One of my favorite Japanese songs by them! It’s another masterpiece from JK! This song was written as an OST for a Japanese drama called Your Eyes Tell. It’s about the love between a former kickboxer and a girl that went blind after an accident. When you put the lyrics into context, they become even more powerful! “I’ll become your eyes on this journey ahead”, that line always gets me! and Jimin’s high note sends me to heaven. All of their voices sound heavenly. 💜

I love this song so much. The vocal line part after RM is my favorite - the progression from V to JK to Jin to finally Jimin’s cry is just perfectly done. The right progression of voices with increasing intensity and emotion is hard to get right and is just beautiful here.
I love all of their voices. For whatever reason, sometimes it feels like Jin and Jimin’s voices were made to sing Japanese. I have no idea why, but they seem particularly suited for it.
Don’t worry, I cry every time. It’s just one of those songs.

JK wrote for his own mixtape. Movie director heard demo and wanted it for movie. JK watched movie and rewrote some of lyrics to match movie. Also scaled higher for JMs voice, knowing rest of VL could handle higher range. He also handled line distribution so all could shine.

This is a remake of a Korean film Always (2011) which was previously remade into a Turkish movie Sadace Sen (2014). As a film buff I'm pretty interested to check out.

BTS sent in several demo tapes but sent in another one right before the recording started, which was in a whole another musical direction - Bang PD said “it’s a song that Jungkook created after reading the movie script and watching the (unfinished) footage”
The lyrics had incorporated “watching over you (in protection)”, which was a keyword in the movie, and the shining melody along with the relaxed vocals matched well with the actual movie so director Miki decided to play the song in the movie and not just at the end.
it was already decided that BTS were gonna do the theme song for the movie before the demo tracks were sent so it wasn’t like the director deciding to use BTS for the theme song BC of their demo tracks.

Your eyes tell is co-written and co-composed by jungkook as well… it was originally for his mixtape but he submitted it with the other members to be in this Japanese film and his was chosen and they loved it so much that they made it the theme song for the film. Jungkook knows how to highlight every single member in ways that being out the best of them. Also his lyrics are pure poetry… but if you break the song down… he’s highlighted strengths of BTS members that really are not always able to be highlighted in their other songs. There’s rarely choreo to their Japanese songs… so they can stand and deliver beautiful songs like this!!!
Stay gold is Japanese and has an mv also lights is Japanese and has an mv as well… the vocalists really shine in the Japanese tracks… I know ppl hype Jin… but really each of them really shines in them

I'm Japanese, so when I listen to these songs, I think Jin and JK are amazing. Instead of singing in an easy-to-sing form, the two sing in plain Japanese to deliver their feelings. It might be easy to change the consonants or put in weird breaks to make it easier to sing, but it doesn't get to the heart of the song. Of course, it's difficult for everyone because it's not their native language, but Jin and JK chose a difficult path. Thank you and respect. And what makes Jin shine even more in Japanese songs is his excellent emotional expression and ability to tell stories. We often like warm, narrative songs that sound a bit classical.

Knowing where the song came from, I hadn't thought of how appropriate the song could be for ARMY, but it really is fitting. Thank you for pointing that out. FYI, this song was really difficult for Tae. He has the lowest voice of the vocal line and hitting those high notes was really difficult for him.
hola Lory esta cancion en el OST de la pelicula Your eyes tell (el es boxeador, ella es ciega) cuando comenzo a sonar la cancion no podia dejar de llorar, la letra de la cancion las cuales recordaba a la perfeccion, mas las imagenes de la pelicula fueron demasiado para mi, se convirtio en una de mis dramas( pelicula) favorita. es una pelicula japonesa del 2020 que es un remake de la pelicula coreana Always del 2011 sin duda alguna jungkook no podria haber escrito algo mejor.. amo a estos muchachos...

Jin and Jimin when they sing in Japanese is on a different level. There voices, the emotion, all of it is just different. They embody every word of that song. It's truly one of the most beautiful performances ever. Very happy you finally got to this one. Crystal snow is another one that is just, WOW. Hope you get to that one as well.
