- "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight" was written, produced, and recorded by Tommy Boyce and Bobby Hart in 1967. The song became a hit reaching #7 on the Cash Box chart, and #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The American duo were prolific singer-songwriters including three top-40 hits as artists and were is well-known for their songwriting for The Monkees. Boyce and Hart were also involved in producing music for Columbia Pictures movies during the mid-late 1960s and also did promos for the U.S. Army Reserve and Coca-Cola. A different song with the same "I Wonder What She's Doing Tonight" title was recorded and released in 1963 by the doo wop group Barry & the Tamerlanes.

Great memories from January and February 1968! Song made it all the way into the Top 10 on the Billboard Charts nationwide. Still sounds great.

There were so many back then who just walked out one day and killed it. And the songs still hit us the same way... we dont listen to any of the old time stuff and say yeah it was good then, but it sucks now. Do ya know what I mean?

Except that in 1963 there is the identical song lyrics at #21 by "Barry (Devorzon) & The Tamerlanes" which vocally is superior, but lacked the big-time instrumental backing.
