    C'est absolument merveilleux, tout y est : le chœur , l'orchestre. Meilleur version de loin la plus rafraichissante et la plus poignante de cet éternel chef d’œuvre . Grand merci à votre Grand talent.

    I must say I like the faster tempo is creates the lightness of throw away ornamentation that is characteristic of the French baroque, the voices were so rich in tembre, it was ravishing. The conductor was really masterful is his decruscendoes and this created seamless links between the different songs. I think this is one of the best performances of this I have ever heard.

    WOW! Seraphic Fire, Sebastians and Patrick Quigley has outdone Les Arts Florissants! I was moving and bobbing with every one of you! You made Charpentier dance! This was truly and elegant performance by Americans! YES! 23:34-23:38 Quigley's "moves" are great!

    Très belle restitution de ce chef d'oeuvre à la résurrection duquel j'ai participé sous la direction de Louis-Martini. Son interprétation était évidemment loin de ce que l'on fait actuellement, mais sa persuasion et son enthousiasme nous rendaient, nous, membres de la chorale des Jeunesses musicales, meilleurs. Après cet hommage, encore toute mon admiration pour cette exécution et merci de nous la faire partager. Pierre Kemner

    WHAT A BRILLIANT CONDUCTOR, CHOIR, SOLOISTS AND ORCHESTRA! I love the conductor's interpretation with its changes in dynamics- esoeciallu the use of piano contrasted with forte. So many interpretations vary between loud and louder. This is really special!

    Only 1 thing: it's not french, it's latin, so they have to pronounce it in latin, not in french, that's the only mistake they have.

    Instrumentally, a very beautiful performance of Charpentier’s Te Deum. Vocally, beautiful albeit that the Latin pronunciation leaves much to be desired in places…

    • @pjkhunold
      @pjkhunold Před 2 lety

      It's pronounced in French tradition. That's 100 percent correct.

    • @dragibusfuca2536
      @dragibusfuca2536 Před 2 lety

      ...It's absolutely correct. It was the Gallican Latin that was used (pronounced 'à la française'), opposed to the Latin used by the Church and the Jesuits, because of the fight that the kings of France were leading against Rome, since the middle ages, and raised by the Council of Trent. By the way, this pronunciation, which has been used since the 16th century (and perhaps earlier), was the official pronunciation of the French university until...1965 !

  • @contrariainnullamateriapos7302

    L'orripilante pronuncia del latino mi fa accapponare la pelle... da quale circo sono usciti sti zotici?? A parte questo, ottima musica e meraviglioso assortimento di voci

    • @MarctheSwissIrishman
      @MarctheSwissIrishman Před 4 lety +6

      Questa è la pronuncia gallicana del latino. Veniva insegnato così in Francia all'epoca di Charpentier. Quindi, anche se oggi ci sembra "orripilante", fa parte dell'esecuzione storica, visto che Charpentier avrebbe avuto questa pronuncia in mente mentre stava componendo. N.B. si trovano tante altre pronuncie "regionali" del latino nella musica (p.es. nelle opere sacre di Byrd si pronuncia la j, nelle Carmina Burana si dice "ts" al posto di "c").

      Non sono affatto degli zotici. Cantano e suonano benissimo, e quella è la pronuncia filologica del latino francese. Non ti piace? Stacce.
