    I appreciate it video. I just changed mine today and it was pretty straight forward. Just had a bit of trouble putting on the belt back on but i got it done. Mechanic was trying to charge me 350 to change it! I saved so much money.

    The part that the alternator sits on that you bolt it to….what is it called? I broke it on my car and confused on how to install the alternator if it won’t sit. Where can I find it?

      You may have to try a junkyard or something, try to order it online by searching for an "alternator bracket" for your vehicle.

    You have a part number to the serpentine belt? I’m getting the same alternator and I need a longer belt.

    Instead of hammer...avoid risk of breaking mount...use bolt, nut and socket to close gap.

    What amperage does it come with? Is there a 175 amp option? The previous owner have added electric cooling fan and i dont think the alternator was ever changed

    • @1018Video
      @1018Video  Před 9 měsíci

      The stock alternator should be able to handle an aftermarket fan.

      When you replace your alternator it's always best if you go ahead and replace your battery also.

    WARNING...!! Ater watching This Video, which Suggested Tapping the Aluminum Bolt / Support ( Ear ) so that the New / or Rebuilt Alternator would Slip in Easier.... I tapped the Driver's Side ( Ear ) --- And it Snapped Right Off...right through the Bolt hole...!! And I Believe that is the Bolt that Gets the Most Torque...( Belt Tensioner Included....). Now , I am Totally Screwed..!That Alternator Support Bracket is One Major Item...It would Be Very Involved...( Time ,Effort , and Money to Switch Out that Aluminum Bracket...!! ). ( Loss of Silverado Use, also....!! If the Alternator Breaks Loose, The Serpentine Belt Tangles Up & Shreds... Causing Further Damage..!! ( $$$) .Currently , I had to Mix up the JB Weld ( 5300 Lb. Per Sq. In. Strength...) And Epoxy , the Ear Back in Place...and Wait 24 Hours...for it to Harden..! Just So I can Load My Newly Rebuilt Alternator , in Place... Even Then....I will Never Know Which Day the " Ear " -- will Break Off Again... ( I am Screwed ).!! Note : That the looks of the Aluminum Bracket is Deceiving....!! It is Cast of Very Fragile / Brittle ( Cheap - Cast / Poor Quality Aluminum. ) Pay Attention to What I Stated Above... Don't Get Screwed..!! ( It Took Very Little Pressure ... To Snap that Ear Right Off , ) Note : Use a Small / Medium Size Prybar to Ease Out the Alternator - Then Carefully-- Do What it Takes to Fit Another Alternator Back in Place...(. I suggest Sanding / Lightly Grinding , the "Inner Ears " till the Alternator Fits Comfortably....) This Should Have Been a Half Hour ...to an Hour Job...!! BillinL.A. 3/17/24
