Luvly Jubbly. You can’t beat a bit of Badger Workshop of an evening. Very relaxing.
That looks beautiful, just like an old mantle clock - love it 🙏🙏🙏
You have a designer’s eye. Looks superb Badger lad 👍
Love how you make such beautiful things in such a small shop.
Chef to Woodworker, that's so interesting. Would love to hear how that transition happened.
😂 “ whatever I am now “ 5⭐️😂
Cracking project Matt 😊
Nice to see you using a sieve to draw the curve, and an old baking tray to drain the tung oil….. I just wished you’d used a pastry brush to brush the oil on too! 😂😂
Haha yes I should have
Now that's a lovely block Matt!
The tung oil really brings the colour of the wood out.
Just one suggestion, some little rubber feet to hold the block slightly off the surface. It'll help stop the dreaded dampness sneaking in and it'll create a nice shadow line under the whole object.
All the best!
Relatively simple but with the your own individuality. I like it. Those were big chunks of wood going through the table saw. I would have slowly raised the the blade but you are a braver man than I.
Thank you
That is a really nice project. Well done and thank you for showing how it's done. I hope to tackle this in the future.
Hi Matt, that knife block has really turned out great, the colour of the Sepele was grest, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia 👌👍👌👍👌👍
Thank you very much
That's a nice design Matt. I like the way there's a contrast between each tayer to enhance the fan shape
Thank you. Yes that worked out well
Awesome. Check out an American furniture maker called Foureyes furniture. They make some brilliant sleds for their table saws to cut things at strange angles
very nice knife block
Nice build Matt. Suggestion for you to make a zero clearance throat plate, cutting those thin bits looked a bit close to getting trapped. Cheers Geoff
Hi great project looks nice ❤❤
Thank you
Really smart Matt 🫡
Thank you
Really nice. Thanks for sharing
Cracking job Matt as usual :)
Thank you
Very nice is that. I’m seeing Art Deco vibes
Thank you
That's a classy looking knife block Matt, and equally important the blades and your fingers are now well protected ! The subtle stripe from the alternating grain really makes the design work.
Well done for thinking it through and coming up with a method for cutting the wedges that you felt safe and comfortable with, that's a good example to us all !
Thank you very much
Art Deco vibes!
Great job! You look like you’re having a lot of fun with builds at the moment. Nice to see
Thank you very much
Great idea and build And a fantastic video thanks Matt for sharing your time 🍺🍺👍
Thank you
Very art deco!
Fantastic , it looks incredible, going to have a go myself , as always great attention to detail
Thank you
Thats very cool. Thanks
Thank you
Love it Matt
Thank you
That’s cool that you were a chef previously. That’s a very nice knife block!
Thank you. Mostly country pubs
Lovely looking end product, love the subtle stripes from the different layers. Might have to steal this one once I re-assemble my workshop (moved house so it's currently a disaster in there).
Thank you. Hope you have the workshop back up and running soon
Great job Matt, looks a little bit Art Deco when standing upright.
Thank you. Yes I think it does too
That looks absolutely beautiful
Thank you very much
When’s the cooking channel coming. Always looking to improve my skills. Very nice knife block
That looks wicked Matt and perfectly timed as i am looking to make one for my own set. As an ex professional chef turned woodworker myself a also noticed you like me couldn't land one 1 brand spotted 3 different in that 5 block of knifes. 😀👍🏴
Yes I always liked getting different ones
@@Badgerworkshop I always had specific knives for certain jobs and at different comfort levels depending on how long was gonna be using. For example couldn't use the global for large batch or cutting. 👍🏴
Very nice. You seem to design on the go. I was surprised how well that jig actually worked. It looked a bit dodgy.
Thank you
Very very nice
Thank you
Another nice project. I didn't expect that it would lie on its side but in fact it is much more stable that way. Nice work :)
Thank you
I didn’t know you were a Chef. You’re meticulous with your woodworking, as a Chef, I trust you were the same. Cheers from Brooklyn, NY.
Yes for 20 years
Really lovely job. Random thought: when upright, it reminds me of a keystone on a stone arch.
It does look like that
Looks great! Love the sapele and the contrast between the wedges and small pieces 👏
Thank you very much
Very nice project and great design, love it mate 👍
Thank you
My first thought was what wizardry is Matt going to use to hollow out for the knives……😊
Nice design, stood up very art deco, obviously more stable lying down though
Thank you
Really beautiful work, Matt! I love the way you made it! 😃
I'm starting to cook as well! And I've been enjoying it a lot!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you very much
What a great project I love it so much wow fantastic
Thank you
Hi Matt, I like the way the oil captures the grain on the wood ,amazing finish . Nice knife storage look nice in any kitchen, a great project and build . Take care 👍
Thank you very much
Hi Matt, excellent video and project. Two things stand out, your method of using mitre back as a stop block and the fact that your knife block looks very art deco. Keep em coming mate.😊
Thank you
That's brilliant. I'm off to make one 🤩
Thank you
Is this the longest you’ve kept the same table saw? I likes the new tool madness 😜
Haha maybe
Brilliant idea
Thank you
Lovely knife block! More kitchen / cooking projects! Also, congrats on almost hitting 50k subs!
Thank you. Nearly there
That's really impressive. What about some rubber feet on the bottom to protect surfaces?
Thank you
Neat project. So any chance of some baking or cooking vids? John Heisz made a couple of those that were pretty good.
Thank you. I might do one
Did I spot a different bandsaw? Not the old one with the exposed pulleys!
I'm not coming to your house for a meal if that's what you do with your baking trays 😆
Nice. Question though. As a chief what are the best knives? Thanks.
There are so many. I always likes the artisan Japanese ones
Maybe add a few more wedges to add a better angle to get to the bottom knife? Cracking design.
Do you wear the same clothes everyday?
