patio finally, Thanks again!
Awesome. I’d love to know how it worked out for you.
You are wonderful!! Thank you!!
THANK YOU!!! I did it and it works great!
Awesome
Thank you for the idea
Great tip! Other folks suggest a 50/50 mix of bleach and water, and with perhaps 5% added laundry detergent. You have to look at what bleach you are using: 1. regular household bleach has 6% hydrochlorite with a cholorine final quantity of 5.7%. POOL Chlorinating bleach has 10% hydrochlorite, so is almost double the intensity. 2. Highly suggest the following: wear rubber gloves that can handle chemicals, a breather, at least a KN95 mask, and make sure to cover your legs/arms. If you burn yourself from the bleach splashing you it can be not only painful but potentially scarring.
Great advice… thank you !..
P F appreciate the advice. What are your thoughts on bleach killing plants/grass? How do you remedy this? Also any Eco friendly alternatives? High strength vinegar perhaps??? thanks again
Meh it never scars - I use industrial grade but it will kill the lungs and burn your cheeks!
Bleach burns u?
@@MrBod4life
Meh if you dont want to kill your grass, just spray your grass with just plain water (give it plenty) and onr more time after your work for extra measure. So that way the runoff chemical will dilute even further. Or your grass already dranked enough water so the grass wont drink any of the drainoff and drain will just sink into the ground.
As you know, the lesser the potency. the less harm it causes.
Say just like killing viruses and bacteria. You want it strong enough to kill the virus and bacteria yet NOT strong enough to damage surface area or in your case, your grass. I hope that helps.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you so much!
YOU SAVED THE DAY!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCHO!~~~
You’re welcome, Im glad I could help!!
Vinegar is a good substitute for the bleach. But, ya them little pump sprayers are great.
Good straight-to-the-point video. Subscribed so now go make more content like this. 👍
Thanks for the sub.. I appreciate the feedback.
I discovered this when I was pouring chlorine into my pool and some spilled on my pool deck and it wiped out all the gunk on the deck.
Very similar to how I found out. I was spraying some bleach on a metal bench, and the bleach ran down the legs. When I moved it the concrete was clean around the 4 legs. I figured let me see what happens on an entire sidewalk.
Save my day it works cheers mate.
Nice!
Thank you sooooo much
You're welcome!
“THATS A NICE”
Does the bleach kills your grass?
I watched a woman use a huge rose stencil and pressure wash over her sidewalk, it actually came up stunning, and I think you could do the same thing with the Bleach and any stencil.
What video?
@@JJ-gr7th This was about 6 months ago, I will see if I can find it!
It seems in Canada you can’t buy outdoor bleach.
I wet the driveway, twice, then put down bleach, scrub with hard brush, and leave it overnight. No rinse. Works very well. Experiment with different brands of bleach, pool bleach is best, but expensive, cheapest is Dollar Store. Hate pressure washing.
Awesome Info thank you
Could I put the outdoor bleach and water in my ortho sprayer that I use for fertilizer ?
Don’t mix fertilizer and bleach. Use a dedicated sprayer.
Who! That's epic mate. How would you approach improving upon that even further? Would you let it dry and then hit it again with another round?🙏👍👌💯
You could possibly let it sit longer and add a bit more bleach, Or do it a 2nd time if needed. All depends on how dirty your sidewalk is. Good luck! Thanks for watching.
If you do it during cooler weather, it evaporates less quickly. Here in Texas, we need to do ours in the early evening. Or in the spring/fall when it's not so hot out.
Great video! I just started pressure washing on my channel
The Wolverine.
I have an idea. What if you pressure washed the sidewalk first during a hot day at around noon, then at around 10-11pm, when it’s dark out and the sidewalk is dry and still a little warm, spray the bleach on there to let it soak all night, then spray it off around 8am the next morning?
I didn’t read the label on the bottle so I’m just guessing here
💥💥 Then he would have to change the title to…. “WITH a pressure washer like every other video here”
Honestly I always tell
People that work with me on cleaning just about anything exterior, if bleach doesn’t work, use more bleach. That shit works so good it’s unbelievable
Is it safe to use on paint (exterior) on homes?
After doing this, the runoff will go down a hillside with trees and plants. Will that be harmful to them? Thanks!
There has been several people who asked and I have answered. But no, wet the entire area down with a hose first. And then rinse the area around it down afterwards. I have used this method several times and never had an issue with and plants, flowers or grass dying. I hope this helps. Take care.
great but what about the plants and grass? Can you tell us about them? Damage? 🙏🙏
I can see that several people are asking the same thing….NO answer from you, so NO thumbs up or subscription until I get an answer, thanks much.🎉🎉

Do we have to worry about the mixture killing any plants…? Or bleaching out tennis shoes…? What about wildlife, any danger for them…?
As long as you wet the plants/grass down first with water they are fine. Yes wear old clothes. Bleach doesn’t have a long “shelf life once in the sun. It breaks down pretty fast. Wild life is fine unless they somehow drink it from the sidewalk before you hose it down. Hope this helps.
Do you use the same bleach that is used for cleaning swimming pools. Industrial strength?
You would want to dilute that to 4%
You can. I used regular outdoor bleach. But I think it’s basically the same thing.
Would this system and formula work on shingles that have algae?
I have tried with varying success. However, i have had success with the spray and forget roofing cleaner. It definitely takes a while for it to work but it’s easy to do and it does work.
bleach not good for shingle longevity@@SticksAndHomes
Will outdoor bleach kill the giant oak tree that has roots running under the (cracked) concrete I plan on cleaning?
Highly unlikely unless you're cleaning it with bleach on a regular basis. More fragile foliage nearby, maybe.

