  • I was fortunate to make a short documentary for Volcano Teide.
    I have seen many volcanoes, however Teide is very unique with its innocent look being one of the most dangerous ones on Earth. Why? You will find the answer in this video! Watch till the end!

    El dato sobre la última erupción del Teide no es exacta. La última erupción en la cumbre ocurrió alrededor de 850 d. C. . La erupción del año 1909 tuvo lugar a unos 10 km del Teide, en el volcán Chinyero. Si se considera que el Teide es el conjunto de toda la estructura volcánica al sur de Tenerife, entonces sí se puede decir que la erupción del Chnyero fue del Teide. Así como las anteriores que se dieron en otros puntos. Pero no afectaron la cumbre del propio Teide

    Beautiful views, if a little bit repetitive. I was up there in summer 21 and it's better in person if you've crawled up that path instead of taking the teleferico (elevator)..especially with a clear night sky.
    I believe you missed the opportunity to have filmed the wider Caldera, explain how Tenerife formed out of 3 big volcano erupting Island parts and that they came and went again.. With teide being the tallest peak being left over. There's beautiful shots of the cathedral, a smaller basalt "monument" around which the softer rock has been eroded. There's the lava fields of the latest eruption which are 2-4 meters high and which you can pass through by car (they cut a paved road through it). I mean, there's so much more to this.
    Either way, nice shots. Thanks for the vid, love that someone uses drones for this kinda stuff.

      @tomaszchwastyk Před rokem

      Rather, he did not have a permit and was flying illegally, which is why he did not reply to any of these comments. And that permission is rather impossible to obtain, I know because I applied for such permission myself. The locals are rather aware of the bans, because I talked to a few while I was recording, but when they saw that I was entitled to fly, they let it go. This is the area of the National Park and as you know, in National Parks, flights are generally prohibited. If you want, I will give you places where you can legally fly in Tenerife.

    Teide is third tallest volcano on earth with elevation of 3715m - WRONG; tallness of s mountain is measured from the base and for Teide it's 7500m tall, which makes it 4th (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_volcanoes_by_elevation). If you mean 3rd HIGHEST volcano, then, well, there are PLENTY higher than Teide.
    It's peak had beyond zero degrees - of what? Celcius? When?
    Also, scientists ARE NOT saying it will erupt soon. Scientists are sure that eruption will happen, as is usually the case with active volcanoes, but this feels like fear mongering.
    Why is it the most dangerous volcano? Why not Taupo, Yellowstone, Toba, FUJI? AGAIN- feels like fear mongering.

    Also what I know; flying a drone in the national park is illegal and comes with a heavy fine. It’s also illegal to hike outside of official footpaths which is also worthy of a fine. @Timothy TwoTwoThree As a vulcanogist who worked on La Palma and Tenerife, which geologists are you referring to?
      I am aware that three geologists claimed that La Palma is unstable! One received a lot of money from insurance companies in the US who sold 'Tsunami Insurance,' to the gullible, one wrote a paper making claims and strangely had never read the first hand account by Juan Bonelli-Rubio (1950), about the eruption, claiming to not be able to read Spanish!! The other modelled failure, used the models that are used for tsunamis generated by mega-thrust seismic activity - such as triggered the 1960, '64, 2004 tsunamis. Then there are various studies which show that at the average growth of the Cumbre Vieja ~1.6 mm per year, it will be approximately 10000 years hence before failure might occur.
      If you wish I can give references galore that indicate the claim is in error!

    No. Teide is not dangerous at all. And it is not the third highest volcano on Earth. What about Elbrus, Demavand, Fuego, Rainier, Mt St Helens and hundreds of other volcanoes?

      Then everybody should be allowed to do so ... Then the "national park" would quickly become a "national place for flyes sounds

      He didn't have permission, I tried to get permission and there's no chance of it. This is the area of the National Park.
      Unfortunately, he's not the only one who doesn't respect the rules. There are tons of drone videos from this beautiful National Park. I also wanted to record drone shots from there when I was there, but I understand what these regulations are for and I didn't do it.
      I'm glad there are people like you who pay attention to this.
