  • This time, we asked to film "Shunka Shufutoya," which makes ekiben sold in Hakata Station.
Ekiben" is a common name for boxed meals eaten on trains.
We took a close look behind the scenes of their ekiben production.
At its peak, the company makes as many as 2,000 ekiben a day.
The bento are seasoned in various ways so that they taste good even after they have cooled.
The carefully made ekiben sold out one after another, with many people buying them as souvenirs, including businessmen on their way home from a business trip who were about to board a Shinkansen train.

very clean, hygienic and well-planned, well-orchestrated, everyone is working hard. If I have a chance, I will buy tonkutsu with rice. All food seems like a piece of art.

@@isamuominae Indeed..what might be considered veggie by Japanese may be made with fish or bone stock. As is I am here. Have been since the 5th. I am In Kyoto right now.

@@Bodneyblue only seafood based bento is easy, vegetarian restaurants you can try the Google maps... but they are few and some cases can cost more than ordinary food.
Overall Japanese cuisine use some kind of animal protein.
I heard cases of vegetarian people eating meat or seafood after moving to the country.
Honestly, the individual will lose a lot If decides be vegetarian only in Japan.
Pretty much the best dishes that I ate in my lifetime have some kind of animal ingredients.
Even sweets, mostly use egg and the list goes on.
If you came from a far place, you should try not placing hurdles like that. Will save you money and time.
If you have allergy, the subject changes...
But other great regions to make tourism like Osaka, Hiroshima or Nagasaki the same rules.
Best food have animal ingredients, even desserts.