Mixture is an ok way but Soft washing Can Be done alot easier and better without a pressure washer plus without any surfactants it's not to color safe as well as smells straight almost ... try surfactants next time.
Can also damage Grass and Flowers if Not Mixed or done right --- reason surfactants can help majorly as well
Use some pool chlorine
Donesky
Will it hurt the plants alongside the sidewalk?
Hey David I’ve done this several times and have never seen any adverse effects on surrounding grass or flowers. I do water the area around it really well before and after which helps protect everything.
can i give you a tip next time you do this, hose all your plants and grass first to avoid killing them then make sure you hose them off after the rinse
Thank you
I appreciate your tip Vito. Does wetting the grass/plants gaurantee they wont die? I was looking for something more eco friendly. May I ask what about vinegar? Does that work as good as bleach I wonder?
Would this affect the grass and kill it
I always spray everything down first and afterwards. I’ve never had it kill grass , plants or flowers.
is it safe for kids, pets, plants?
It’s outdoor bleach.. as long as you follow the directions it’s safe for plants.. bleach doesn’t stay around long.. the sun evaporates it.. (much like chorine in a pool) so I have no issues using it in my yard.
Also no car oil
Will it destroy the grass at the edge?
There has been several people who asked and I have answered. But no, wet the entire area down with a hose first. And then rinse the area around it down afterwards. I have used this method several times and never had an issue with and plants, flowers or grass dying. I hope this helps.
so how do i pressure wash without a pressure washer
Doesnt bleach kill your plants or grass?
Jasp Cosplay and Art Hey Jasp , anytime you use these types of chemicals you have to wet the plants and grass down before hand and after. Doing so, will dilute it down enough that it doesn’t harm anything. I’ve been doing it for years and haven’t killed anything yet.
@@SticksAndHomes thanks!
What about the plants?
Always spray the surrounding plants and grass with water prior to us wing outdoor bleach. I’ve done this plenty of times and have never seen any adverse effects on flowers or anything.
What was the concentrate of the bleach?
2 parts water 1 part bleach
10%. The pool supply store sell 12.5% for the same price. That's the one proffesional power wash companies use.
I bet the flowers didnt like the bleach lol
I can’t say for sure.. but they never complained openly..
Straight bleach doesn’t work on mine , it’s mostly in the shade & algae
Ever find out what workers for the algae?

Also do i need to do anything to protect the cleaned concrete?
There has been several people who asked and I have answered. But no, wet the entire area down with a hose first. And then rinse the area around it down afterwards. I have used this method several times and never had an issue with and plants, flowers or grass dying. As far as the concrete there isn’t much I know of that you can do to prevent or protect it from getting Dirty. I will say unrelated you should never put salt on concrete for snap removal as the salt can eat the top layer and damage it. I hope this helps. No need to subscribe. But I appreciate you checking out my video. Take care.
i’m thinking this will damage the grass once you rinse it, or no?
It never has for me. Bleach breaks down pretty quickly in sunlight. I’ve done this several times and so far I haven’t seen any issues with the surrounding grass.
Whats 2 parts water ? I'm bad in mixing ?
If you have a gallon 2/3rd’s are water 1/3rd if bleach.
Be careful not to kill your grass!
outdoor clorox is safe for plants
The audio for this is nonexistent...😕
No that’s just you
Don’t use bleach! Use vinegar
Doesn't the chlorine that you rinse run off into your grass and bushes???? That can't be healthy for the water table.
I’ve never had issues as long as you wet the area before and after. The manufacturer states its safe to use as directed. That’s all I can go by.
There's another way and you nearly used it: whenever possible, let the black plastic for a few days and let the sun heat do the rest...
Maybe I’ll give that a shot and see what happens..
@@SticksAndHomes worked for me. I also found another thing. A few months back I had a small construction and had me divered sand for the concrete. It stood there for 8 weeks or so... After using the whole sand, the granite was as if it was brand new. I can show a picture. Amazing stuff. I guess it all has to do with the sun light
So if I lay one of those giant construction grade sized hefty trash bags that are dark black on pavement in my backyard with a rip of duct tape holding it down by its 4 corners; that it’s going to clean the dirt away?
Can't hear you 🤷
would be better with one control, one chemical and one pressure washed
Maybe.. although I wasn’t showing which way is better. I was showing that you can get good results with very little time and effort doing it this way. Theres always more than one way to do something. This is one of those ways.
@@SticksAndHomes Oh, no doubt. Understood.
Not clean enough though and that is time consuming.
Better if you let it soak for hours under the sun.
Yes people have said they do this and don’t wash it off , just let the rain wash it off. I haven’t tried that but could work
It can get better then that
Prove it. 🤣
knowing all that dirt is still there, only bleached white, really bothers me.
🤔
Yup.. just changed the color...
Oh well, at least looks better.
